I have been here on several occasions and its ok, not amazing. Depending on how busy it is correlates to how the service will be.

The only good things about this place were the food, however it was over priced, and the cocktails. This place holds itself out as a fine dining restaurant, with prices of a high end steakhouse. However, the ambiance was not reflective of this. They were blaring music on a playlist that comes standard at your local sports bar; blink 182 and other popular bar songs. We were astonished. There must have been some sort of event that the decided to seat in the very center of the restaurant where the guests were walking around from table to table, being so unbearably loud to the point it genuinely was similar to an experience at a local pub or dive bar. I have been to countless high end steakhouses and other restaurants so I know what the ambiance is supposed to be. We were expecting a nice, elegant dining experience and instead we got a sports bar dining experience with the prices of a Michelin star restaurant. For $300 I would have rather gone somewhere else where they actually give you the dining experience you are paying for. Additionally, the staff have 0 customer service skills and was not reflective of an "elegant" restaurant whatsoever. I have had a higher quality dining and customer service experience at lower-end restaurants. Additionally, we had an issue with the bill which we didn't realize until the next day so we had to call the restaurant to discuss this. The host who answered the phone couldn't even let me finish my sentence explaining the situation before she continuously cut me off, giving unnecessary attitude and some poor excuse which bared no relevance to the issue (which she would have realized had she let me speak). I then asked to speak to a manager who answered the phone with 0 telephone etiquette. He just stated his name bluntly when he answered the phone like he was bothered he had to do so; I guess he forgot that is part of the job description. He was, however, helpful and solved our issue but the lack of customer service and phone etiquette from both the host AND the manager were again equivalent to what you would expect from a sports bar. I would only recommend going to this place for happy hour, otherwise, take your money to one of the other great steakhouses in Atlantic City, such as Old Homestead or Vic and Anthony's where you actually get the experience you are paying for. read more

I've been here twice with my in-laws, they come down to AC often & the service has always been great (my father in law is a regular at the casino & requests the same waiter he's had for years so they're always taken care of). I have a hard time eating at casinos because the prices seem ridiculous to me, but this is a steakhouse so the steep check is a given. My steak was cooked perfectly but my mother in law's & brother in law's were under. I was so excited during my stay at Ocean to find out there was an American Cut within the hotel. Coming from NY and loving my visits to American Cut in the city, I jumped on the opportunity. We made reservations for 6:30PM on a Friday. The restaurant is big, dimly lit and less formal than the NY restaurants. To start, we got the Chili Lobster and Chopped Salad. The lobster was really interesting, lobster pieces in a chili soup, which had smoky, cajun finishes. Really interesting! The salad was everything you'd expect in a salad, nonetheless it was good! For entrees, we got the Porterhouse for 2, a side of creamed spinach and potato purée. The porterhouse was aged well and flavorful, and cooked to our liking. The creamed spinach paired with the potatoes were both really heavy sides. For future reference I would've went with one option being a bit lighter. Overall I was satisfied with my experience and the service was good as well. Though I don't think it lives up to the New York locations, it was still a good experience and fulfilled my steak cravings! read more

