That's cool , smaller table 8:03pm 7 ppl came strolling in, no reservation , got seated I went up and ask why I'm not being seated yet and he started to explain to me how I have 5 ppl and they have to do this and that . Well, why was a party of 7 without a reservation seated before me ? Stared me down and told me they are working on it I left and went to Amada and got seated immediately What's the point of making a reservation?!? Goodness, do their steaks suck. Medium rare at this restaurant means medium to medium well. What kind of a steak restaurant doesn't know how to cook a steak? That poor, $59 12 oz filet... My friend got the bone in rib-eye, his reaction was pretty much the same. It seems like they cook the steaks and then allow them to sit around while they cook themselves and finally get cold... I will say that I made a nice meal out of their sides - mushrooms, mashed potatoes, spinach, etc. Also, we only had a few glasses of wine bc the markups on their bottles are so obnoxious. The bread. Oh lord the bread is delicious. Disappointed no view of the water except when you enter the restaurant. But when I called for a reservation I asked for a view of the water. ThAt didn't even exist and they said okay. Haha but that was probably the hotels reservation problem not the restaurant. Crab cake was one of the best ones we have ever had. Cocktails were perfect. First of all, I just want to say that our server Adem was excellent 5/5! The 3 stars would be for the food and the overall experience. We were originally planning to go to Dolce Mare but the place was closed on a Tuesday night, and American Cut was just next door. I expected this place would be overpriced, and boy it did not disappoint! We did not have a reservation but were seated almost immediately. They placed us right next to the cashier and right after noticing that a private conversation would be impossible while the server was literally within arms reach processing people's tabs, we asked to be seated elsewhere. We were moved to the adjacent table with a comfortable distance from the cashier. They attempted to seat 3 other couples after us, but all of them refused the seating. Finally, they were able to successfully convince an elderly couple to sit there (their 5th try). The everything bread was great. We had a steak tartare for appetizer: it was bland, and was prepared somewhat different. They used some kind of vinegar/vinaigrette without lemon or mustard, no capers, no salt, and topped it with crumbled hard boiled egg instead of a raw egg yolk. We shared a 30oz wet aged cowboy steak cooked medium-rare: the temperature was perfect, and the outside of the steak was well seasoned but the inside was tasteless. The broccoli rabe we had for a side dish was overcooked and chewy. We paired our meal with a bottle of Bordeaux which I truly enjoyed. For dessert, we had a keylime pie with coconut sorbet- this was perfect. Overall, it was a very expensive mediocre steak. Nothing exciting, and not worth overpaying for. read more

My husband and I visited yesterday and the only dish we liked was FRESH OYSTER which is definitely no need to cook! First of all, bone-in ribeye doesn't have any flavor, inside of meat was partially undercooked and baked potato was cooked right temp but too blend. And the last one, Chilean sea bass was a bit dry which means this one was overcooked even though it served with sauce. I was really excited to visit you but it was a very disappointing experience. Pound for pound, the worst dining experience I've ever had. So bad, I'm putting this review on multiple review site. Not one aspect of this meal was positive...Which is shocking due to the reputation of the other American Cut locations. No need to go into all the details, so in short... Service: Awful; Our lead server was very sweet, but would disappear for blocks of time and would reappear without any of the requested items (drinks, bread, etc). The runner was incredibly rude. When one of the members of our party tried to send something back he told us that we were wrong and refused to bring the dish back. Oh, yeah, the manager...hitting on the hostess. We ordered espresso's after the lackluster meal. After waiting 15 minutes we asked the manager to cancel them, that we've been waiting forever, and added some more editorial around our meal. He couldn't care less. Didn't offer any solution to try and make us feel better about this terrible experience. Food Of the 11 dishes, 10 were cooked incorrectly. The only steak that was right was the one ordered well done. The sides were bland, the mac and cheese seemed to be out of a box. To be fair the fries were good - but I'd go to a diner if fries were that important. Avoid the caesar salad...unless you like your caesar salad to be more of a bland egg salad. I have to agree with these reviews. The servicE was poor and the food was poor. I had to get my own drinks because I was waiting too long. Had to cut our steak with a butter knife. Wasn't odds errs a refil on my half a cup of $3.75 coffee. 18 $ martini tasted terrible. And the sides were so overcooked they were tasteless. I feel ripped off. We decided to have a nice dinner out in AC . My Buddys birthday we ordered the porter house for two and a few side dishes . I figured how could you go wrong with the porter house steak . Well let me tell you they did go wrong it was the toughest peice of meat . We ordered medium rare parts were over cooked grissly and some parts raw . We are two big guys that like to eat . I should have sent it back and left the restaurant . We were gentlemen paid and tipped the server . We took what was left with us figuring there's homeless people that could have the rest of our meal . My friend suggested we could feed it to the dog we were traveling with . Came here with my boyfriend for my birthday. We were seated 20min late. We ordered scallops as an appetizer and they were completely charred. Our reservation was for 8:30pm we didn't get our entrees until 10:30pm. Once we finally got our steaks it was bland, not one ounce of seasoning or salt, anything. What made it worse was that it was completely charred as well. We had to cut the top layer of the steak and mix it wish mashed potato's to give it some flavor. If you're going to charge $78 for a steak it should at least have some flavor. Overall, we both agreed we would not come here again, completely overrated. read more

