I barely have words for how great this experience was but thank goodness I do otherwise a Yelp review would make no sense. We were skeptical about a jazz dinner but from moment one entering the space we knew we were in for a treat. It is a very small and intimate space and our group of 6 got a table right by the stage. Our server was amazing and the menu was epic - everyone ordered something different and so I can't highlight one thing or the other because everyone loved it all. Don't skip out on the after dinner drinks and coffees as well! The performers we had really read the room and picked up on the energy and went through a mix of classics as well as modern like Adele. Everyone was having a great time and even singing along when encouraged. It was a great evening! Tip: Do the earlier show and get there early so you can enjoy your meal in time for dessert and cocktails and coffee once the show starts!! read more

Hi Everyone, We want to first compliment Gail your host and Owner of the Jazz Corner in Hilton Head, SC for the exceptional talent she has booked over these many years in her club because it is always wonderful. That alone would be a terrific accomplishment but when it is paired with the exceptional, savory fare they offer, the combination makes for a very special event. Their grouper or steak are always exceptionally prepared and delicious and if you prefer wine or cocktails, you have some delightful offerings. The service at the bar, or a table is wonderfully pleasant and very timely in our experience which we always enjoy. We feel the star here is the Jazz as this venue is small enough to feel the music move over you, around you, and through you which is exciting and delightful. These are very talented musicians that hit all the right notes. Their side comedy is always funny as well. Our last visit was on Valentine's Day this year (2026) offered an exceptional guest trio with their Pianist's Father sitting in the audience which was very touching. In our many visits here, over our decades living here in The Low Country, the Jazz Corner has delivered an eclectic evening which is always a thrill. Continuing my birthday celebrations I found this spot to go and enjoy...after my dinner on the dock. This was only about 9mins drive from Hudson's Seafood. Upon arriving I was shocked to find out that they charge a $25 entertainment fee for the live band :-( but, I was here it's my birthday so it was what it was....i paid it. Being out solo, my goal for the night was to go enjoy a cocktail and a birthday dessert at the bar while listening to music w/locals. And so I did but, since it was a full crowd in this small very low dimmed intimate restaurant..there was 1 of 2 tables left. I was seated along the wall with my table facing the stage & all the action in the restaurant. It couldn't have been any better seat in the house especially being solo! I was glad I wasn't at the bar for once. Food: My martini and bourbon pecan pie was delicious! Service: Was nice (more gritty is included in your tab) Ambiance: Was a whole vibe! We had such a great experience here that I'm disappointed I hadn't come back sooner. We had a 5:15 dinner reservation and were quickly seated and a server arrived to take our drink order. I didn't choose the best Pinot Noir, but that's on me. I ordered the She Crab Soup and the Duck for my entree. The soup was presented in a unique bowl and was so good. Lots of flavor and crab. My duck presentation was even better. The plate was beautiful, the duck was as tender as could be and the risotto was tasty. I ordered an espresso martini for dessert and it was really good. I'm so glad we discovered the Jazz Corner on this trip to Hilton Head. What a wonderful evening we had. This was our fifth trip to this beautiful island and we find new things to do every time. We were lucky to get the last available table for the Wednesday night show, Bobby Ryder's Great American Songbook. He is a great entertainer and look forward to seeing him again. We love a supper club and the food did not disappoint. I started with a Count Basie Cosmo (delicious!) and then a wedge salad which was the best I've had. My entree was the tortellini puttanesca with shrimp, also delicious. My husband had the prosciutto wrapped scallops and he loved it. Our server was excellent! (I think her name was Alexis). Deas Guys were very entertaining and covered a variety of styles--after kicking off with jazz, they moved into Motown and kept the crowd engaged. The classic Aviation cocktail was solid enough to order another, though pricy at $15. Wide ranging menu provided lots of options for our group. We started with the complimentary pimento cheese dip with toasts and shared the burrata plate with quality accompaniments. The Gorgonzola tortellini was creamy and flavorful, though I was slightly thrown by the cold bruschetta topping after receiving it in the dark. Had another delightful evening, featuring the Martin Lesch Band (boy, can he tickle the ivories!). The music was spectacular, and the food NEVER disappoints! Always A wonderful warm welcome and good service. I enjoyed a delightful steak on our first week at HHI, so we got reservations for the next week. I am not a fan of their take on shrimp and grits, however. The grits came out completely dry, like unto cornbread, with not enough sauce/broth/flavor! The food is great - highly recommend the swordfish, which comes with a ton of green beans and a huge mound of Gouda grits. The desserts were also amazing - my fav was the flourless chocolate cake. The place had a good ambiance. I went in December, and the place was decorated in Christmas stuff. The service was great. The mussels were a little salty, the she crab soup was good, and the crab cake was also good. The gumbo was a little spicy. The drinks were great. I recommend the Mambo Mango. The Bellini and Rum Punch were really good too. There's no cover to enter, but there is a food minimum requirement. Each person has to either get 2 appetizers/soup/salad or 1 entree, so basically you have to pay at least $30+. I would prefer if I had not gone in December, b/c the band played Christmas music, and I would have preferred to hear all jazz. read more

