    King crab (around $40 lb)
    Liz N.

Fairly new seafood market. Love how open it is. Seafood comes in daily and prices are really affordable. I purchased 7 crabs for $4.50 lb! Crazy how cheap crab can get. Other markets are charging $6.99 lb during this same time frame. Most seafood markets are cramped and fishy smelling, not here. Some of the workers here speak English which is a bonus for me. Worth the trek...

If you haven't been here, you're missing out! They have really good seafood here for a reasonable price. The owner is also friendly! They also have some BOMB muscat grapes. You wouldn't think they sell other stuff here other than seafood, but they do! I love the shrimp and the oysters. The big oysters were $1.80 each. It's honestly a great price. My parents bought over a dozen of them today 12.29.2022 and I kind of wish they bought more! They are so so fresh! I definitely will be buying seafood here more often! It's my new favorite go-to place for yummy affordable seafood! (And don't forget, the grapes are really good too!)

I used the oysters to make my butter garlic chipotle oyster on the grill.

I walked in for oysters, and they took care of me quickly. Having a place like this in the neighborhood helps. The place is clean, unlike some other fish places. I would recommend them for seafood. They have a good selection for an Asian seafood market.

    Don't go here. Sanitation

Health department asap!!!!i was walking by and tons of fish fell out of a non-refrigerated truck onto the street. They just watched! Then got a garbage can and put some in there and some back in the truck. It was unsanitary and negligent. People are going to get sick. I didn't get a video of all the fish just falling out and laying on the street

It's a feast for the senses--each corner reveals something new and exciting. The pricing is so affordable, especially for the high-quality items they offer. The bakery? Absolutely insane! Each pastry looks like it was crafted by a master. And don't even get me started on the seafood selection; it's out of this world. Whether you're looking for fresh catches or prepared meals, you're bound to find something that tickles your taste buds. Most of the employees were incredibly friendly and helpful. I give that a nine out of 10. I felt like I was on a whirlwind shopping excursion, soaking in the vibrant atmosphere and discovering treasures at every turn. I can't wait to get back home to Southern California with all my goodies! If you're looking for an unforgettable experience, JAGALCHI market is the place to be. You won't regret it!

As a Korean supermarket, this place has pretty much everything you could want, from fresh produce to hard to find Korean seasonings and ingredients. Couldn't ask for more! They also have a huge selection of prepared hot food. While you can definitely get better Korean food at a dedicated restaurant, I was still impressed by the sheer variety and convenience. I live pretty far away, so I probably wouldn't make a special trip just for Jalgachi, but I'd absolutely stop by whenever I'm in the area. And maybe next time I'll finally try the restaurant!

I did find a place where no meat would be available in SF . Once I started thinking of this place I started to map out hella meal possibilities with me creating dishes like San Francisco's native dish Cioppino and also making some salmon dishes along with some okay shrimp dishes like fried shrimp, skewer shrimps on the barbie, and scallop ceviche. The real feast on Good Friday would be getting the Dungeness Crab paired with some garlic noodles . This place has been a Mission District seafood institution and it's called Sun Fat Seafood company ( a former employee started Basa Seafood Express on 24th street). On a Spring stroll on Mission street between 22nd and 23rd streets I went inside a fresh seafood market. Inside you will see live lobsters in a tank. You will also see Dungeness Crab during crab season and also find of variety of fresh oysters selection along with scallops. You will also see sushi rolls when available along with different types of fishes. This place was the solution I was looking for to replace meat cravings and replace with seafood during Good Friday feast. This is definitely the place if you like it crustaceans and fish cooked or raw in SF. Inside Sun Fat Seafood you find some raw fish "fillet" to make your meal for " Good Friday" as some will "pray" and enjoy the fresh catch of seafood in San Francisco city by the "Bay" It's almost Good Friday so I feel "bless "I am alive and remembering those who passed away in peace may they "rest" I walk the streets of the Mission I "reminisce" and honor them on Good Friday feast as I eat some crab that's "Dungeness"