i ordered a caesar salad and when they were serving it to me, my child and i saw a hard boiled egg and we spilt it. now most of the time it tastes like a normal boiled egg and the yolk is yellow but when i saw it, it was a light yellowish. My daughter ate the whole thing and it wasn't even a lot and i start to see her make a face of disgust. For a second I thought she was exaggerating but then i took a little bite and it was horrid. First of all I cannot believe I took zero pics other than my martini straight up with blue cheese olives. However that goes to show you how delicious the food looked AND tasted! We started with the scallops which were absolutely delicious. I had the filet (medium) with crab oscar. My husband had the filet (medium rare) and we ordered a side of brussels sprouts plus we had a little bit of the mac & cheese that our grandson ate. Besides the food let me just say the service was top-tier. Michael Fagan was our server and he was exceptional from the time we sat down until the time we left. There were other staff members that supported him but I must say credit goes to Michael. Have dinner here, have drinks here, have a good time here ..... you will not be disappointed! Stopped in on a Saturday night a bit early and sat at the bar. Cocktails were adequate, but nothing really exciting. Wine list was also fine, but nothing really amazing. I ordered the cold shellfish tower. It looked great but no one took the time to really describe what was on it, and a note on the house made hot sauce that was not cocktail sauce would have really been appreciated. Oyesters were poorly shucked, with a LOT of shell residue. The kicker was the (VERY) bad oyster that any decent shucker should have detected that was included. The shrimp also not full peeled, with lots of legs left on them. The tower was filling, so I ordered a wedge salad to go with it. It was frozen. Literally frozen. I gave up after that, not wanting to risk $125 on a steak. No acknowledgement from the manager that there was a problem, no offer to knock a few bucks off, no nothing. Go if you hit the jackpot, otherwise head down to Old Homestead in the Borgata. read more

For a "fine dining experience", this place was anything but. Noisy, tables right next to each other. Took an hour to get my overcooked steak. Then the waiter took away the food and didn't charge me, but I was still hungry! I have had better experiences at Olive Garden! Definitely will not be back. From reservations to being seated etc. our server was fantastic his name was Patricio! Also the guys who brought the water and bread they were pretty cool too. The drinks were just ok - Subpar. The atmosphere was nice , social distancing did take place , masks were worn. We ordered the Tomahawk for two with the 2-eyed (faced) potato with horseradish, butter and the sunchoked spinach. We asked for the medium well, but received our steak medium rare which was still bleeding and we couldn't eat the steak. We didn't want to complain so we made the best of it because we were so busy enjoying each others company but we were disappointed. There must have been some miscommunication there with the staff and cook because My husband asked for medium well steak. The sunchoked spinach was good and the horseradish potato was actually good , the horseradish gave some kick to it. Im not sure honestly if I would come back to this place because it was pricey for just sub-par food. We ordered some desert the special of the day it was like a custard but even that didnt do it for me either. My drink was good raspberry drink forgot the exact name. I wish this business nothing but success going forward and to definitely look at these reviews and improve and make sure the staff and cooks are aware and make sure the orders are accurate. Pretty damn good, the lamb chops were perfect and a larger portion than usual. The brussel sprouts were amazing, I'd kill for the recipe. The cocktails were perfectly made, the only thing I'd change is that the wild mushroom side had more pearl onions than mushrooms. That's not worth a ding, just thought it was a little odd. Visited with family and friends before a concert and while the quality of steak is very good, the service and price were a big miss. We had a very rude waiter scold me as I was trying to help stack dirty plates to be cleared as I do often to help the wait staff. He nastily told me to stop as they "have a system." I was extremely apologetic and felt very uncomfortable the rest of the dinner with his treatment of me. I've been to many fine restaurants in New York and the surrounding areas and for a hefty price tag I expect the service to be exceptional and this was far from it. Also, we received some of the most microscopic oysters I've ever seen. I honestly laughed when they reached the table. They should've offered to bring some more to compensate or waive the price altogether because what was served in the photo was a joke. Table runners need work, you don't want to see the table busser casually throwing garbage on the floor - while cleaning the table next to mine, the table runner grabbed a toothpick from the table tossed it on the floor, not by accident, but on purpose. Shouldn't see that at these prices. As far as the food, I had the crab cake, halibut, and the Mac and cheese... everything was super tasty but very pricey. Crab cake was very tasty, but the portion size was small for the price at $21. Halibut was outstanding, moist and and light with incredible sauce. I have been to Ocean Steak about 6 times and then 2 times when it was American cut. Dinner is usually pretty good, I comp my meals so Im ok with what i get. my expetations are kept in check, but I would not be to happy if I was paying for it. Our waiter was great, although I had to ask twice for our bread, the waiter doesn't usually bring it to you, the runners do, not happy about that, the waiter ended up bringing us the bread. I had 2 appetizers, the scallops (you get 3) and the crab cake (1). the scallops were good but they ere like room