We saw the Fat Tuesdays and they truly brought the New Orleans vibe. They were a standout! This is a fairly small venue with great acoustics. The seating times are staggered--I'd recommend making a reservation exactly 30 minutes before show-time, which gives ample time to order and a window of well-lit dining before the lights turn down and the show starts. Food ratings (out of 10) and comments: Calamari special: 6, a little too crunchy with not enough substance Halibut special: 8, a little spicy Prosciutto-Wrapped Jumbo Scallops: 8.5, delicious but that was not risotto--it was rice. Let me tell you about this place! We were sad thinking we could not get tickets for 2 ppl. for our Wedding Anniversary. Miraculously, seats opened up 30 min before the 1st show. We flew over there. My husband and I had a couple give a remark that was borderline racist and the bartender jumped in and saved the day. She sat us at the bar with her and took care of us like royalty. She even made sure the band gave us a shout out and played a song just for us! The food was great and the show was terrific. The staff were top notch! First time at The Jazz Corner and it was memorable. It is a small venue and perfect for listening to some jazz. You need to get reservations and you pick your seat ahead of time. They have staggered arrival times so the kitchen and wait staff can keep up. The food was great. They have starters, soup/salads, main courses,and desserts. We started with lobster tempura, Cesar salad, a beet, pear, Brie salad, steak skewers, and Halibut. It was all very well prepared and tasty. We topped it off with a Butterscotch Creme Brûlée and coffee, some of the best coffee that I have ever had! Music: Phenomenal! We saw Quiana Parler with The Lavon Stevens Trio. They play together like they are family and when you leave there, you are family. Can't say enough about this place! Enjoy!! read more

This was my first time going to the Jazz Corner even though I've had a home here for almost 20 years and I've lived here permanently for four. I wish I had come sooner!. This is an entertaining way to spend your evening with guests from out of town. Even though the type of jazz, classic New Orleans style, being performed on the evening we went, was not my personal favorite, the musicians were wonderful and very entertaining. The Jazz Corner different genres of jazz as well as other musical genres throughout the week and throughout the year that if you plan ahead and watch their you are to find something that suits your tastes. This restaurant/venue is very small and intimate, so it makes the experience even more I was surprised by how good the food was. We had the chef's special watermelon salad, the gumbo, the baked brie, and a special of an Aracini stuffed with lobster and crab. All of which were wonderful. Our server was absolutely excellent. First of all, I am so upset that I do not have any pictures of the food! It arrived in the dark after the show had already started so I didn't want to be rude and shine my light and such when the band was playing. But the food was just purrrrrfect! Oddly enough, Jazz Corner is the only other restaurant that knocked it out the park for me besides Eleven Madison Park in NYC. We received the warmest greeting at the door. I don't know who the lovely woman was but she made us feel like she was waiting for us to arrive! The restaurant is beautiful! You step into a whole old school Jazz vibe. Mood instantly set! The seats are small to super cozy in our section. You will become friends with your neighbors. It's a small place and they have packed butts in seats for sure but listen besides tight seating, there is NOTHING not to love about the Jazz Corner. Service service service. Our server was on top of every single thing before we knew we needed a thing. He kept the table clean, he refilled drinks he appeared with a perfect cadence, not annoying but enough to catch anything that we might want. A total professional! Between the two of us we ordered margarita, glass of Cabernet, fried green tomato salad, chicken & Andouille gumbo, Blackened Ahi Tuna and my husband had a beef short rib or something that was on the restaurant week menu (sorry I am a pescatarian over here, so I don't always get the meat thing right) but he said it was other worldly good. We also had pecan pie. Everything was prepared perfectly and the portions were hearty. Not over the top and certainly not a rip off. The tuna was off the charts. The Pecan pie which is typically a heavy desert was amazing, now yes. still fattening but the delivery on the palette was light. We are STILL talking about that food a week later . The band was so awesome! It just doesn't get any better than great music, great food and great service by great people! Upon exiting the restaurant, the same sweet lady took the time to ask us if we