We were currently visiting and wanted to check out this part of the island because of the lighthouse and thought it would make for a great photo opportunity together. Unfortunately, we ended up taking a nap beforehand and got there much later than planned, so we were worried they might already be closing down. Luckily, we were still able to grab seats at the bar. Service started off a little slow and, fortunately, it did improved throughout the evening. We decided to share the beef short rib 10/10 mouth watering with a wedge salad, and both were very good. For dessert, I ordered the espresso martini, which completely stole the show. The bartender seemed to be making one every few minutes for other guests, and after trying it myself, I completely understood why. The presentation was amazing, and the flavor was even better. I would strongly recommend ordering the espresso martini if you visit because it was easily the highlight of the night--not just for me, but seemingly for half the restaurant. The building itself is beautiful and has two floors. If you're hoping for a nice view, I would definitely recommend requesting a table upstairs. The bar area also offers plenty of seating options, including tables, booths, and outdoor seating. This is definitely more of an upscale restaurant, so expect higher prices, but the quality of the food and drinks matched the cost. One thing worth mentioning is that when driving into the area, we had to pass through security and were charged a $10 entrance fee. We later found out that if we had mentioned it to the restaurant, they would have removed the charge from our bill. Lesson learned, and hopefully anyone reading this review can take advantage of that tip. After dinner, we walked around the dock and checked out the boats. The area has a really cute downtown vibe, but since we arrived so late, most places were already closed. Next time, I'd definitely like to spend more time exploring the area during the daytime. Overall, this was a great experience, and I would highly recommend checking it out.

Great atmosphere, service and food! The views are amazing. The food was fire!!! Not mines thing disappointed. I highly recommend this place. I wish I could say more. I'm just still shocked how good it was.

We dined outside and had a really nice experience. I enjoyed a perfectly executed classic daiquiri prior to dinner. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and recommended the perfect wine pairing with my fresh catch fish. We also enjoyed fried shrimp, salmon, and pasta dishes that were all yummy. I highly recommend quarterdeck for a nice meal while in Hilton Head.

With iconic lighthouse and wraparound deck, it's one of the best places to see the sunset on the island! Reservations are required to sit in the main dining area most nights but there is a small first come first serve area by the outside bar where we snagged a table. Service is on point with the full menu and attentive waitstaff. The menu is very seafood heavy but there are some interesting salads as vegetarian options. Would love to see another entree choice added! I also enjoyed the unique take on hush puppies with hot honey.

The food is always perfection at the Quarterdeck. I usually order the lobster thermidor, but chose the shrimp and grits today, and it was equally good! The server was attentive and helpful. I sat alone outside next to the entertainer who sang and played the guitar. It was a pleasant evening experience.

Another great meal at Quarterdeck. Hubby likes the hush puppies, I tried a new cocktail. The grilled octopus, my go to entree, is always on point. It's a great place to take friends and family who are visiting the area. We walked the marina afterward. Beautiful views and backdrop for a group photo!

The Quarterdeck is Sea Pines newest restaurant. Its views are breathtaking. You overlook the iconic lighthouse and the harbor. Great picture spot! They spared no expense on furnishings and decor. Everything in this place is just beautiful all the way down to the door pulls. The servers are all very well trained and knowledgeable with the menu. They go above and beyond to make sure you enjoy your dining experience. I HIGHLY recommend reservations about a week in advance. It's almost impossible to get in the day of. The food is all amazing. Our favorite was the crab dip appetizer with the special saltine crackers. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

Wonderful view. Great service and good food at a reasonable price. We enjoyed the wait staff who was attentive and suggested a few items on the menu. Sea view is amazing. Great lunch place to see the waterway in the daytime. Well done

Dined here exactly one year ago - and had a great time tonight, too! Started with the Street Corn Elote Fingers which was amazing!!! Then for dinner, I had the Specialty Salmon with pineapple salsa and rock shrimp risotto (good, but needed a bit more flavoring and wish there'd been more pineapple); my husband had the Dafuskie Deviled Crab Cakes (yum, but he prefers a more saucy dish), and my dad had the Local Catch (swordfish) over Sweet Corn-Blue Crab Chowder (the group favorite!). And - Patricia was again our server and she was just lovely!

If you're going to spend the weekend in Hilton head island, you have to go experience the culinary play calling going on at Quarterdeck. Beautiful food, beautiful view. There's not much more you could ask for. I had the crab chowder with local market fish, I subbed out the swordfish for the halibut. Nothing against swordfish, I just don't think swordfish has what it takes to be a starter in this league. I ended up being right, the halibut was my quarterback tonight. It did nothing but shine by throwing for what felt like a touchdown every bite. It was surrounded by an outstanding offensive line of crab chowder topped with truffle oil that look like routes being drawn up for a quick first down. This was one of those dishes you're eating and eating until you look down and realize it's already gone. Luckily, the waitress threw a flag on bringing the bill and brought the dessert menu instead. The offense managed to run out some clock before a last second 2 plate conversion by Key lime cheesecake. My mouth is watering just thinking about. Unbelievable PFT. Presentation, flavor, and texture. The key lime was light and not overbearing. Perfect way to end a game after a round of golf.

