While the bar had been closed, the fight had spilled outside down the block. Of particular concern was that the owner had neglected to replace his outdoor camera, and the police had noted several incidents before that. The following Monday, I decided to pay a visit, order a cider, and take in the atmosphere. At the time, the bar was pretty empty, except for a few patrons up front and empty seats. While the cider was good, the Irish Whisky Bar was truly not maintained, with broken glass and graffiti in the men's restroom, and it was not even appropriate for a grunge or dive bar. In summary, the owner really needs to take care of the establishment. Personally, I would have shut them down until everything was repaired, including replacing the outdoor camera, which is now a stipulation for maintaining their liquor license, as voted upon by Queens Community Board 1 at their monthly meeting.
