Delicious drinks (with sidecars). They cut our split wraps in half without us having to ask. Nice personal touches here. Best service in Hilton Head Beach! Order a drink for yourself and the lava flow for the kids. Real fruit in some of the virgin daiquiris. But I'm going to end this review where it started: the service. In a world where restaurants and businesses seem to be nickel and diming you, this place gives you that little "extra" just because which increases value and brings you back. If you have to walk the extra block to make it here vs. the pool/tiki bar next door, I highly recommend it. read more

We happened upon this place from the beach and everything was great from the atmosphere, the service, drinks and food!! The bartenders were great and use fresh real ingredients (fresh fruit, mint etc) to make the best drinks!! We ordered the Blackend Grouper sandwich 10/10, Big Mac wrap and 4 chicken tender kids meals! Everything was delicious down to the home made ranch!! I dropped by PBJ's after reading an article in a travel publication. Its located at the bottom of the Seacrest resort. This is a true dive bar poolside at a resort on the beach. Its cool how they have patches from around the globe (I believe), from military, law enforcement, fire departments, et al. My late father was in the Navy, so I was happy to see patches for the aircraft carriers Coral Sea and Enterprise. I also saw license plates fr other states giving a shout out to HH. The bartenders are cool. The only downside is the bar closes @ 8 pm. This is more of a day and late afternoon place to hit in HH. read more

It's little outdoor frozen drink place. Very chill vibes, many people are in their swim suits and flip flops. When we went, it was a little busy, and there were bees flying around the "bar" area. One of the bartenders said they were doing the day prior. Be mindful of this. There's a lot of fresh fruits and sweets and it bees love this! We sat away from the bar and didn't have issues though. The drinks tasted so good! And there was even a smaller extra cup with more because our bartender made a lot. I don't think I tasted the alcohol in mine- so be mindful of this. I really enjoyed Pool Bar Jim's! My only recommendation is that there should be an easier to find route for this bar. Going through the parking garage seemed a little uneasy and not ideal if you're coming from another nearby beach resort. I got the peanut butter cup drink and the bartenders were really kind in giving us the extra as a complimentary second drink. Views are great especially at sunset. Would recommend! read more

Hilton Head's hidden gem.. literally! It took us 30 minutes of walking in circles around the condo complex it was in, but on Avocet Road there are signs that lead you to the pool bar. You have to walk through the parking garage and to the complex's pool... it is there I swear!! There were two bars, one on the lower deck and the other on the high deck, but when we got there at 7 pm (they close at 8 pm), the higher deck was done serving for the night, so we sat at the lower deck. Mark the bartender was awesome and even gave me the leftovers of my mudslide so I got a two-in-1 deal lol, most of the bartenders I know throw the extras away, so I was very happy with this. The mudslide was great! Just what I was craving after a long, hot day at the beach. Because we got there an hour before they closed, we weren't able to try another drink, but we will definitely be back! read more

My only regret this trip. I didn't buy the banana colada or a painkiller. I was already full from eating the garbage dog (first time, and it was good). Kids had milkshakes and they looked freaking amazing. Same server we have had in years past - it was like a family reunion. Saw Jim too, he turned 75 this year. We had such high hopes for this spot but it was a major disappointment! Upon entering we were rudely spoken to by the parking attendants for the bar, who had a major attitude. I'd assume you'd want people to feel welcome! it's unfortunate this "pool bar" is beautiful but you can't even go in the pools unless you are staying at the hotel! Fun place to have lunch on the beach. Food was good. Service was a bit sketchy, but we weren't in a hurry. Dunes between the tables and the ocean but that's pretty much the case anywhere on Hilton Head. I enjoyed the "garbage burger". My wife said the blackened grouper was very good. So sad to learn about Jim's passing, but everything continues just the same with all the same workers that seemed to love the place as much as he did. Overpriced and water downed drinks. Ordered their Painkiller and it was nothing more than flavored and barely flavored at that, a frozen slushy. So disappointing. Don't mind the $15 price but come on, at least put some alcohol in it. And the pineapple wedge was the size of a quarter. I Also saw the bartender grab cut strawberries from the bar well and popping it into his mouth. The same ungloved hands he used to make the drinks. Poor attitudes and crappy drinks. Really believe they have taken their fame for granted. Strongly recommend avoiding and going somewhere else for a real drink. read more

Been coming to PBJ for 20+ years. Hidden gem. Kim passed away this year and will be deeply missed but the place is still in great hands. Service is top notch and food is pretty good but honestly, you come for the frozen drinks. Spectacular view of the ocean and pool area. Can't think of a better setting to have a cold beverage. Each drink comes in two glasses (one 16, one 8oz) so they are really easy to share. Love this place. Rest easy Jim, you are dearly missed. read more

My parents have been coming here for years and rave about the drinks. What a gem! Just off the beach and tucked behind a condo building it is awesome!! Jim is a super nice guy and so are the other bartenders. I had the Mai tai on the rocks which was awesome! Not too sweet or syrupy - really just right on flavor. The Lava Flow was tasty and we also had a Chi Chi which really brought out the pina coloada flavors. You can't go wrong here...tasty drinks and beautiful views! This place is amazing, we tried about every bar and grill on Hilton Head but this beats them all for drinks, and ambiance. It was a downpour when we found this place in late July 2024. We had to wait for the rain to break, run for it and then wait for someone to leave the bar before we could sit. All the way from Colorado and never have visited here before, It was during a squall and Hurricane, but it cleared right up. The drinks, Oreo and mudslide were awesome!!! The onion rings were excellent. The fries weren't as good as in the past. We asked for them 'well done', but they were not. It's an outdoor pool bar beside the ocean, what more could you want? The service is normally great, but I think one of the guys was having an 'off' day. When we sat down, we were not even acknowledged. One guy was working. The other one was just standing around. I wasn't even sure he was even on duty. After a few minutes, I called out and asked if we could place an order. He didn't seem incredibly thrilled. We ordered well done fries and a couple of beers. The beer was cold, but the fries were a bit undercooked. When we re-ordered, we made sure to catch the attention of the other guy. No, I did not get names. Others seems to be immediately greeted. Maybe he just didn't like the color green. We were a little disappointed as we make sure to go to Poolbar Jim's whenever we are in Hilton Head. We also make a point of recommending it to others who go visit. we will go again, but will be sure to capture the attention of the guy who treated us so well. read more

Pool Bar Jim's is awesome. The frozen drinks are the way to go. The Peanut Butter cup is iconic. I personally had the Miami Vice which was very good. The staff is friendly and pleasant. We entered from the road and it was difficult/unenjoyable to walk through the parking lot to get to the bar. I recommend more signage. read more
