This was my first time being here. I came in around 1:00 pm and got seated in a pedicure chair. They had me waiting for about 40 mins after calling ahead of time for an appointment. Once she started working on my nails she used tools that were not cleaned or sanitized. She just went from one customer to me. Then proceeded to used a paper that was previously used for another customer for me. I attached a photo of the paper that was used for my toes. You can CLEARLY SEE THE RED POLISH!! I got green nail polish. That was all for my Toes. For my nails! Where do I even start!! Joe did gelx nails on me. I don't know what kind of glue he used but the moment he put in until the light to cure it started BURN not your normal burn you usually get while getting gelx or acrylics but it burned so bad I was about to cry. I then told him ouch ouch ouch it really burns and hurts then started laughing at me and started to mock me in pain. He then said just take it out and then put it back in, you will be fine. He never even cleaned the bottom of my nail just left all the glue all clumped up. My friend also came with me and she's about to put in a review about this horrible service with other employees. DO NOT GO HERE!!! This is a warning if you want to get your nails done at this place get them done by the girls do not get them done by Brandon. I was told over the phone that it was gonna be $55 as he was doing my nails. He cut me three times I had to go to the bathroom to put my finger underwater for 14 minutes because it wouldn't stop bleeding then I found out that it was gonna be almost $80. but gave it to me for 70 even though he cut me multiple times. Because I said something and I wish he was telling me the price while he was doing my nails. If he had told me that I would have left and stopped then dealt with the pain that I suffered for almost 3 hours. On top of that, I wished I could just ask him to cut it off because I'm not even happy with my nails at all. I'm going tomorrow to another place just to cut them off my fingers because I am in so much pain and then he dared to say no pain no gain. I felt like it was so rushed. I booked an appointment with Tim to get a full set of acrylic nails, because he came highly recommended by a couple of people on NextDoor. I am so disappointed... He used his drill thing to take off my cuticles (dry) and cut most of them and made my fingers bleed. I said "ow" and "ooh" a couple of times but he never stopped or acknowledged/apologized. He just used his nail brush to wipe some of the blood off my nails so he could keep going. My cuticles are so sore that I'm worried about going to my shift at my next job tonight... As I went to leave, he started working on another woman to put on acrylic nails and she mentioned being nervous about the pain. He laughed and told her that beauty is pain. So needless to say, I will not be coming back here. I have been having a bad day and this just made it even worse. I have gone to so many nail salons and always end up disappointed after the 2nd or 3rd visit . I hope that Tim at Ocean nails keeps up the good work because he is wonderful . Quinn for president. I had my brows waxed, and I usually get them threaded but Ocean Nails Spa was nearby. I was hesitant but it was an emergency. Luckily, Quinn was my eyebrow guru and she made the process painless. My brows looked great, and if I had the time for a mani pedi; I would have stayed. The nail salon is in a plaza with ample parking. I came in during lunch on a weekday and it was busy, but not booked to capacity. I was looking at eyebrow tinting but what I really need is microblading. Quinn was personable, knowledgeable, and she made the experience worth coming in. Horrible experience! First time at Ocean Nails. Dropped off my teenager for a fill and design. Come back to find my daughter sobbing. Apparently Linda thought it was ok to belittle my daughter on her design choice, and told everyone who passed by how ugly it turned out. What? Linda, this is your own work. She did a horrendous job, not just on the design, but the fill was uneven and pitted. Absolutely unacceptable. I hope this warning stops at least one person from having to pay for the terrible experience my daughter went through. The man who did my pedicure severely cut my toe but I didn't realize how bad it was until a colleague told me because I can't bend down enough to fully see it. I did point it out to him before I left the salon but he said "it's just a little cut" and did nothing about it!! I am diabetic & I work with homeless & inmate populations so I am EXTREMELY susceptible to infections, especially staph. I paid and I tipped but I am really angry that I was injured like this without any attempt to apologize or treat it!! I called the salon right after i realized how bad it was to complain and sent them pictures of my injury and they promised to forward the complaint and photos to a manager but it's been 3 days and I still haven't heard back from them. The technicians are fabulous