Came here for a little weekday getaway with a couple of friends. We got the garden view penthouse and it was truly wonderful. It was spacious and had nice views. It wasn't as near the ocean as I thought it would be, but the morning views were beautiful. The boutique hotel is family owned. The place was clean but the TV and some appliances could use a bit of an upgrade. The deck where you can hang out was my favorite. Very intimate and romantic at night Loved everything in this place except: - Hot water takes awhile to get on. And sometimes it gets too hot you have to shut it off again and find a new spot, it doesn't easily adjust - The faucet in the bath has really high pressure so beware, they did put a note in - No service workers after 10pm I wish they had breakfast included but you have to order food from a nearby place and that is fine. There is a gas station and a mart next to it so that was convenient.

We try and stay here at least once a year. We happened to arrive later in the day and the day was cloudy. But don't let the weather stop you. The town wasn't as busy and we had a nice dinner at Sam's chowder house. (They had many gluten free options) The garden room has a partial ocean view. It is very spacious. We honestly had a good nights rest. You figure because the hotel is so close to the freeway it would be louder, but it didn't disrupt our sleep. The breakfast spread had many options. Cereal, bagels, croissants, hard boiled eggs, mini breakfast sandwiches and some granola bars. Water, juice and of course coffee! We hope we can come back soon

Stayed at the Ocean View Inn for 2 nights over Valentine's Day weekend. My husband and I stayed in room 1, the Ocean View Penthouse Suite. It was around $350/night for this room, but it is worth it. If you have the extra funds, book this room if its available, you will not regret it. It a great room for honeymoons, anniversaries, and other special occasions. This room came with everything- comfy bed, huge couch for lounging, electric fireplace, dining room table, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and a nice bathroom with a big shower. The room also comes with a huge balcony with chairs that look out to the ocean. We enjoyed everything this room had to offer. Everyone we encountered who works at the hotel is super friendly. It is a small hotel with a only a few workers, so it honestly felt more like a B&B than a hotel. We were happy to support a small business than give our money to a big hotel chain. The lobby/breakfast area was also decorated nicely for Valentine's Day, which we appreciated. Since the hotel is so small with only 9 rooms, it is very quiet. We didn't hear any noise from any of the neighboring rooms, and when we closed our patio door, we didn't hear any noise from Highway 1. I defiantly recommend coming here for a weekend getaway.

My husband had just passed away and we needed a little getaway. This was the perfect destination that soothed our souls. The Seals are within walking distance to view! The ocean is literally within steps of this cozy, beautiful inn. Hiking trails all around within walking distance! They let us use comfy bikes everyday which we took advantage of and biked to Half Moon Bay and a few ocean view restaurants. This is a beautiful and clean Bed and Breakfast! We had a gorgeous view of the English Garden from our spacious room. The daily breakfast included fresh berries, egg and cheese, fresh croissant and granola! The unlimited European lattes added a nice touch! We felt so spoiled with the homemade cookies in the afternoon and the free wine tasting in the evening around five. The entire staff was so friendly, helpful and made us feel right at home. My daughter and I look forward to returning! Absolutely a hidden gem!

We found the Anchor Inn to be conveniently located to all of the things that encompassed to us a perfect overnight getaway: beach access, coffee, brews, good food, and scenic views in a safe space. The Anchor Inn checked all the boxes and then some. Spacious enough for 2 adults and a baby (we noticed other families in the units next to ours), the Inn has private stays that include a kitchen, bathroom with shower/towel/amenities, TV in sitting room, chairs to sit on balcony, bedroom with TV also, and heated floors! I usually walk around barefoot at home (not a surfer, but this most be an awesome feature for those hitting the waves all day), and I was pleasantly surprised when my toesies were warm all day/night..such a unique and fun feature! Customer service is excellent and they checked in on us by cell to see if we needed anything additional. Another great feature is your own parking right next to the front doorway. Very convenient for multiple trips with a little one! As mentioned, down the driveway you can get to Grocery Store Outlet, Soul Grind Coffee Roasters, Humble Sea Brewing, and a few other eateries and shops depending on what you're in the mood for. There's also a safe and convenient pathway (check the open field slightly to the left) that leads directly to the water if you're looking to board, bring the kiddos to play, or just looking for a nice walk alone or all the romantic feels. Did I mention you can also get directly to the Taco Bell in Pacific this way? Just a 10 or less minute walk if you're looking for the cantina vibes! Whether you're looking for a getaway with a friend or two, solo trip, or bringing the family, I can't say enough great things about this hidden gem. We're already thinking of making this a tradition for fall 2025!