The restaurant was full of loud little kids, the music was way too loud and we were seated basically right next to the kitchen which is open so the harsh fluorescent lights flooded the room and the sound of the kitchen staff yelling orders made it less than relaxing. The decoration of the room itself is very nice. Although it's in Ocean, there are no tables with ocean views in this restaurant. The food was pretty delicious but definitely pricey. The menu is okay. Our server brought us bread for the table and some butter which was delicious! I had the filet mignon, the other two people in my party had the ribeye and the surf and turf. Everything is ala carte of course so we got asparagus, a Caesar salad and potato purée for the table. The sides are most definitely enough for two people and we made it work just fine for 3. We all got mixed drinks and they were delicious and strong. The steaks were all perfectly cooked just like we liked. The potato purée was delicious. The roasted asparagus was a little blah and I probably wouldn't order it again. The Caesar was one of the best Caesar salads I've had. Our server was wonderful. Calm, friendly, accommodating. Service is definitely on par. The meal cost $422 for the 3 of us after tax and tip which is a ton of money. Most items on the menu were normally priced for a steak house but the entrees were overpriced as well as the drinks. We had a good time here but I likely wouldn't come back. They start you off with some bread rolls that have everything bagel seasoning on them and omg they are amazing with the veggie cream cheese spread it comes with. My steak was burnt and was supposed to be a ribeye?? It came out totally black for $53. My husband's filet was completely rare which is not how he ordered it. There is no salt or pepper on the table and you have to hunt down a server to ask for it. Totally horrible experience for over $250 dollars. I will not be back. I heard the table next to me ask for tarter sauce for her crab cake. She was onky provided a hot, spicy sauce on her plate. She was told they did not have tarter sauce.. The rolls come with cream cheese and not butter. The only thing good was the scallop appetizer. I was so glad to make it down to Atlantic City and come to the Ocean, and when it came down to dining, my boyfriend and I jumped at the chance to go to American Cut since we love steak. We knew it would be a real experience with pricing to match, so bring your wallet (or cash out your winnings!). We made an 8PM reservation and came a little earlier just to sit at the bar and enjoy a drink. The space is dark, but spacious and beautiful, slightly away from the hustle and bustle of the casino floor. We had a lovely female bartender recommend drinks; I went with a full bodied and beautiful Cabernet (I believe it was Round Pond), while my boyfriend went with the My Cousin Vinny, their elevated take on the Old Fashioned. After closing out, we made it to our table. Our waiter, Patricio, was lovely and gave us a full detail of the menu, as well as what dishes he preferred. We ended up going with salads (chopped for me, Caesar for him), two petit filets (mine black and blue, his medium rare), and sunchoked spinach and fries for sides. But first, we had one of American Cut's staples: their free biscuit with everything bagel seasoning and a veggie spread. I loved every warm, flaky, salty bite. A good steakhouse has things that differentiate it, down to free bread, so my boyfriend and I knew we were in for a meal. The salads themselves were larger than anticipated, but full of flavor and acidity. While my salad had a bit more Greek flair with a sharp vinaigrette and salty feta, my boyfriend's Caesar was creamy and rich. Our steaks arrived cooked to perfection, with my black and blue steak having a delicious and crispy char, if a little warmer than I normally prefer. We learned that American Cut normally flambés larger cuts of steak, specifically their porterhouse and tomahawk. Despite this, we thought our steaks were cooked well, and had a good marble and buttery texture. The sides though, were something else in all the right ways. The sunchoked spinach was a less traditional take on creamed spinach, loaded with rich Fontina cheese. My boyfriend and I agreed that we could've just ordered that and have been set. We also enjoyed the French fries, which were large, salty and perfectly crisp; the perfect starch to a good steak. On our most recent stay at the Ocean Resort, we came to American Cut for the HH menu and we had a good meal. We ordered everything from Hanger Sliders to Avocado toast to Latkes and all of the food was good. Not the best faire at the resort but certainly not the worst. It seems that the food was better than the service. I'll withhold the name of our server because I really think he was having an off night. Forgotten items, and general disarray . I really believe he meant well because he apologized repeatedly for getting thing upside down or backward. He served a full decanted of honey with my after-dinner coffee, for instance... The ambience is very nice and while I won't go as far as to say it's romantic, its a nice night out. The table we had was nice-size with plenty of room for all of the different things we tried. Brussel sprouts were great but turkey wasn't good and it was just a gross plate of food. Very disappointing. Cocktails were very average. Our table for 2 was attached to a little waiters stand which was in the middle of the room. I ordered the crab cakes and they were simply amazing. I wanted more! My husband ordered the ribeye and this is the reason I wanted 3.5 stars. He ordered medium rare. He got medium well. How is that 'even' possible at a steakhouse like this? We told the server who promptly got us another steak, this time pretty much rare but we'll eat it, rare is better than well done. But it had no seasoning at all on it. No salt no pepper it was so bland. We asked for salt/pepper so we could season this very expensive cut of meat. We ordered two salads, the caesar and beet salas. both were phenomenal... the tomahawk steak with lobster... cooked perfect, tasted great. Lobster wasnt too spicy... chili lobster means... it's made with chili... I'm amazed at people saying it was too spicy. Had a side of asparagus.... 8 pieces with pesto portions were huge for a high end steak house! We had two drinks an espresso.... then dessert.... we ordered the key lime pie... great take on the classic... best dessert we've ever had. The service was wonderful and inviting... our server Adem was extremely friendly.... the manager was checking on everyone and making sure everyone was happy. We are staying at oceans and decided to have dinner here, we did not have a reservation however they were able to seat us at the bar, the bartender was lovely and made a great espresso martini, unfortunately that is where the positive ends I had the lobster tail and is was just okay, the disgrace was my husbands steak, he ordered medium and it came out raw and cold inside, he send it back and received the same steak way overcooked, it looked like a hockey puck, of course we send it back and opted to not ordered anything else, we asked to speak to manager who came over and was completely uninterested in our complaint If you are called American cut and charge more then Ruth's Chris is the Palm you should be able to cook a steak exactly as ordered Never again read more