My most recent visit for lunch on a Saturday was very busy! The line was out the door but they move fast and the food comes out even quicker. There are plenty of outdoor and indoor tables where you sit wherever you. There is self service water with and without lemon throughout the location. Pros: Quick and friendly service Tasty lobster rolls, lobster chowder, and crab sandwiches Con: Parking is VERY limited. They have a small lot in the back and you can park against their fence but over the weekend it's almost impossible. There is street parking but also a little hard if you want to park directly nearby. I parked about 1.5 blocks away on the next street parallel to the restaurant. The naked lobster roll is one of my favorites because you can really taste the meatiness of the lobster. You can tell it is fresh in every way with the buttery brioche bread. The tray comes loaded with chips and a side of Cole slaw. If you come with friends, I recommend getting a bowl of the lobster soup to share. Dipping the chips into the soup is chef's kiss! If you are a smaller party, you can always get the 1/2 lobster roll and cup of soup. But the better deal is to get the soup to share on the side since the lobster roll is $39 vs the 1/2 lobster roll and cup of soup is $37. If choosing between the which lobster roll to get, I opt for the naked roll because of the freshness and it is not as heavy. The dressed lobster roll has a good amount of flavor and pairs well with the bread, it's a little heavier because of the mayo and butter brioche bread. They don't use a ton of mayo in it so it's not as bad as you may think. I've had the twin tails in the past and I can definitely say it was very easy to get the lobster out. Sometimes some places make it more difficult and people don't want to really dig in with their hands. Safe to say it was very easy to eat. Over the years, I've seen the price go up with inflation unfortunately. So I definitely still come but as a little treat to myself or if I were to come celebrate a special occasion.

This place is consistently a low quality experience as a shopper and a diner. Just some of the…read morethings consistently low that happen here and is what shoppers and diners should expect: 1.) Hot food line service is S-L-O-W. Typically the servers are what look to be seniors in their 60's and older. They don't move quickly and sometimes have a hard time hearing. That wouldn't be so bad were it not for their policy of keeping only TWO SERVERS on at a time with a cashier. The line to order is typically long and this store does nothing to relieve the long wait times. Sometimes, one will stand there for 15 to 20 minutes before they get their meal. Decision making is tough because there are so many discount deals and plans that take place that you don't know exactly what you're getting and for how much. At one point, I ordered a plate lunch that was supposed to discount at 2pm. When that time came, the cashier couldn't apply the discount because the machine or the app the applied the discount wasn't working. We all waited for 15 minutes until the system cleared. A few just bailed after 5 minutes and left their food orders where they were standing in line 2.) The store mislabels items with the WRONG PRICE quite often. Today, I ran into one pricing issue when they tried to charge me double what the price on the sign on the shelf. The cashiers insisted they were correct but when I showed them the self and they saw for themselves what happened, they refused to honor the sale price. I got the runaround to talking to a manger -- it seems they didn't have one or didn't cop to being one and I was ignored. This crap has happened to me before and where I get to the cashier and pricing is wrong. I usually just tell them to take it off if I didn't want to pay the price and do without it. Today, I had enough and wanted to see if anyone would help me but none did and these people are way out of line. 3.) There is a subtle hint of racism in the store where nearly ALL of the employees are Filipino. I think the bigotry is worse with Filipinos who are considered American by the staff. I've seen it happen where Filipinos will talk among each other about customers who are not truly Pinoy in their eyes. It's petty and trifling but is perhaps one reason the Filipino community doesn't embrace this chain as much as say, 99 Ranch or other Asian markets where this isn't an undercurrent. 4.) The mall on Westborough Blvd in South San Francisco has primarily Filipino business that are owned or aligned with the group that owns Seafood City. The mall stores are ChowKing, Jollibee, Red Ribbon with the large Seafood City store and dining area as the anchor store. There is also an O'Reilly auto shop there. On some days, the store is crowded and lines are long because staffing is short. This is the way it is all the time. 5.) Valerio bakery is V E R Y E X P E N S I V E. For example, a bag of baked rolls (12) is about $9 now. A container of 4 steamed buns (pork or chicken) is $12!! The stuff out on the floor in bags seems like it gets left out for days and most people will order the stuff fresh out of the kitchen anyway and pay the same wacked out prices. To be fair, groceries in America in 2026 is the highest I've ever seen with no chance for slowing down. Ethnic stores typically sell the same stuff in American chain stores at a cheaper price because of their clientele and zero marketing. But, I guess Seafood City thinks they are now a major chain and can charge the same prices, that, frankly gouge customers. I don't think I'll be going back to this particular spot or perhaps bail out on the chain altogether. It's disappointing to see this. They could be so much better, but this form of exploitative, insulting grocery store is getting old.

You cannot go to the Cherry Blossom Festival in San Francisco at the largest Japantown in America this April weekend without enjoying a sushi dish with salmon. One thing about seafood dishes is it's easy to cook. You can't really screw up cooking a salmon or some shrimps.
