This is in Sea Pines, so we came on our bikes, and the views were top notch! From on our way to the restaurant to the restaurant itself, the ambiance was great! You could walk right out on the beach from here, and after you were finished with your meal, there were tons of spots to hang around and enjoy the ambiance. We originally wanted to sit down stairs and inside, but they couldn't seat anymore people. They immediately told us that the bar upstairs would have seats, so we went up there, and all of the and seats were open! So we Sat immediately. The views were beautiful! There were so many windows and from how high up we were, we could see so much! I really liked how we were the only customers at the bar because we were able to really take it everything! The service was great and fast. I ordered an Aperol Spritz to start, which was perfect, and calamari and the fish dip for my meal, since I wasn't starved. I didn't really like the food. The dip was too fishy for me and the calamari was too chewy. I think these were just off picks, I should have gotten an entree! But, again, I wasn't super hungry, and I did eat some of it. I was thrilled to visit this restaurant. When we arrived to Sea Pines, we did not have adequate time to make a reservation, but the staff promptly seated us in an available space on the patio. For the time of day, made for a romantic evening overlooking the beach and crashing waves. From the first spoonful to the last bite, this seafood-focused meal was a standout -- refined, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The Corn Bleu Crab Bisque was a great start. Rich and velvety, it delivered deep, layered flavor without feeling heavy. The sweetness of the corn played beautifully with the briny richness of the crab, and the bleu cheese added just the right touch of sharpness. The seasoning on the Old Bay was a bit heavy for my taste that subtracted a sophisticated finish. Next came the Pan-Seared Scallops, and they were nothing short of outstanding. Perfectly caramelized on the outside and tender within, the scallops were cooked with precision. They rested atop a bed of citrus-sweet corn, which was frozen. (Otherwise, this dish would have been a 10/10) accompanied by a lemon beurre blance. The Blackened Redfish brought the meal home with bold, southern-inspired flavor. The crust had a fantastic sear, locking in the fish's natural moisture while delivering a satisfying punch of Cajun spice from the red pepper sauce. It was served with a light coconut inspired rice pilaf. Service was warm and attentive, and the pacing of the courses was spot-on. We made reservations to set outside and were seated at the last table on the balcony. Great table that felt more secluded. The service is always great at the Ocean Lounge. The hush puppies stole the show and we would have liked more of them. The salad was fresh a we shared it before our entrees. I enjoyed the shrimp and probably should have order the chili lime shrimp entree as they were better than the filet. There was nothing wrong with the filet it was just nothing special. My wife enjoyed the tender short rib. Dessert was the chocolate tort which was very rich and tasty. The setting and service make the Ocean Lounge a place to go. read more

Hard to judge based on one meal as assuming good as on list of places recommended by person who stays at sea pines resort. Place to start off is nice with large patio facing the ocean. If not staying at resort supposed to pay 10 dollars which comes off bill. We were hoping they had just hot crab clusters but only had as part of boil with potatoes, corn etc which we did not want. Decided to try out seafood sampler as had many things we liked. It is all cook then chilled other than oysters which are raw. Clams and mussels were not good as either tasteless or bit chewy. We got side of carrots for some veg and best description is wedding food. They also brought it well before tower so by time got tower had cooled down. Perfect spot for a special celebratory dinner. We planned on staying for a drink and ended up enjoying a full dinner! We stopped in on a rainy evening and enjoyed the restaurant to ourselves. Scott, our bartender, was especially friendly and made a delicious Manhattan and spicy tequila soda. His recommendations for food were also spot on. Crab cake app was loaded with fresh crab with a nicely seared crust. Hush puppies and ahi are also must tries! Mahi plancha was a good size but definitely needs a side to complete it. Great nice restaurant with ocean views in HHI There is one other bar restaurant that is on the ocean but this is far more classy. So it has approximately 10-12 outdoor tables