The WORST, most unfriendly, and cold RV Park I have ever stayed in. They provide tall wooden blocks to every site, as the park is on a slant and the rows of identical packed-in 5th-wheels and 3/4 ton trucks, made me feel like I was staying in a storage yard. No globe lights, red checker table clothes, splashing in the pool, BBQs, or happy conversations outside and ESPECIALLY NO PETS. Traveling with an 8-year-old Italian Mastiff and an 8-week old English Bulldog puppy, I was reprimanded for having them outside (mastiff on a leash and the puppy in her crate), while I was loading the car. Despite what the rules & regulations stated, neither was allowed to be outside if I was inside working (with the doors and windows open). The dog park is a 10 x 10 bed of rocks, while other parts of the park have marked restrictions (due to 'landscaping'). The staff was downright rude, borderline disrespectful and I would have canceled my pricey week-long stay after the first night, but their restrictive 'policies' would have provided no refund and added a fee for cancellation. DONT DO IT... the sheer and utter lack of caring and indifference from this park, not only shows through with their grounds but also with the fact that this bad review (as well as many others) will get no response from any 'concerned party'.

THEN, a week later the website shows no availability at all and she says it's because the owner " must have" updated the website. She says when there's availability She'll let me know. I go in the website yesterday and it now shows AGAIN two available sites so I email Gail and her reply was there's still no availability. I am in the process of trying to contact someone hire up to possibly help me. I understand if there's no availability, but it seems as though someone is dropping the ball somewhere.

Sandy Shores was originally built as a 55 space trailer park across the street from what at the time was the existing 100 space Harbor View Trailer Coach Villa. In 1962, Sandy Shores Trailer Park was purchased by Oceanside native Harold Carpenter, who owned and operated the nearby Carpenters Towing and Auto Salvage business. After several years of construction, the Oceanside Harbor opened in 1963, adding another attraction along with a spectacular view for travelers staying in the park. By the late 1960s the Harbor View Trailer Coach Villa across the street closed down and the number of spaces in Sandy Shores was reduced to make way for bigger and more luxurious travel trailers. Today, Sandy Shores is still locally owned and operated by like minded people. It now consists of 40+ spaces, including some short term RV spaces (6 months or less), but the majority of the spaces are used as a coastal vacation spot for people who reside in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. Many are second or third generation families who have been coming to Oceanside for years to enjoy the quaint atmosphere of the park and the nearby beaches, harbor and other attractions...

The cabins are very clean with a lot of amenities you normally would not find in a cabin. It really felt more like a a hotel but smaller spaces. Internet is not the greatest, but that's not the kind of stuff I'm looking for when I'm with family in this kind of a setting. If you're about your devices then make sure you bring your own hotspot. The grounds were also kept really nice and they have plenty of things to do including a bar which was very lively around the new year. The only cons are that you have a lot of kids on e-bikes. Be careful out there.

These ants are known for having one of the most painful stings in North America, so we didn't feel it was safe or reasonable to set up our tent there. When we expressed our concerns, we were initially told, "It's nature," which felt dismissive. We understand that insects are part of camping, but an active colony of stinging ants directly in the campsite is different from seeing a few bugs. We also noticed cigarette butts scattered around the campsite, which made it seem like the site hadn't been cleaned or maintained very well before our arrival. To the campground's credit, they explained they were completely booked and couldn't move us to another site, and they did provide us with a full refund, which we appreciated. We just wish the campsite had been inspected and cleaned before guests arrived, and that our concerns had been taken more seriously from the start. We had no other choice but to go home. Waste of money (buying camping gear, food and gas to drive there) and time!

We paid $490 upfront for one night of glamping, knowing it was steep but worth it for the convenience. With busy schedules across five families, one night was all we could coordinate. When we arrived at the Ranger station, I was told we weren't on the list for Saturday night. Instead, my name was marked as a no-show for the previous night. I showed my reservation confirmation, but the Ranger explained the tents were run by a third party and gave me the owner's number. My calls went to voicemail. Hipcamp's customer service didn't respond. Eventually, Andy--the owner--called back. Turns out, Andy had double-booked our tents and claimed the other guests were already settled in--even though we arrived before check-in. He had no backup accommodations to offer. I was stunned. We had packed cars with food, clothes, firewood, and supplies. This trip had been planned for six months. I had to call two other moms mid-drive and tell them to turn around. We scrambled to find two hotel rooms so the girls could still have a mini reunion, but it was more expensive and nowhere near the experience we'd envisioned. To top it off, Andy asked me, "Haven't you ever made a mistake?" That's not how you handle a business error that disrupts five families' plans. This wasn't a simple mistake--it was a complete failure in communication, accountability, and customer service. Think twice before booking with The Holidays.