The staff was friendly, and check-in was easy. The room was decent-sized, but still kind of basic. We had a fridge and a microwave, but no safe. We got a handicapped room, not sure why, but the balcony made it nice. The shower had super low water pressure. The remote blinds barely worked with the controller and the "fake view" on the roller shade was kind of comical. Unfortunately, the closet furniture required brute force to slide open or close the door. We took advantage of the free breakfast both days, and the menu was exactly the same each day. The eggs were pretty good, and the sausage was not bad either. It would have been nice if they had a bit more fruit selection; they just had bananas. Our flight home was delayed going back, so I asked for a later checkout (even just an hour), but they said no. I thought that was one of the "perks" of my Bonvoy status, but I guess not. Since it was a Sunday, I thought they could have let us stay one more hour. They did hold our luggage for us and seemed very surprised when I tipped the clerk at pickup. At 10:59 am precisely, "Housekeeping" was knocking on our door, seeing when we were going to leave. Close by the "Shore Shack" is a friendly little diner with decent food. Oh, and one important note --- T-Mobile has virtually NO signal inside this hotel. Your phone will be on SOS the whole time. Luckily, their Internet wifi worked pretty well, but I hate using unsecured networks. We'll be back for this event in the future, but given the cost, I'm going to look into other hotel options in the area as well. It wasn't a bad experience, but it's definitely not a 5-star experience.

This hotel is walking distance to a few restaurants by utilizing the walking path along the water. The only negative about our stay was the temperature in the room. They also offer gluten-free bread and pastry options, which I appreciate. Coffee, tea and juices included. There is no hot food. One thing to point out is the rooms do not have air-conditioning. This typically isn't an issue because half Moon Bay runs cooler and comfortable temperatures for most of the year but my husband and I do prefer a colder room at night time so we slept with the door open. There was no ceiling fan, but they do have a couple of portable fans stored in the closets for use. Shower in our room had low water pressure, so not great for those with longhair. The hotel is right next-door to Sam's chowder House so easy walk. Beach access-there is a beautiful walking path right downstairs, which you can access from the hotel. The only thing between the walking path and the ocean is some rocks. I was told by a local that the water directly in front of the hotel is not swimmable but there is beach access with some water about 5 minute walk down the path. The path is smooth so easy for strollers, bikes or other means.

The front of house staff were very nice and welcoming and answered all our questions. Now on to the less desirable part of our experience..... As we decided at the end night to grab a cocktail to take back to the room, this is where it went bad! To provide the full picture, there were 3 ppl at the bar, enjoying their drinks. One table in the far back that a server was helping. I asked for a mojito only to be greeted with, "ya that's not gonna happen! We don't make those here!" A simple, "I'm so sorry unfortunately we do not have the ingredients to make those here as we have a limited ingredient list." Would have been appropriate. A smart mouth comment does not elude customer service. If you don't like to work in the industry, find a new job!! Our drinks were subpar, and a lesson in customer service could go a long way. I would start with the basics. Even simply asking my husband if he would like to upgrade his spirit in his cocktail vs just quickly pouring and slamming a drink down. I strongly recommend your team reading "Unreasonable Hospitality!" It may make you think about how you made a lasting impression. For me it made me feel like I never want to come back. And, yes, I work in the hospitality industry so this was unacceptable! Do better! This is how one bad experience can make the lasting impression! UPDATE 7/29 I want to call out the Hotel Manager, Cecilio Reyes, for his "Unreasonable Hospitality"! He called me immediately to better understand the feedback that was provided. He went out of his way to pick up the phone and listen to what I had to say. This means more to me than a $10 drink at the bar. This in fact it shows that they truly about doing the right thing to ensure they keep a customer. You have no idea how this small act sends a message to your guests. I hope your leadership sees this to see how you truly elude unreasonable hospitality and ensuring that your customers return. My issue was not for anything other than. ensuring that others learn from the impact it could have on someone. Thank you, Cecilio Reyes, for your professionalism and attention to this situation that is now taken as a learning opportunity. I will be sure to ask for you the next time I book directly with your hotel!