and a comparable amount indoors. There are plenty of options on the drink menu including a good wine list and lots of bourbon choices. The food menu offers starters and main course options. Obviously depending on how hungry you are.. off in the cast iron fish specials are delicious. Tonight we decided to keep it simple We need to go with an appetizer / small plate because we had a late lunch. The crab cake appetizer is delicious with a corn relish and red pepper sauce. I had the tuna sashimi with a kimchi accompanying side.. This was absolutely fantastic fresh and plenty filling believe it or not. Then we decided to have a piece of that homemade coconut cake It came with a caramel sauce and some strawberries on the side This was delicious. We always love the Ocean Lounge for its ambiance, and sitting inside OR outside is just right! With the Cast Iron Plancha dishes you can't go wrong and my crab cakes were probably the best I've had! My husband's salmon was delicious, he said. We split a delicious Caesar salad. And they always have our favorite Martin Codax Albariño on the wine list, so the dinner couldn't have been better. Hello, First I'd like to say that this restaurant has great atmosphere and okay service.. Perhaps service could have been more genuine (bartender), and with the waiter lady/man that took care of us. Don't get me wrong, she/he (Server) was awesome, smiling, happy, engaging.. but after I complained about the food. No manager was sent to the table. None of the food was recooked, or comped.. So she/he gets 3.5 stars out of 5. But I would still come back if it was all about atmosphere and service. I get that we don't go to restaurants just because we are hungry and thirsty.. we go to restaurants because of atmosphere and service. However, if the food is subpar. Why would we consider this restaurant? I was there with my 14yr son. So I had three beers (one at the bar, two with dinner). We started with Caesar Salad and Hushpuppies. Second course we both had the cheeseburgers with fries. Standard American style dinner. Caesar Salad was incredibly plain. Chopped to small pieces, drenched in simple dressing, and croutons from a bag.. You can get the same salad at your local gas station. Hushpuppies wore crispy, but cooked in deep fried gmo seed oil, and just too, way too sweet. They were more like dessert than savory appetizers. And now for the worst egregious offense, the burgers and fries. When you order a 1/2 pound beef cheeseburger in an upscale restaurant (which this place only appears to be - and charges as such).. you order medium well because you'd like to still see some hot pink center. Which is how this size burger should be ordered. Both of our burgers came cremated - beyond well done! No juice or flavor coming out of them. Plus there was no salt or pepper on them! Bland, Bland, why would you disrespect the cheeseburger that way is beyond me?! This was a CRIME! Properly cooked burger is like kissing God! The Fries wore strait from the bag and horrible! Why would the Chef choose these fries in the first place? Why would he order them from Sysco?! Is it hard to make fresh cut fries from organic potatoes and fry them in NonGMO frying oil first time at 250f (par cook), and then let them sit in the walking fridge for next day service?.. So when a customer orders fries, you fry them to complete the cooking process at 375f.. and toss them in Kosher or Celtic salt is beyond me! Did my server ask about the meals we got? Yes, she/he did. But when I honestly gave my opinion, was anything done to fix our meals? NO! We have no reason to come back here. As I wouldn't dare try the fish or other menu items.. but maybe you will. For you this place might be perfect, and you are not a snobby cooked from scratch, kind of dude who grew up in Santa Monica, Beverly Hills and EUROPE. In conclusion, I believe it is better that the management/owners know the truth about their restaurant, so that they can fix it, and provide a truly elevated experience for their customers. Or they can stick their heads in the sand and be happy with mediocre service their staff/kitchen provides on daily basis. We chose the Ocean Lounge, I can't compare it to the first floor dining but feels like we made the better choice. Fantastic ambiance with the old school lounge vibe. The ocean lounge is 21 and over and has stunning panoramic views of the beach. You have to pay to get into sea pines but if you order food you can have your gate pass refunded! I enjoyed the steak with mashed potatoes & green beans with a side of the brussels to share the steak was O.K. and the mashed potatoes & brussel sprouts were great. Service was excellent.
