Staff not friendly, my black Jack dealer Chris has attitude he is being bothered to do his job. While playing blackjack a casino employee in chair next to me counting chips, that was a first. Showed up at 9am for breakfast and 10am hold em tourney. Only friendly employee was the outside security guard, who explains restaurant does not open till 10am and breakfast gets served at poker table. I have been going here since I turned 21. I'm a huge poker player and they host poker tournaments on a daily. Not only is this card room amazing, but the food is as well. I'm upgrading this place to 5 stars (even though I have a few gripes...see below). I've been going here for a little while now and it's the bastion of poker in San Diego County. The casinos have consistently disappointed me so this place is my go-to place for poker now. I do wish their weekday morning tournaments weren't so fast (10-minute blinds). I do wish they'd go back to the old frequent player tournament program they had last year....the 'free-roll" tournament for players who play 20 hours of cash a month SUCKS. I do wish they'd fire one of their dealers who is CONSISTENTLY rude to players. I won't name him here but if management contacts me, I'll gladly discuss this. He's arrogant, EXTREMELY grouchy and ill-mannered, and absolutely the worst dealer here. He sat down to deal a cash game today and I stuck it out for a few hands but had to get a table change to get away from him. He's absolutely horrible!!! BUT, when I changed, I sat down to gladly see one of my favorite dealers: Jeff. He's consistently friendly and an EXCELLENT dealer. He's the polar opposite of the guy above. I played for about 30 minutes before I had to go but tipped him (even though I hadn't won a single hand at that table...was running bad) just because he's so great. It's not just a movie, but also a place where hardcore degenerate Texas hold 'em players go to see if they make their draws by the river. Pot odds be damned. There's some ridiculously loose low limit games at 1/1 stakes with a $20-40 buy in, where people largely play for a chance to hit the bad beat jackpot. There's also 2/2, 2/3, 5/5, and 10/10 no limit games that get a lot of play. They even spread a $25/$50 no cap cash game with a minimum $1,000 buy in Friday nights that brings some real high rollers to the joint. Oddly enough, in our hero's experience playing here, the games are softer on the weekdays because it seems that more skilled players are willing to travel farther on the weekends to play at Ocean's. Rules aren't posted here, nor are they really enforced. Rarely is anyone reprimanded for string betting, playing soft against friends, or inappropriate language. This is probably the most lax casino in terms of rules enforcement in the greater San Diego area. After playing a few hands here at lower limits, you'll undoubtedly be questioning what the dealers consider to be a "forward motion" with your chips. The food here is only served to table players and the menu's not too bad. Full on meals start at $3 and the selection and quality isn't that bad (for a casino). They've also opened an attached sports bar last year which has some good happy hour deals from 5-7 PM (such as 1 or 2 dollar beers) for those who aren't playing. This is not a casino, this is a card room. Let me explain. In California, you can't have casinos, which is why only "Vegas style" casinos we have are on Indian land. A card room is primarily for poker and for California style gambling. California style gambling means, no dice, no slot machines, no to many types of table games, and different rules on common games. Gamblers scroll down to "GAMBLING", but if you're just looking for a low budget party keep reading. The bar is small but cozy, drinks are good and inexpensive. The food is good and very inexpensive. Sometimes they have live entertainment but it is amateur night to say the least. Luckily after a few drinks you no longer notice. The decor is unpretentious, atmosphere is laid back, and their service is 'good enough' (for the price). GAMBLING This is a great poker room. They have all kinds of poker, limit, limit with kill, no limit; holdem, omaha, with all kinds buy ins and limits. Most tables have bad-beat jackpots. Most days they also have daily tournaments. Use good judgment playing poker; there are a lot of experienced players here, so don't play with your rent money or you might end up sleeping in your car. If your skill level is "I saw this on ESPN, it looks like fun" or "I play for fake money online", you have been warned. They do have blackjack, but make sure to learn all of its "California - no bust" rules before you play. The game odds are fractionally better for the player BUT the lower casino edge is completely removed (and then some) by the collection. I have made money on it playing short aggressive sessions, but here time is not on your side. The Caribbean Poker is just laughable. No one who can do simple arithmetic will ever sit down on that table and yet I often see that table completely full. The top payout on that table is 10 to 1 ... for a straight flush! Need I say more? I saved the best hidden gem for last because it is one of a kind. Nowhere else in the world of gambling can you play at even money odds except at this casino's pai-gow table. It has NO commission and NO collection. That's it, even money. So how do they make that table worth their while? 2 words: degenerate gamblers. Gamblers who just let it ride until they lose it all, then go to the ATM and do it all over again. I've seen it too many times on that table. Stopped by here on the way to San Diego, the nice sign next to I-5 made the stop irresistible =) Newer, super clean place, and a very, very friendly and professional staff. They allow pretty deep buyins (100-300 for the 2/3 for example), so you can surely make some money if you sit there and play it cool and wait. There are plenty of fish but at least they don't make it the wild wild west (like at HGC for instance). Most of the players are pretty bad, so that's always a good thing. They even have a call button for service on the tables that the dealer can push so you don't have to keep looking around and shouting for food or cocktail service - why can't the other places do this???!!!! I just wish I lived closer, but I guess from now on my 2 hour drive to San DIego is going to take a few hours longer ;) read more

