This place is well worn through the years, but don't let the looks fool you. They offer a variety of fresh seafood, including crabs, lobster, scallops, blue crab, shrimp, clams, and crawfish, along with seasonings and food. Vietnamese owned, with friendly service. We have never purchased the live crawfish or lobster, so can't speak to that. We go to enjoy the fried shrimp and fresh fish baskets, and grab some to take home. It's always fresh, piping hot, and battered perfectly for me. The shrimp is huge, and my catfish was more than enough. You just can't buy it like this for the value and price anywhere else around here. Nothing fancy here, several tables to sit at and enjoy your meal. We saw several bags of crawfish being purchased for boils while there. We brought home some catfish and salmon to cook later on. A little out of the way for us, but well worth it. read more

I don't know how else to rate this place. We live in Arkansas and are not within 7-9 hours of the gulf. Looked this place up in Fort Worth. Our target species was Blue Crabs. They had plenty and all were alive. Myself and my grandson picked about 20. Set us back about $30. They had about every type of seafood you would want. All smelled fresh like the ocean. So disappointed! Don't do it, don't do it, DO NOT GO HERE!We drove 35 mins out to buy a sack of crawfish, they were currently $2.99/lb, we bought just under 30 lbs. Upon entering their business it smelled awful, not just seafood market but nasty deceased rotting carcasses smell. We assumed it was just a seafood smell from all the items not live & discarded seafood. I take a look at the Zatarains crab/crawfish boil tub to buy, figured I'd get it there since we were already there, WRONG, it was $17.95! I got the exact same jar at Sam's club today for $6.38. I also looked at their butter oil and it was $29.99, NO WAY! Way too expensive and marked up in price. So, we stick to just the "live" crawfish. While checking out at the register, the awful smell was even more strong, so much so, I had to complete our transaction since my husband was gagging and about to puke. I know, I know, this should have been our clue to get the heck out of dodge and leave it be, but we really trusted the "live crawfish" would be live and the smell was just an unfortunate mishap that went along with a seafood business. Now, let me be clear, we love all things seafood and shop & eat from seafood markets often and know a certain bit of stench is just part of it. Fast forward to our boil, we add lots of groceries to it, corn, mushrooms, eggs, sausage, onions, lemons, garlic, potatoes and so on then add the crawfish. The smell was still evident. As the boil goes, the smell gets stronger. We sit to eat and the smell is so bad one family member can't handle it and leaves, this is a family member who regularly loves crawfish boils at least weekly during crawfish season. The other foods in the boil have absorbed this smell from the boiling water and now over $200 of groceries and crawfish are ruined with this nasty smell that has taken over all the food. The crawfish are rubbery, gritty, dead, grey, black and just completely inedible! It should also be noted my husband purged the crawfish prior to the boil. One more important note, the crawfish are tiny! As in super small! For this far along in the season there should be some size to them!There were more dead than alive (just now dead from boil) as we peeled. We called it and trashed it all. What a huge waste of too much food and too much money!! What a shame! But lesson learned, NEVER, and I mean NEVER again will we buy from Ocean Seafood Market! read more

I wish I can give them a 0 star. So I called them to see if they have live crawfish in size jumbo or large. He said yes and it's fresh! So I drove there and was super excited to get a sack. When I walked in there was a lady behind the counter and I told her I'm here to buy a sack of select size of crawfish. She told me we don't have any in today and will have it on Sunday. I told them why there was a guy answered my phone call and said y'all have some and it's fresh live crawfish. Then a min later i saw him from the back and walk to the counter. I asked him was it you telling me that you have some fresh live crawfish in size select? He said yeah so he went to the back and pulled out 3 sacks of crawfish in select size for 4.99. Thats pricey for that size but I didn't care so I go a head get a sack. While she was checking me out and I paid I look over to my sack and knew something was not right. The smell was bad and the crawfish doesn't look like it's moving. I ask him are these are your new shipment he said yes so I ask him do you have another sack bc I'm sure crawfish in this sack is dead. He said ok, theres other two sack you can pick. I said is this all you have. He said yeah. In my head if you just have new shipment just in today how come you only have 3 sacks left. So, what should you do if your crabs smell like Ammonia? The smell of ammonia is a byproduct of the decomposition of seafood. Your fishmonger probably sold you a crab that has gone bad. To avoid getting sick, do not eat crabs, or any type of seafood, that smell like ammonia. These ppl sold me spoiled blue crabs and when I called to complain about it they laughed and said oh well. This place caught me TOTALLY off guard and was not at all what I was expecting. I was thinking I was going here for fresh fish to bring home and cook for dinner. Instead I found a little GEM that not only sold fresh seafood, but cooked it as well. It was the smell of the low country boil that first hit me. It made me immediately hungry. There was a gentleman sitting at the table eating the boil from a bag and then next to it was a plate of fried fish. Across from him was someone eating crawfish and wings. It was like a little slice of heaven. Now, it's not four star dining by any means. It's what looks like an old convenience store that's been converted into a seafood market that made room for a small space where a few people can eat in. So don't come here thinking it's spacious enough for a large group. In addition to the fresh seafood and their cooked items they also have a little grocery store to the side that has all the ingredients one could need to cook your own seafood dinner. If you take anything away from this review it's to not judge a book by its cover. A lot of fresh seafood to pick from oysters to crawfish and seafood seasoning to cook it in. I came in as soon as they opened so not everything was out on display but what they had out was covered in ice which is a plus for me, no one wants rotten seafood. I picked up 3 bags of crawfish. The first two bags had nice 3-4 inch crawfish with next to no dead ones. The 3rd bag had a lot of small ones from 3/4-2 inch. I picked out close to 50-60 dead that we're ripped in half or just gray and mushy. With paying jumbo crawfish price on a 35lb I would expect to have atleast 3/4 of the bag full with jumbos. I didn't try any of the cooked seafood in the store but this was better than dealing with Albertsons or Kroger ordering and prepaying and only getting tiny crawfish/ tons of dead. read more

After going back a few times, this place changed my mind. although their snails and shellfish still needs improvement, my edit is purely based on their cook to order stuff. Even though crawfish season is not here yet, their frozen crawfish seems to outclassed their competitors in the area. Ems kajun and blue cajun cant beat this place quality. The sauce and spiciness of this place is actually amazing and flavorful, the crawfish are decent sized. Their crabs and big clams are also great and juicy comparing to the frozen crabs at other places, this place actually have fresh live crab. Always great food. Ordered food today and it was Togo only... the restaurant was completely empty. I probably would have ordered so much more if I didn't have to take it home in my car to eat it. It's just a little tiny hole in the wall restaurant again but we were very pleasantly surprised with the fresh seafood offerings as well as other grocery items. There were even hold up whole chickens straight from the farmers. There was some vegetables and some shell products as well. CRAWFISH Review from Former Louisiana resident: They are only getting 3 stars for one reason. The crawfish were large and healthy! Top notch in that respect. HOWEVER, despite selling Louisiana crawfish boil, the "Cajun crawfish" are anything but Cajun. They are like many others using a paste like sauce that is horrific! I mean, I like garlic but c'mon I'm trying to eat crawfish here. Louisiana crawfish. With that being said, we peeled them to save for some real cooking. Couldn't even finish. If you plan to buy here, take them home LIVE and cook them yourself! Solid market but there seasoning is absolutely not for us. Hope this helps those looking for a taste from back home. read more