temp. ugh. the crab cake was delicious. my wife had the lobster tail, which she has had previously, she enjoyed it very much. I ordered 2 entrees, I wanted a lobster tail but did not want a 10 once steak as you get with surf & turf. Never seems to be enough to fill the gullet. I did a lobster tail entree and my second entree was the 18 once NY. For 15 dollars more I get an extra 8 once of steak, even though its not a filet. The NY has always been very good, so the size out weighs the cut. My steak was very flavorful and delicious, the lobster tail looked small compared to the shell it sits on, looked like a 6 ounce tail on a 12 ounce shell, why do they take the tail out of the shell, only place I know that does this. Usually they will ask you if you want them to remove it from shell. It was oddly small looking compared to the shell. My first bite of the crayfish looking size tail, was cold. Yes cold, not a hint of being warm, cold. What the heck. I was livid, I complained big time. I use to work in a restaurant, I am very understanding to things being a little off. But this was flat out cold. The waiter said I will take it back and heat it up, I don't like doing that, again I worked at a restaurant and unfortunately have seen a few pissed off cooks doing some shady things. They want to take it off the bill and want to remove it from my plate, not so fast, I can still eat it even though cold, it was cooked at some point to perfection. The waiter then came back and said they will bring me a new tail for free. I appreciated that and again was not one to complain. So I was cool with that. The new tail came out, again the presentation is outside the shell. I question the actual size of the tail to the shell, but whatever, the waiter ask is it hot. I was not to thrilled that it was way over cooked and had to chew it like a sneaker. the waiter could sense and knew where I was going with this and stopped me and said is it hot, I was tired of of this tail ordeal and said yes it is, again I didn't have to tell him what he knew. He doesn't cook the food and I was very appreciative of his service and efforts. not the quality experience i have been accustomed to at Ocean Steak. So since Ocean Casino is closed I figured now would be the perfect time for a positive review. Me and the girls went during restaurant week to try the special menu. All I can say is it didn't disappoint! The waiter suggested an amazing cab wine and kept our glasses full at all times! We had the Ceasar salas and thick cut bacon as an appetizer. All I can say is I could eat that bacon everyday. Obviously I had steak and it was perfectly cooked. I was a little shocked at how empty the restaurant was during our reservation time but it did start to fill up later. Highly recommended the Cracker Jack ice cream! First time back since it has reopened. I was thrilled that it was opening with the new casino. We had a later reservation on a Thursday night. Only a handful tables. Our server Juan was extremely knowledgeable. I recognized Randy the manager as soon as we walked in. It was if he never left and lived there while it had shuttered. The food was great. The goat cheese and beer salad was amazing. We had a NY strip and Bone-In Ribeye with two sides. We didn't want a full wine bottle so we each ordered a glass of Kenwood Cab which was surprisingly delicious. However, American Cut has always had impeccable wines. We were celebrating our anniversary and noted it on the reservation. The couple next to us was given a complimentary dessert after dinner drink. Our"s was never acknowledged . Went again on 12/30 to see if anything changed since my last review. Here is what I experienced: 1. I made a reservation for 5:30pm a few days earlier. I wanted it later but there were none available for a party of 1. I left a message but no one got back to me. 2. When I entered (5 minutes earlier) the hostess said a table will be ready in a few minutes. She told me hats where not allowed (I was wearing a baseball cap) so I removed mine. As we walked to my table, I noticed men were wearing caps at tables. I informed her but she says this is the lounge where hats are permitted. This policy is strange to me. Why is it allowed in the lounge but not in the restaurant and why didn't she offer to sit me in the lounge? 3. My server greeted me right away and provided me with the wine list and cocktail list. I ordered the Argentinian red wine when he said it was not complex but overall nice wine. It was very good. 4. I ordered the 8oz filet mignon with the twice baked potatoes. No appetizers since I had lunch 3 hours earlier. The steak and potatoes came in a few minutes. First the steak did not look like filet mignon. It was not a round cut as I received the last time. Also, I ordered it medium and it came medium-well; there was no pink in the middle. (Last time, I ordered it medium-rare and it came out too raw in the middle so that is why I ordered it medium) 5. My server asked if I wanted coffee and dessert. I said no thank you and he provided me with check a few minutes later. I was Abe to use both my computer dollars and a dining certificate with no problems. 6. When I left, the hostess did say goodbye to me this time. 7. I don't know if I will go there in 2021. Not even 5 minutes into our apps my wife noticed our ribeye and lobster mac and cheese coming out - she saw the dishes get taken back into the kitchen. After asking our server - Juan (who provided solid service - except for the entree error) we he confirmed it was our meal and apologized. The manager came over, apologized, and comped our 2 martinis and said the food would be re-fired. After tasting the ribeye - dry and bland - and not creamy at all mac and cheese with 2 tiny pieces of lobster, we determined we would never return. Our waiter showed up to take our order came back with the wine and then returned once he saw me pouring my own wine. Our food took a long time and then the waiter never came back to check on us as he was too busy setting up tables for some other larger party that seemed to be the priority of the entire restaurant. He brought us our check after a good 20 minutes of us being finished eating, and still never asked us how any of our dinners were.