I used to come here all the time, and when I mean all the time I would come here "just for dinner" and hope that the burger and fries combo didn't cost me over a $100. PRO's *Action - The best poker action within a 45 mile radius. Get on a fun table with talkative people and you'll stay longer just to hear the wisecracks. *Food - Where else can you have a burger and fries for $3? Honey Garlic Chicken is pretty popular too. They also have good dinner specials for those that want a full dinner with dessert. *Black Jack available - Not as good as the local Indian casino's, but at least its there if you want to play. CON's *Bad Beats - Don't cry when your K-K gets cracked by a 8-9 suited because you slow played them on a $1-2 No Limit table. It happens, it's a drag, but suck it up. I'm a regular at Ocean's 11 and I love this place. All the dealers are friendly, it's clean and the remodeling of the bathroom and bar is awesome. The food is great and cheap, and the free steak and lobster deals on Tuesday for 3 hours of play can't be beat. Living in Mission Viejo, it's way better for me than driving out to Commerce or Hawaiian Gardens. There's never traffic and it's a beautiful drive with the ocean views. The poker games are structured better. You can buy in deeper at the 2/3 and 5/5 Hold'em games whereas at the Commerce and HG you can only buy in for 33 bigs or 60 bigs for the 2/5 (for HG anyway. I believe commerce you can only buy in for 200 max at the 2/5 WTF). The remodeling of the bar is actually great. A lot of TV's to sweat any of the games, and like I said...the food is great and easy on the wallet. Helps after a bad beat. If you're ever in the casino, hit me up. Went to this place to watch the ufc pay per view as it was confirmed to be played here. We went in and the place is basically 3 huge open dingy, dodgy feeling rooms with cheap card tables throughout. There are no pokie machines here or any other games than the sit down card games. Even at the tables, the atmosphere was horrible. There is a small bar attached to the front which isn't much better. It seemed to be full of creepy old men and hookers looking for creepy old men. All the TV' s around the place we're playing around 3 different stations in total and there was no volume coming from any of them. The fight did not play there either and no one on the floor knew anything about it. I was excited for a casino and to be honest, I've been to better casinos in 3rd world countries that use school desks for there tables. This place was horrible. I recommend having a shower close by if you go here as you will come out of this place feeling dirty. I'm ting to think of something nice to say about it but I have nothing. They have a small restaurant/bar on the left as soon as you enter the casino. Immediately you may be greeted or chased down by security to verify you're of age. No biggie. I sat at the bar and this wonderful filipina lady quickly greeted me and took down my order. I got real lucky that day, because it was happy hour and most of the beers were only $4!! Score! I ended up plowing through 3 beers before my food arrive. I got the Carnitas bbq Nachos and their Asian dish. Both, were very filling and enough to feed 2 people. I have mixed feelings about this place. This is my third time playing here and I only play Black Jack. The immediate area surrounding the Casino seems a bit seedy but they have security and the place is fenced in. As far as the Black Jack. I'm glad they got rid of the commissions for the dealer, they used to charge $.50 a hand but this might have been due to some gambling law that I know absolutely nothing about. This place is a card house, not a casino, so different laws and no slots, roulette, craps etc. Now instead of charging a commission, they have the option where one of the players can cover the bets for the house and play against the other players. If you decide to do this, you're instantly the least popular guy at the table, and justifiably so. The DIRT, the last 3 times I've been here, I've seem the same guy wandering around the Black Jack tables. He looks like he's drunk and disheveled, but I think that's his normal look and intentional. He always jumps in on hands with small bets and suddenly forgets how to play. If you spend that much time in a casino, you should know the basics of Black Jack, I don't think it's a coincidence that I've seen him 3 of 3 times. He takes the bust card, hits when the dealer shows a 5 and he has 17, doesn't know what to do with 2 8's etc. Very Very Fishy. The whole table seemed onto him this time, I pulled my chips every time he sat down, but he only sat down when someone was on a role. I managed to make a few hundred bucks, (the reason for 3 stars) but I doubt I'll be back. The place is in need of renovating and the walls are still stained from cigarettes. Ocean's Eleven is the perfect place to get your quick poker fix. It's conveniently located right off I-5 in Oceanside and is only a half hour out of UCSD. Those were the days in college when we would come here for some fun poker and great food. I like it here because it's basically a huge poker room with little else. I think there's a few blackjack tables, but mainly