Best service in Hilton Head Beach! Order a drink for yourself and the lava flow for the kids. Real fruit in some of the virgin daiquiris. But I'm going to end this review where it started: the service. In a world where restaurants and businesses seem to be nickel and diming you, this place gives you that little "extra" just because which increases value and brings you back. If you have to walk the extra block to make it here vs. the pool/tiki bar next door, I highly recommend it.

Always a stop on my visits to HHI. Lively bar tenders, beautiful location, always fun. Servers are always friendly and accommodating.

We happened upon this place from the beach and everything was great from the atmosphere, the service, drinks and food!! The bartenders were great and use fresh real ingredients (fresh fruit, mint etc) to make the best drinks!! We ordered the Blackend Grouper sandwich 10/10, Big Mac wrap and 4 chicken tender kids meals! Everything was delicious down to the home made ranch!! This place is top tier AND it's right on the beach!!

If you're not staying at the resort, you can enter the bar from the parking deck as I did, just follow the signs. I enjoyed my mudslide until the bee's got out of control. They also serve a full menu and the service is good.

Cadillac margarita with Grand Marnier floater... very tasty and tart. Bud Light icy cold.

An oasis on the beach. No happy hour per se, but $11 frozen drinks are generous and the bartender gives a heavily pour... $5 extra will get you a floater... my margarita was a Cadillac with a Grand Marnier floater (frozen drinks come in 2 cups) Tried the chili cheese fries as a shareable appetizer, and it was remarkable even without the jalapeños.

Stopped by for a cold beverage on a week night in October and was surprised to see how crowded it was! Always a good sign. Ordered the Lava Flow and drank it in record speed because it was so good! Wish I had time to go back before I had to leave

Annual visit to pool bar Jim's for some smoothies and beach vibes. Fast and friendly service for some freshly made beach drinks. Hilton head staple that can't be beat

I dropped by PBJ's after reading an article in a travel publication. Its located at the bottom of the Seacrest resort. This is a true dive bar poolside at a resort on the beach. Its cool how they have patches from around the globe (I believe), from military, law enforcement, fire departments, et al. My late father was in the Navy, so I was happy to see patches for the aircraft carriers Coral Sea and Enterprise. I also saw license plates fr other states giving a shout out to HH. The bartenders are cool. The only downside is the bar closes @ 8 pm. This is more of a day and late afternoon place to hit in HH.

If you are looking for a place to eat, this is not it. The menu is very small and limited because it's a poolside bar. The ambience is energetic being flanked by two pools on the ocean and the drinks are strong. Fun place for a drink!

It's little outdoor frozen drink place. Very chill vibes, many people are in their swim suits and flip flops. When we went, it was a little busy, and there were bees flying around the "bar" area. One of the bartenders said they were doing the day prior. Be mindful of this. There's a lot of fresh fruits and sweets and it bees love this! We sat away from the bar and didn't have issues though. The drinks tasted so good! And there was even a smaller extra cup with more because our bartender made a lot. I don't think I tasted the alcohol in mine- so be mindful of this. It tasted good more than anything.

When you're at the beach, the majority of the time you don't need a top grade Manhattan or Old Fashioned to make you happy. You want to see the sand, hear the waves, feel the sun, and order up all the cheap drinks the bartender will send your way. Rum (cheap at that) and Coke, boozy slushies, and the occasional grouper sandwich or burger when you get hungry. Live music? Nope. Televisions with national sports playing? Nope. Updated decor to draw your attention? You know the answer. And you also don't care. You want to unwind wearing your flip flops, wet swimming trunks/bathing suit, and all. Maybe you'll doze off and get sunburnt on just your left side. Maybe you'll read a book that you paid .99 for at the local gas station. And maybe you'll contemplate the deep things of life and make a decision that changes your entire trajectory. But whatever you do while at Pool Bar Jim's, I know for sure you're going to leave there feeling really really good.

