Snacks, instant noodles, fresh noodles, packaged items, desserts, ice cream, fresh produce, home goods? Check! Everything I need. The only thing I watch out for is their berries and mushrooms. They tend to already have mold or mold very very quickly! There's been a few times where it would mold the next day or I didn't notice the mold until I get home and open the package soon after getting home. Other than that, Kukje has everything I need and the pricing is very affordable. KUKJE SUPER MARKET, one of the first Korean-owned and focused market that relocated from SF's Outer Sunset years ago but did not realize until years later that it was Daly City where they settled at 2360 Junipero Serra Blvd. Interior could use an update though seems clean. KSM is one of those ethnic markets where you can spend a dreamy time wandering the aisles, unlocking the variety of Asian food products from, Korea, Japan, China, to start. The produce section feels more like an indoor farmers market with its carefully curated and stacked fresh produce. Their varieties of rice alone is worth a visit. Loved the ramen aisle with its varieties. Note if buying noodle packs in bulk, they're located in the front of the store by the cashier stations. Their meat and seafood market in the back, also well-curated, offers cuts of beef, pork or seafood for stirfry, hot pot or barbecue. We were regulars with the pre-marinated beef short ribs, ready for the BBQ. Pick up some Kim Chee, banchan and make a pot of rice. Makes for a nice meal! KSM also offers hot prepackaged meals, sushi, banchan, to go. There also a small eat-in cafe located next to the takeout. You can order hot tofu soup, K-style fried chicken wings along with their barley tea. KUKJE SUPER MARKET was a staple while living in SF and continues to be staple in Daly City. I've been doing hot pot at home, and this is one of the more affordable places to buy meats and veggies. Compared to the similar bigger chain Asian grocery market , prices are 30-40% less here which is great for budgeting purposes. For hot food, I got a chicken Katsu rice plate for $9.99, and it was plenty for a single meal. They also have kimbap for $8.99, which is a crazy good deal considering the portion size. I ordered the #39 Beef broth noodle soup with brisket. I received a small tray of banchan and a bowl of rice. Soup was milky and had a nice beefy flavor. I love this supermarket so much. There are two other Korean supermarkets in the area, but they are way overpriced. This one is authentic and cheap and has a large selection. They have anything Korean you would want and also a large variety of Chinese and Japanese stuff. It's also great that they have ready made Korean meals you can just grab for pretty good prices. They also become 50% off later in the day. They're pretty tasty. The staff are friendly: one pointed out to be one that an item that I bought had a broken package and let me grab a new one. My daughter wanted sushi and to play at the park for her birthday, so we skipped the usual sushi bar or restaurant and tried this Asian market instead. I saw the Yelp reviews and photos and figured we'd give it a try. It looked pretty good and had solid stars, so we headed straight to the deli...and wow. Such a great selection of hot, cold, and fresh options. It was perfect for running in, picking up food, and heading to the park for our feast. The staff was pleasant and helpful with my naïve questions. I didn't really peruse the rest of the store. I mostly stayed around the deli section and maybe one aisle over. The store seemed well-kept and clean, and there was no unpleasant odor. Honestly, I was a little intimidated by not being able to read some labels and worrying I might grab things I wouldn't like. Really affordable and well priced. I come here for the raw salmon for sashimi and make my own sushi at home. It has one of the cheaper prices I've seen for $22.99 a pound. (Jagalchi sells them for $30/pound) and Hmart for $35/pound) I also LOVE getting their Kimchi seaweed. They are so good paired with a sushi bake or salmon rice bowl. I swear by this seaweed. Their bulgogi kimbap is also amazing and again, very affordable. I love Kukje and will always come back whenever I need Korean groceries. read more

I'm taking one star because they didn't have fresh seafood and I was looking for that to complete my meals. The parking lot is also small and can get busy over the weekend! One thing I love and keep coming back for is the store's own Nabak kimchi - the white Kimchi. It seems to change seasonally ( as it should) so it's never exactly the same but it is always delicious! There are a variety of cold and hot ready made food that are decent. It isn't the best Korean food that I had, but good enough for the price you pay, especially if you go there in time for 50% off deal at 7pm. However, I recommend that you get there before 7pm because most of the food like sushi or rice bowl lunches get loaded into carts and baskets around 6:30 by people eagerly awaiting the staff walking around with 50% off stickers at 7pm.