two big rooms sectioned off. I stick to the 1-1 NL because it's cheap with only a 40 buy-in and won't burn a hole in your wallet. The players are usually locals and they are pretty friendly. The dealers are also cool and joke around with you. One of the main reasons I love Ocean's is because of the food. Everything on their menu is cheap, cheap, cheap. You can get any Chinese plate for $2.00-3.00 The cost of a filet mignon with a baked potato side used to be $5.00, although I'm not sure if they changed the prices or not recently. Drinks are always free except for alcohol. I've always wanted to try the coconut shrimp because they always look good. I can stay all day here, playing poker and eating good, cheap food. Ocean's has a few downsides. The parking lot is pretty sketchy and on busy nights, you have to park across the street in a gated parking lot that supposedly belongs to them. Another thing is that since the blinds are so low, you have a lot of players doing crazy things that catch you on the river, but if you are decent, you can make money off the bad players in the long run. Thursday through Saturday nights are the best times to go because it's busy and you have a lot of visitors. The other nights are usually filled with locals who know what they are doing. read more

My personal poker spot. I've driven up here for years from San Diego. I love the food. Dealers are competent & friendly although they tip share. Good not great tournament options. Player card benefits are very good in my opinion but I'm not that involved in other player perks programs. I play lower level NL poker hands (2-2 - $100 max buy-in). Nice looking Casino, comfortable chairs and very tough games. Biggest issue for me was the noise. After they remodeled the place the California and poker games are all in one big room. The poker board is the main culprit when calling names to fill the seats. They keep the volume way up. The noise level on a Friday night hit 89 decibels on a noise meter I downloaded onto my phone. Ninety decibels is equal to a train whistle at 500 feet. The staff seems oblivious to all the racket so my request to turn it down was ignored. read more

( there are horse bet and black jack but most ppl go there for playing poker. ) Food and drink is good and cheap ( not only better than other casinos also better than normal restaurant). There are routinely tournament and lots of special tournament. Most game are holdem. Special tournament can attract to 200-300 ppl. Stuff are friendly and poker environment are generally good. I'm not sure about higher limit cash game but in lower limit ppl are friendly ( even they lose money) Over all there are always action you can find and ppl are friendly compare to other places Due to low limit game size and friendly environment it has lots of senior player (or vice versa). Like the other reviews Oceans 11 is a poker room. The ambiance is weak as you come in, it reminds me of a cafeteria with t-bar ceilings and poor wall decorations. There is a mural of the "Rat Pack" that is some sort of dated tired theme they are trying to achieve. Poker is poker so I won't get too deep on that aspect. The dealers are nice, fun and seem to enjoy their work. The people running the casino are professional and helpful. On to the food. I've never seen anything like the menu at Oceans 11. You are first drawn into all the different varieties of food options, that make making a decision difficult. Mexican, Chinese, pastas, salads, appetizers, breakfast, hamburgers, stir fry, it just goes on and on. The next thing that catches your eye, is the prices. You feel like you got a menu from the 1950's $1.00 for a Cesar salad, $2.00 for taquitos with generous portion of guacamole, $2.50 for a patty melt with tons of french fries. The Asian dishes are heaping and look good. The service is so so, but I'm busy playing poker and who cares. Oceans 11 is in serious need of a makeover or a designers touch. If they have been to Pechanga or one of the nicely done Native American casino's they could see how to warm the place up and create some ambiance. Here again, it's just a card house and most of the for lack of a better word "trailer park" clientele probably wouldn't care if it looked nicer. I've decided if I were to go back to Ocean's Eleven it would be to get drunk at the bar and nothing more! Saturday night met up with some family for a retirement party and had the worst service ever! First off they have one server in the dining area all night long for drinks and food. I order dinner fish n' chips which came with a salad and dinner rolls. Salad came out fast but I waited forever for my fish n chips and when they came they tasted like crap as I'm taking my second to last bite the waitress comes by and says "Oh ill have your dinner rolls out in a min I just put them in the oven" shouldn't I of gotten my rolls with dinner???? Ticked me off!! So I get the rolls 15min later they looked doughy and grey and they tasted like they looked..........Gross!! The rest of the night went on with drinks and allot of drinks to make up for the shitty dinner I had hours before, the entertainment started at 9pm and it was great! Please don't come here for blackjack. This place is a glorified card room (not in a bad sense) so poker is the only real reason to show up. Playing any of the other table games will cost you a commission on every bet (not smart when the odds are already against you). The poker here is great, you will find a wide range of skills and minimums (though the two are not always correlated). At the $1-$1 (NL, $40 max) tables you will see the very old and the very young. $40 max buy in means you have to make you move quickly to get to a playable stake around $100 - but it also means that once you make it there are plenty of small fish bleed.