My family and I came here for a birthday celebration while visiting from out of town. We made a reservation, which I highly suggest that you do. Even on a weeknight evening it was very busy in the off-season. They took us into a private room upstairs, which we mainly had to ourselves until the last half hour of our meal. Our server Tyrese was very attentive and friendly. He made sure we had everything that we needed. Everyone enjoyed the food. We shared alligator bites and hush puppies and street corn appetizers which were all very good. Everybody ordered different dishes, but nobody was dissatisfied with them. I had the blackened chicken Alfredo, which was very good and I had a lot of leftovers. They knew that we were celebrating my mother-in-law's birthday and they brought out a very nice dessert for her with extra spoons for us to share. We all ordered drinks as well. Everything went smoothly and the experience was pleasant. Being able to look out over the water was quite nice. We got to watch dolphins playing while we ate. If you're looking for a beautiful restaurant with a lot of ambience this would be a great choice. It is a walk from the parking area to the restaurant, so please keep that in mind. I believe that they have an elevator, but I couldn't say that for sure, however they do have first floor seat seating as well as a second floor.

Can dogs come and sit outside?

Yes on the lower deck, there are stairs to enter on the waterside with direct access to the lower deck.

Is it necessary to have a reservation? Specifically for the weekend?

Most definitely for dinner. We made ours about a week in advance for a Friday night.

Are leashed dogs allowed on the deck of the restaurant?

according to the owner, who answered this same question on their website: we do have a section of our outdoor patio that is dog friendly.

    What's the dress code?

nothing on HHI is super dressy - but I'd say dressy casual. I've also gone there for lunch in tennis clothes.

    Do they have indoor seating?

Yes. Great dining room with great view of water.

The outdoor seating is a nice touch, with a mix of open-air tables and some covered spots at the bar for shade. The drink menu is decent, with plenty of tropical cocktails to choose from, though the beer selection is surprisingly limited for a place that stays this busy. Most of the service seems to run through the bar, and while the bar staff was friendly, upbeat, and doing their best despite being absolutely swamped, the table service was pretty spotty. The food menu is just okay--nothing terrible, nothing standout. I ordered the Caribbean Jerk Chicken sandwich at lunch, and unfortunately it did not sit well with me at all. It upset my digestive system enough to derail one of my vacation days, which definitely colored the experience. One thing that stood out was the presence of armed security guards. Not necessarily a problem, but it does create a different atmosphere than you might expect from a casual beachfront bar. Many reviews have mentioned the parking. We stayed at the hotel, so it wasn't an issue for us but somebody sitting next to me at the bar was ejected by management for something related to parking. I'm not sure of the exact details because I couldn't hear the conversation well, but it seemed to have to do with either buying or selling a parking pass with someone else. There was another incident where an unruly patron had the police called on them after engaging with one of the aforementioned security guards. That said, these seemed to be atypical of the total experience. Overall, it's an entertaining spot for drinks and music, but the unpleasant food experience land it at a middle-of-the-road three stars for me.

I believe that everything we had was good, including the small seafood tower and the flourless chocolate torte. I believe we also got an appetizer, but I don't have a picture of it. Secondly, the service was AMAZING!! They truly made our evening so special. We immediately received champagne, they were able to seat us early, and everyone was so incredibly kind. The bartender (I forgot her name) recommended a few drinks, such as the devil's margarita, which was amazing. She even took photos of us outside and came over to our table a few times to make sure we were doing okay! I also got a dirty gin martini which was great. I cannot emphasize enough how truly special they helped make our evening. They went above and beyond. This is the kind of service you hope for when dining out. What stood out most is that it's not just your server stopping by -- the host who seats you, managers, waiters, and bussers all come by to make sure you're taken care of. Now let's talk about the food. If you're a Brussels sprouts fan, this is the place to come. The fried Brussels sprouts are served with fried pork belly -- and honestly, who can top that? The balsamic glaze on top is absolutely amazing. We also tried the short rib empanadas. They were good, though the flavor profile wasn't quite what I personally expected. The corn risotto dish normally comes with fried shrimp, but as someone who isn't a shrimp lover, they kindly accommodated my request and substituted blackened chicken. The combination of the blackened chicken with the corn risotto was outstanding -- a perfect balance of flavors. And don't skip the hush puppies. They're crisp on the outside, soft in the center, and have a sweet glaze that is absolutely to die for. We didn't get to sit outside because it was a bit cool, but the patio overlooking the beach is stunning and would be a wonderful place to dine when the weather cooperates.
