Where on earth do I begin? Wish I read reviews before going to this dangerous nail salon. First trip in I need a new set put on and the technician used the edge of an unused tip to slice and pry my old tips off. She said it's "better and faster than soaking them off". Not faster and so very painful. Like another reviewer stated, it tore into my natural nail bed and caused a bleed or two. The rest of my manicure was ok but not what I anticipated from a nice looking salon. Returned 3.5 weeks later for a fill with a different employee. When she was using the drill to remove my cuticles, she nicked my skin along my index finger. It stung but didn't really bleed. Frustrating that I'm in pain both times I try this salon. She finishes the mani and I go home. 3 days later the finger she nicked with the dirty (reused) bit was now sore. In 3 more days my finger is so infected that I can't work and have to go to Urgent Care to have it painfully lanced and drained. The infection was working it's way into my knuckle and I couldn't bend my finger. The lab tested the culture and it was MRSA (staph infection). So glad I was a generous tipper to the salon employee.... NOT! Fast Forward 2 months and now my natural nail is rotting off and I have the joy of it looking horrible for probably a year. RUN don't walk away from this place. I am lucky that I was proactive about my finger or I could have had permanent damage to it. And now that I've seen their responses to other reviews, I know they could care less about their customers and only care about the money they are making. read more

I've never had anything but great experiences at Ocean Spa. They are easy to get an appointment with usually have a lot of techs working. I am never worried about cleanliness as everything is pristine. On my most recent visit, they have all new chairs that are sparkling white and have the massager channels built into the chairs, very comfortable!! The pedis are always great and never have issues with gel coming off like some other places I have been. There are several different types of pedis you can choose from, but even the cheapest package is great and you feel refreshed. I always recommend ocean nails over most places in town! read more

About 15 minutes or more later when my friend arrived we got sat. She was given a girl to do her nails that was nice and started working right away. I sat and waited another 10 or more minutes, so we are about 30 minutes past our appointment. NOBODY helps my son. I asked over and over. One guy finally comes over and says they'll do my sons nails and his toes when we go for our pedicures. Ok. The guy doing my nails was rude. Every time I showed him a color or picture he said no, we don't do that. What I ended up with is beyond mediocre and I don't like it but I was focusing on my kid. Still nothing from anyone. We go to get our pedicures next and they only started two chairs. Left my son out. I gave him my chair and I demanded another. My son sat for another hour in water with not one person coming over. I was mad. I demanded help. Some lady came and did his toes in 5 minutes. Didn't even let him show her what he really wanted so he picked something else. No lotion no anything. Got up walked away. Didn't even attempt to do his finger nails. I got done and I was pissed. Nobody said anything to me or him. Went to pay. $367. WTF?! Oh charging me for my friends toes and nails. Revised my bill $207. For what? I didn't get what I wanted my toes are lame dude put me in collagen and walked away. No idea what I was supposed to do. I know they didn't charge full price for my sons toes!! I paid and even tipped the rude guy who did my nails. He asked where the tip was for the lady who was rude and dismissive to my son. My Wife wanted to come here to get a pedicure before leaving for vacation. I was asked to join her and as a guy, I am not above getting a pedicure. Judge me all you want, I do not care. Lol. I've been to a few different spas and this one is my least favorite. The service was like warm at best and I felt like part of a herd of cattle being recycled in and out. Service felt rushed and wasn't relaxing in the slightest. The tech who did mine did a good job and seemed to know what she was doing. I'd like to trust that people want to do their best and care about the level of customer service they provide, sadly I cannot write that about ocean spa and nails. I came in to get my acrylics tips (not put in here) removed and have a manicure. I was a walk in, noticed they were busy and made an appointment to come back a few hours later. When I came back, there was lots of discussion between my nail tech and the front desk gal about the service I required. I didn't understand why as this is a pretty basic request but whatever. The nail tech Ahn clearly did not want to be doing my nails. She was rude from the start. As soon as I sit down, the tech was rough with my hands, complaining that it would take too long to remove my nails...umm ok, I thought that's why I made an appt.?!...so not wanting to upset this rude woman more I said, ok, well can you at least cut them down and clean them up. She grabbed a rough drill and littlerally drilled them down as close to my skin as possible. There was not even any room to shape and make them pretty. They were crooked, sharp and warped from the shape of the drill. When she did my first nail I said, oh my gosh, that's short, and she rudely said, I'm not done yet. I basically held my breath through the rest of the