including Jason, Debi, Ivy, Ann, Jenny, and John. They always do a fabulous job. We have been going to them for 10+years. New owners, 1/2 way remodeled with gaudy gold-lion adorned uncomfortable chairs, raised the prices, cater to "new customers" only - even serving alcohol/beverages which is nice, but ignoring existing customers if you are with certain techs. It is so cold (literally) with the new white marble-like floors - and they require the techs to wrap your arms and legs with hot towels that become very cold quickly making it an unpleasant experience. Also, the new owner is constantly filming everyone including the customers! This place used to be a warm inviting gem. It has become a cold mix of eclectic art deco beach with obvious tension as the new owner prances around critiquing techs. The vibe sucks. read more

I get why this place has such a low rating. I should have known by looking at the nail polish selection that I should have run for the hills. It's a giant place and only 3 people were in there. Don't get me wrong, the gentlemen who took care of me were great and attentive. The man doing my toes was extra careful with my acrylic toe, he went above and beyond, but everything just seemed off. The man doing my nails was quick and chomping on his lunch while doing my nails. My polish smeared hours later, which always tells me that the polish or something was bad. All the polish was old gel polish side kicks, that had barely any polish in it or was so old that the labels were peeling off. I spotted an OPI that I got on my nails but you can tell it had been thinned out many times. The place was just dirty and the receptionist couldn't be any more unfriendly. I would not recommend this place. Unless you're getting gel or an expensive service, they don't care about you. I wanted a nail design, but he said he could only do it if it's gel. Uhh nail design existed before gel. Maybe he thought I was too stupid to know it was just a ploy to get me to spend more money. I ended up picking a color, but the non-gel bottle he pulled out wasn't the same color as the sample. He said 'oh the gel is the right color'. Gel ruins my natural nails, so NO I don't want gel! These people are rude and will talk about you and laugh right in front of your face. After he put the polish on, he told me I was done and didn't give me anything to help dry my nails. Finally, relief has been obtained. My wife had been seeing Jason for years, and could not say enough good things about him. I had been reluctant, but it was time I let a "professional" deal with my feet. It was during the first quarter of the pedicure I felt instant relief from the pressure on the sides of my toes. This was a treat for myself because I hadn't had a pedicure for over a year. I asked if they had magazines and that was a "no." I asked if they had pictures of designs, and that was also a "no." I was told they were "old-fashioned." WTF?The woman who did my toes seemed to be either allergic to the products, very lazy, or hate her job. I was hesitant to go to a new salon but due to Covid the salon I have been using for past 6 years closed . Again , I was super impressed at how clean everything was how large it was , and the fact they were taking all precautions for Covid . They introduced me to Tim ( who came highly recommended by a few people and now I know why . Tim is a true professional and really knows what's he is doing . BEWARE! Take your business elsewhere. This salon should be permanently closed. I have been treated extremely rude by two nail technicians and I have been unexpectedly injured at this location due to carelessness by the staff. There are two nail technicians in particular one named Eva and the other I do not know her name (I think Nancy) but an older female who have treated me in a manner that I believe to be discriminatory. In the first instance, Eva became angry with me for not being able to bend my fingers to her liking while she polished my nails. I have arthritis and as a result my fingers are incredibly stiff and rather inflexible . Unfortunately this condition made Eva very short tempered with me. Her colleagues later apologized to me for her unacceptable behavior and said she was short tempered. She is in the wrong business. Three weeks later. I arrived for an appt. at 3:00 pm. I started looking for nail polish colors. about 10 minutes passed and an older female called me from across the salon ' Lady! Lady! You took too long to pick your polish. I can no longer do your nails." Stunned, I apologized for talking so long but told her that I didn't realize there was a time limit and I would have hurried if I knew. She yelled back at me "You come here all the time! You know, you know!" Each time I tried to engage in a conversation, she talked over me and dismissed me. I have never been treated like this as a customer paying for a service. It was so stunning that I couldn't believe it was actually happening. This female walked away and refused to do my nails. Fortunately two other nail