I recently had an amazing dinning experience at this seafood place. As a Portuguese seafood enthusiast O can confidently say that the seafood there did not disappoint. Our waitress was super friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. Came here on Tuesday evening with my wife and kids. So glad that they have Happy Hour every Mon-fri 4-7pm! We started with $1 oyster/each which really fresh and can't get enough with it. We ordered Oceanic Combo and it was awesome pair with the Oceanic Boil sauce. Was surprised the server was really sweet and honest, they even told you that the crawfish is out of the season so they have it frozen. But we tried it and it wasn't bad at all. Oceanic Boil is a cozy place and my family loves it here. Thankfully, none of us has allergies to seafood especially the crab and shrimp. They play lively music but not too loud, so my parents love it too. My dad and I love the strong drinks to partner with the carbs. One detail to improve is the parking space, because at peak hours you have to wait for available spots and sometimes it takes to around 5 mins. That's a down if you are really hungry. read more

I was really disappointed with my experience. There was dirt in the shrimp and weird texture which was really off-putting and made me question the cleanliness of the kitchen. The food overall lacked flavor -- nothing stood out or tasted fresh. On top of that, the seats were uncomfortable, and the prices were way too high for the quality. One of my favorites seafood spot in NYC. Need to drive few miles from home, and its hard to find parking. But its all totally worth it. Food is really good, snow crab, shrimp, lobster and clam with garlic butter. My husband prefer the spicy Oceanic Boil sauce. The service was great, the staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The atmosphere has a fun, casual vibe, kind of like a diner mixed with a bar. One side of the restaurant seems to be more of a party area, while the other side has that bar/diner feel. They also have an outside seating area. Theres a live band that plays, which adds to the energy, though I'm not sure which nights they perform. Overall, it's a solid spot for good food, great service, and a relaxed yet lively atmosphere. My coworkers were worrying about parking for the 4-5 hour party so I got worried as well (got meter parking the previous time). Good thing I drove around and found so many spots on a side street 2 blocks away. The tables were set up, leaving a small space at the far end for the food and dancing. Would have preferred dimmer lighting for dancing but it was fine. Brought our own speaker to play music. Buffet style for the salad and mains; appetizers were brought to the tables. Meatball apps were a bit salty. Liked the penne a la vodka, chicken francese and the steak. Service was still great. Had option of unlimited drinks/alcoholic drinks and they were brought quickly. Have to remember this place for parties. Or have drinks/eat in the other room where the bar is (I remember there was live music there).