uncomfortable appt while I watched this woman destroy, and I mean mutilate my nails. When that horrible 5 mins was over she proclaimed herself to be done and I was just shocked!!! The result was horrifying. I spoke to another nail tech and the front desk but no one was willing to help me resolve this issue...all they had to do was put me back with someone that wanted to do their job and give me a little manicure. Alas they still charged me (why I paid I don't know). Even though I complained they refused to accept their absolute terrible level of customer service and the front desk gal said sorry for Ahn's behavior and left it at that. Came in at 4 for a pedi with my boyfriend and friend... I can see 10+ ppl on staff. My friend and I got service right away.. my boyfriend sat with his feet in the water for 50 min before he got up out of his seat and was just over it. When they seen him getting up they said "5 more minutes". I'm like... huh?! I came to relax with my people and this was not great service 7 woman that sat AFTER us are all already having service before he decided to get up and leave. We won't be back here. I sent the tech who agreed to see me at 5 a text to confirm my apt. She sent me a text saying, she couldn't see me at 5, and to go at 4:30 because the salon was closing at 5. I got there before 4:30 and waited 10 min to be seen. When she finally saw me, she went on to blame me for my nails lifting ??? How would I be to blame ?? I paid 60.00 for a full set and I got a horrible job done the first time. All I wanted was for it to be corrected. She redid the work and was a little Upset while doing it. Towards the end I expressed how grateful I was that she got to see me again to fix it only for her to say she couldn't see me anymore and embarrassed me next to the other client next to me. NEVER AGAIN!!!! Horrible customer service! I am absolutely appalled at the way I was treated during and after the services. My daughter and I went here today, 6/15/21, what a mistake. The front office lady was very rude, had a pedicure and manicure with a friend. We were able to sit and visit during our pedicure but we were separated during our manicures. My foot bath was cold. I ended up with a Bubble on my gel manicure only hours later. When I called to see about how they were going to make it right. They made it feel like I was Inconveniencing them. They could not see me for at least another 1 1/2 hours. I told them that I don't live in the area. Now I wish it didn't tip her $20.00. Came with a friend at 9:30am for a pedicures, eyebrow wax and fills. The pedicure was alright but nothing really impressive. Even with upgrading, the best part was the hot towel. The sugar scrub was short lived and the massage was subpar. My eyebrows were executed perfectly except that the technician got wax in my baby hairs along my forehead. When it came to fills, the younger gentleman who did mine insisted on removing my existing nails for a new set. I didn't put up a fight because I've had it done in the past and it usually isn't too bad but I instantly regretted it. He was far from gentle and DESTROYED my nail beds, causing them to crack and bleed throughout. It was extremely painful and he really showed no mercy regardless of me telling him he was being too rough. While my nails bled, he continued with whatever stinging fluid he put on top of each nail and as I winced, he said it would go away once he started applying the acrylic powder. It did not. I asked for square french ombre and instead of a pink shade, he went with a nearly gray shade of white - not what I requested with my photo reference. After requesting SQUARE 3 times, the technician still shaped them coffin and claimed they were square. He also used too much clear gel on the top that it dripped on the sides of my nails and had me re-filing it off at home. I left in pain, feeling totally ripped off and knowing I was not going back. Now that I've returned to my usual salon, I was shown just how bad the technician damaged my nails. They were the wrong size and dried blood was showing through the acrylic. They needed to be carefully removed AGAIN and my usual technician was 10x more gentle and gave me such a better experience. read more

So disappointed today....first our favorite techs are not longer at Ocean Spa... so we thought we'd give someone else a try. It was easy to just walk in without an appointment. Although, I did leave two messages..one on Yelp and one on their answering machine...neither was answered. I think the young man who did my mani/pedi was fairly new as a tech. Didn't do a bad job, but did manage to clip my cuticle to bleeding. Not a good thing! Also, when I go for a mani and a pedi, I will not again accept a manicure while sitting in the pedi chair. The the first lady cut down my nails without asking, almost clipped the ends of 4 fingers as she did it. The second lady came in to unevenly paint my nails and didn't approach the cuticles. And the clear coat is more on the tips of my fingers than on my nails. They also left my cuticles a wreck. Today i Treated my pregnant best friend to a nice deluxe pedicure which includes a hot stone massage and we added on the wax treatment at the end. It's one thing if the massage isn't on point or the nails aren't 100% whatever we get it, that happens. My girl was in pain the entire appointment. Kenny cut her multiple times with the file. She asked him multiple times to stop! And he kept insisting. He also used basically a cheese grater on her heels which