technicians offered to do my nails. Both of them apologized for her outburst against me and said to me that she is "crazy" and they didn't want me to stop coming to the salon. After two bad experiences in a row, I will not be returning. It makes me wonder if I was just the unlucky recipient of a bad day on their part , or am I being discriminated against with these aggressive actions because I am a minority?? Two customers who walked in after me were treated with the expected kindness and courtesy that I should have been given. I am requesting that the General Manager is this establishment investigate my concerns. I am a 20 year resident of Stevenson Ranch, and this location was very convenient and in my neighborhood. I will have to take my business elsewhere and advise others to do the same. I deserve to be treated with common courtesy and respect. This is very disappointing and I want answers. read more

Just had the most unimaginable experience at this salon... I made an appointment for a SOAK OFF for my acrylic nails. I specifically asked for this service on the phone before even coming here and did not want my acrylics ripped off as it damages the nails and is extremely painful. I get to my appointment and the guy starts ripping my nails off. I stop him and asked if it was possible he could soak off the acrylic as that is what I asked for originally. He told me soaking off takes "too long" and that I should go and do that at home. He literally said to me "if you want the acrylics off I'm going to do it my way" which is tearing my nails apart. I literally almost fainted while sitting there for 30 mins having my nails torn off. It was the most painful experience I had. My entire body was sweating from the pain. Im pretty sure if he did a soak off it would have taken less time as the acrylics were GLUED to my nails. I literally sat there and got tortured for 30 mins while this man took chunks out my nails. I got an acrylic fill & regular pedicure on a Saturday while my husband got a basic mani/pedi at the same time.. $122 later by Tuesday, no exaggeration 3 of my nails were lifting and polish rubbing off of most. I don't get it? How did polish stay on acrylic for weeks PRE Gel polish but post, if you don't get the additional charge of "gel" even with acrylic nowadays the polish magically doesn't last on acrylic like it used to, what a joke.. so by day 7 of now all my nails lifting including 1 broke, I need to go back. I call to make an appt to have this mess "fixed" with owner of nail salon end up settling for having my service redone free of charge is what she said. Next day, I arrive and am asked if I want gel or regular polish again, well yes I will take gel this time since I'm getting my fill redone (mind you) from their CRAPPY service the first time! Low and behold after re-tipping the person who redid the service, I'm charged an additional $18 freaking dollars for Gel polish, wtf? This place is unbelievable. DO NOT COME HERE!!! I came in for a simple acrylic nail removal- the tech, instead of soaking my nails in acetone, began to PEEL THE ACRYLIC OFF! How did he do it? BY SLIDING A PLASTIC TIP FOR OTHER ACRYLICS BETWEEN THE ACRYLIC AND MY NATURAL NAIL! I was appalled and had to make him stop because my natural nail was being PULLED OFF MY FINGER. He acted as if there was nothing wrong until I demanded he soak them in acetone. He acted annoyed, saying that would take at least 30 minutes, but I told him he was hurting me and that was the only way I would allow him to continue. Now, while soaking my fingers in acetone, he continued to sigh and roll his eyes while playing on his phone in front of me. As if that wasn't bad enough, another older female technician (I believe her name was Nancy), would not stop pestering him. She came over to his station, wouldn't stop talking to him and trying to get him to hug her while calling him "baby boy" in English and the rest in a language I didn't understand. The receptionist, a younger girl who was fluent in both languages, repeatedly told her to stop because she was making me uncomfortable. Instead she continued to touch him and laugh. He did not speak to her at all and I was too uncomfortable to say anything as I didn't understand the full situation by not speaking the language. Yet she continued to act this way for the whole soak. My appointment was at 5:45 (with a tech I didn't even get to see- frankly, I don't even think the boy who helped me was certified, or old enough to be a tech, and ignored me when I asked his name) I was done and out the door at 6:30, and they close at 7. Yet the entire time I was being serviced they were trying to rush me out to the door so they could close early. They wouldn't even let me dry my hands after I washed them after the service because they had already washed and put away the towels. Every aspect of my experience was unprofessional, uncomfortable, and extremely concerning. I should have walked in and turned right back around. Do not waste your money or your time. read more