I really enjoyed Pool Bar Jim's! My only recommendation is that there should be an easier to find route for this bar. Going through the parking garage seemed a little uneasy and not ideal if you're coming from another nearby beach resort. I got the peanut butter cup drink and the bartenders were really kind in giving us the extra as a complimentary second drink. Views are great especially at sunset. Would recommend!

PBJs is an amazing place to relax & have some great food & drinks. The views are amazing as it's right on the ocean. There are plenty of seats & tables to choose from during off season. The grilled grouper sandwich is absolutely delicious & the drinks are fresh & wonderful.

Great beach location to get a cold and/or frosty drink. Only take one star away because the prices are pretty high.

Ask the Community - Pool Bar Jim's

How much are the frozen drinks. Peanut butter cup and bahama mama?

I think the peanut butter cup was around $15. There was more than would fit into the cup so I got close to 1 1/2 drinks. They seemed to make more than a cupful for everyone. It was like a dessert. So good but 1 was enough.

    Is it Dog friendly?

Yes- Many people had their dogs with them. It's a big deck overlooking the ocean. Kids were there with their parents having smoothies.

    Is there happy hour?

    No...

Sit at the bar or grab a table and the service is FAST but the food is very good for a tiki shack kind of environment. We particularly liked the fish sandwich and fish tacos. Also I can never resist tater tots so it's automatically a winner. Everyone is in bathing suits and there's shower washes and things to rinse your feet off as you enter so no worries about doing anything except walking off the sand and then walking back out! The outdoor seating is a nice touch, with a mix of open-air tables and some covered spots at the bar for shade. The drink menu is decent, with plenty of tropical cocktails to choose from, though the beer selection is surprisingly limited for a place that stays this busy. Most of the service seems to run through the bar, and while the bar staff was friendly, upbeat, and doing their best despite being absolutely swamped, the table service was pretty spotty. The food menu is just okay--nothing terrible, nothing standout. I ordered the Caribbean Jerk Chicken sandwich at lunch, and unfortunately it did not sit well with me at all. It upset my digestive system enough to derail one of my vacation days, which definitely colored the experience. One thing that stood out was the presence of armed security guards. Not necessarily a problem, but it does create a different atmosphere than you might expect from a casual beachfront bar. Many reviews have mentioned the parking. We stayed at the hotel, so it wasn't an issue for us but somebody sitting next to me at the bar was ejected by management for something related to parking. I'm not sure of the exact details because I couldn't hear the conversation well, but it seemed to have to do with either buying or selling a parking pass with someone else. There was another incident where an unruly patron had the police called on them after engaging with one of the aforementioned security guards. That said, these seemed to be atypical of the total experience. Overall, it's an entertaining spot for drinks and music, but the unpleasant food experience land it at a middle-of-the-road three stars for me.

Our entire experience was great from start to finish. Everything is done at your own pace and you have the choice of ordering your food/drinks at the bar or directly to your table. The décor on the inside was that of a typical sports bar. Plenty of games for the whole family to enjoy. The food was also clearly made fresh once ordered. The wings were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The Philly cheesesteak egg rolls were also a huge success!! The jumbo pretzel was good but nothing to rave over. My wife gives high praise for the chicken club sandwich. The chicken was perfectly grilled and the focaccia bread was delicious! I also tried the cherry sour and it was very tasty. Overall our experience from start to finish was great! The food was good, the drinks were refreshing, and the time spent with family made it even better. We will definitely be returning and will recommend Local Legends to anyone visiting the area.

The service takes a little getting used to-- full service at the bar but ordering via the app at the tables. Once we got that squared away, it was a really easy meal. We had a big group and ordered a bit of everything- burgers, ribs, fish tacos-- everything came out quick, hot and mostly delicious. The ribs were a fan favorite, the Mac and cheese that comes with it was less so-- a little plasticky for our tastes. The fries were good, the beer selection was huge with some really fun options brewed in house. What I loved about this place was how welcoming it was and how it appealed to everyone. There were people on dates, families with young kids, groups of adults, families on vacations and solo folks at the bar. I highly recommend if you're in the area and want a nice, casual meal.