had a good time and if we enjoyed our food AND we got an email the next day thanking us for coming! We did not tell the restaurant that it was my husband's birthday but he really enjoyed all of this experience! Last but not least, the Jazz Corner supports children in the local community by blessing them with instruments and music lessons at a camp. If I had to say anything negative about this place is that they will charge $25 if you bring in your own bday cake which I thought was downright shameful given the fact that people are paying top dollar for the food and tipping! The food portions are great, I was extremely stuffed by the end. I really enjoyed the lobster tail appetizer and steak skewers. They both had sauces that paired amazingly with the meats. The highlight of our trip to Hilton Head. Highly recommend! Music -- Fabulous. We saw Fat Tuesdays, and they were great. They epitomize traditional jazz. Very enjoyable. Food -- Surpassed our expectations. The steaks, the pork tenderloin, and the gorgonzola tortellini with grilled shrimp were all spectacular. The steaks were cooked perfectly and extremely tender. We ordered a couple of appetizers and a salad off the specials menu. The watermelon salad was one of the best salads we have ever had. I could go on and on. Service - Impeccable. Friendly and efficient. Amazing how the servers can serve you in an unobtrusive manner which does not distract from enjoying the music and watching the performance. Atmosphere - Very nice. The place is small and intimate. It appears as if there are no bad tables. It is a little chilly so I was glad I had my shawl to wrap over my shoulders. I just wish I had more time to eat and enjoy the delicious food before the lights turned way down. Great atmosphere, but I needed to be a little more coordinated when eating with very low lighting :) We can't wait to come back on our next visit to HHI. We are hooked! read more

OK it's expensive and tricky to get in. I don't care. This is one of the most delightful and memorable spots I have been to on vacation in a long time. It felt like a little bit of New Orleans or New York had found its way to Hilton Head. And, while expensive, the swordfish I ordered was one of the best fish dishes I have had in... the last decade maybe? It had sundried tomatoes, which made me skeptical, but this was done perfectly. And the portion was really satisfying. I'd rather pay a little more and get something really tasty and memorable that doesn't skimp on value, personally, and this was great. Cocktails were also totally on point. Menu and cocktail selection were nice, too. Service was good, knowledgeable, amicable. Ambiance - I mean it's a jazz club, what else can you ask for? Old school, in a good way. People also bothered to dress nicely, which I appreciated. It's nice to be transported to a more elegant decade. And of course the MUSIC was good! All pros. I was thrilled to learn about the role that the restaurant owners play in non-profit work and youth music programs and apparently one of the students who came up through the music program was playing with the band that night, which is super cool, and the music did not suffer for it. Im giving 4.5 stars, but rounding up to 5 feels right. A must for your Hilton Head music and dining experience! This intimate jazz lounge offers high quality cocktails and food, where they could get away with average. The ambiance is dark and intimate. You feel like you're listening and participating alongside a group of friends. I don't know if the musicians are staples here, but they're comfortable and make the environment intimate as well. The music was superb! I had a gin martini and a boulevardier and my husband had a vieux carre and a glass of white wine. All drinks were very well-made. We started with the fried green tomato salad, which was fantastic! Flavors, textures, and freshness. I then got the scallop appetizer special, which was okay. The scallops could have been seared a bit more, to my liking, and the avocado pico didn't do it for me. Hubs got the swordfish, which was good. The butterscotch crème brûlée was delish! This is a phenomenal local gem. I believe everyone who reserves to attend has their own "check in" time to attend. Plenty of available parking. Located on the south end of the island. When you book and reserve your table you can choose where you want to sit. My wife took care of all the reservations and chose a great table for two facing the stage. I didn't really know what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised. We had Alex as our server who was excellent. We started off with a 1/2 bottle of Hess Cabernet for both while I started with a Bombay Sapphire martini with blue cheese olives. It was done perfectly. We then chose the pimento cheese flatbread pizza. For vegetarians (like my wife) it does come with bacon on top. My wife will sometimes make exceptions when it comes to a great time and great food. My wife had the southwestern black bean burgers which she said were the best she'd had outside of the ones she makes herself. I had the Gorgonzola Tortellini and added the grilled shrimp for an extra $12. It was worth it and excellent. Then the jazz night begins. We happened to be fortunate enough to witness Jazz royalty with the Anderson brothers who flew in from NYC to perform Cole Porter. I've never seen such talent so close up. They typically play at Birdland in NYC. When you come to the Hilton Head area, this venue is a "must see". Keep it going. I'll be back soon. read more