left her with slices that are still burning right now. He didn't use the hot stones for the massage which are included in this service, so we had to remind him. And he never finished the service off with the wax. Her polish would have looked better if we let my 9 year old step daughter do it. I'm sorry this review couldn't be more positive as my experience was good which is where the 1 star comes in. He cut my original nail, which Was my whole length, and all I do was just a little thin coat of acrylic over the top with gel polish and he made me cut my nails because he said that they were subject to fungal and what's that was alarming so I had him cut my nails down and then he went and put tips on, and then he had them shaped oval And they were not oval they were pointy . Sharp point. I paid $70 for service that I was not happy with. I let him know that I wasn't happy with, and he still said I still had to pay so I did. I went back in the next day and asked for someone else to fix them to take and remove, and they would not let me see anybody else, but the guy that did my nails, and he then told me that I just needed to have them repainted again not very happy I will not go back. I have been here a few times and my nails have always looked good. My gel lasts for 2+ weeks and does not peel or chip. I have done walk ins and appointments and they always do their best to accommodate clients. My only qualm is their cleaning procedures. They put an individual bag in the tubs for pedicures, which I thought was great. But I was watching the last time I was there and I never once saw someone sanitize the chairs between clients. This was both in the manicure and pedicure stations. This is very concerning in normal times, but especially during Covid times. Additionally, while they do have sterilizing machines, it looks as if they reuse their nail files which I am not a fan of. For these reasons, I will not return, and I hope they update their cleaning standards. read more

I have had several good experiences here - but all it takes is 1 bad - and this was really bad. Total waste of $35 and my time. The technician was on their phone most of the time - had to redo my thumbs b/c they both peeled immediately. Once I got outside I could see how awful every single nail looked; painted on my cuticles, completely missed a strip on a nail, bubbles and bumps. When I walked back in (after paying 2 min before) and showed the cashier how awful it was they said they would fix - I don't have 2.5 hours to sit in a nail chair - I wanted a partial refund and they refused. They offered to fix it another day, again - I don't have to time to have the work redone. I am disappointed as I thought I had found a nail place I could count on. I will never back. DO NOT COME HERE for gel or sns nails. I came here on Saturday to get sns nails done. I am an attorney and I like my nails to look nice for work. I chose white, and they looked nice after I left and on Sunday but by Monday they had started to turn yellow - like yellowish and dirty. I didn't have time to go back to the salon on Monday so instead I came back on Tuesday. I honestly thought I would walk in and they would just change the color, or at the very least, offer to take them off. Boy was I wrong! I walk in and show the receptionist. She tells me, oh yeah the white always turns yellow - it's because of makeup, too bad for you. She tells me I need to pay ANOTHER $45 to have them fixed!!!! 3 things wrong with that: 1) There is no way makeup turned them yellow, that is a BS excuse for a faulty product. I use brushes to put my makeup on and makeup washes off. 2) Even if it was the makeup, WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU USE A COLOR THAT TURNS YELLOW ON WOMEN?!!! 3) I was wearing makeup when I had them done - If someone had told me that they would turn yellow I would NEVER have chosen white. So instead of being rude to the receptionist, I asked to speak to a manager. The receptionist talks to a woman who is sitting 1 foot away doing someone else's nails. Without even looking up, that woman tells me I need to pay another $45 to have them fixed!!! At this point, I just wanted them off - not even fixed, because I'm in the middle of a trial and my nails are yellow. The woman, again without looking up SAYS THEY WILL CHARGE ME TO TAKE THEM OFF! I just left - I couldn't believe it. I have never been treated that poorly by a business. I have been getting my nails done for years and have never encountered such horrific people. This is still the only place I return to for manicures and pedicures. I recently came by with a friend on a weekday morning. I had called the day before and made appointments. We were there shortly after they opened and there were only a few people there. I enjoyed the massage chair and the foot massage aspect of the pedicure. The polish choice I made didn't work out because the tech said the polish was cracked and I needed a new one. She found a similar color and applied that. The color wound up being an orange red when I got outside into the light but it was ok. Next time I may plan ahead and pick up a backup color. I had the hot stone pedicure and a basic manicure. Both were perfect and the relaxation and pampering I was looking for on a day off. I appreciate the cleanliness of the shop and I also appreciate the quietness of the pedicures and manicures. No extra chat. No small talk. Just the needed questions, politely, and a nice quiet time. This time for my friend and I to catch up.
