Pasta Havana - vegan and delicous!

Good place. We have been here a few times, especially before show the Tobin center. We had a salad that was outstanding and some chicken that was just OK. All in all it was a good place. A little bit pricey for the Porsche sizes that she had but we would still recommend it. Try the Tostones!

We were very excited to go to Ocho after having seen the chef compete on Chopped. The food was really delicious. Every bite was tasty and well worth the trip. But there are a few caveats. The glossy pictures on the website and elsewhere are not entirely representative of the place. It is a bit dowdier than photos but certainly fine. There was bird or two that had gotten caught inside. It was a Thursday night at 7 and there were 4 out 5 tables in the whole place. Service is lacking unfortunately. We were greeted and seated quickly but it took a while to have our order taken. Then the food took far too long to come out given there were only a few tables in the whole place. I noticed the other tables had the same issue. I saw our server on his phone at the bar a few times. The food came out *just* warm enough for me not to send it back. It took so long to come out, I did know how long it would take to come out again. Overall the food was incredibly good so worth the trip but I would be concerned about service and time.

I was wondering why this establishment had only three stars. It has a nice ambience, the drinks are good, and some of the food is acceptable. But a business that turns away customers 45 minutes before closing is not a welcoming or efficient restaurant - my companion who owns restaurants was shocked at the authority given a bartender to turn away customers 45 minutes before closing. In the past I've had the pancakes and carnitas with were good but any egg dish comes extremely overcooked, mine and the couple next to me had the same problem. My self and my companion live in the area and this is the second time a special event has restricted access to the restaurant. The first time we were granted partial access, but this particular bartender was not in charge. This time she was adamant and rude! - no access 45 minutes from closing. Nice we live nearby, we would've been regular customers-WE WILL NOT BE RETURNING!

The ambiance was nice overlooking the River but the view is best because of the trees and foliage surrounding it. The service was a little slow but the food arrived hot. I did not like the sopas. They tasted like they were cooked in old oil and they were hard to eat. I ordered spinach salad with grilled chicken. The chicken was a little dry but the salad was fine.

On business and looking for some nice Cuban food and boy did we enjoy it! Nice patio sitting, very quiet and cozy. Great service and the food was out of this world! Flavors were on point, and every single dish was a mouth watering experience! On the Riverwalk (kinda), if you enjoy good food, you will absolutely LOVE this place!

Sour margarita but awesome old fashioned drink!

We had a great time celebrating a wedding reception in Ocho Restaurant! The setting was beautiful and the weather was perfect. The food was so good and the open bar was good as well. The margarita was too sour but the old fashioned was great. The waiters and bartenders were professional-- The dance floor was quite small but we all had an amazing time!!! The entrance of the hotel was perfect for the fireworks send off!!!

We came for brunch after staying a night at hotel Havana! We love how beautiful the indoor conservatory area is - so cute and service was great! We tried the pan de plátano (banana bread) - delicious!!! We loved it so much both loaves were finished no problem! I got the Cuban hash and my husband got the chilaquiles with eggs added and we shared both entrees! We loved the mix of both and would get everything again!

We were really excited to try this place, but ended up feeling underwhelmed by the service and the prices. On a Friday evening, we were one of only a few tables in the restaurant. Our server wasn't mean, but it just felt like we were interrupting his time to talk to the other staff with prices like these, you kind of expect to have a little bit warmer service. It always felt like we were trying to track him down. . And the rest of the staff seemed just as ambivalent. If it were just for the ambience, I would've given four stars. It's not really a popular or busy part of the Riverwalk that it is on, but it's nice to see the river outside. . All the glass is dazzling and I thought the vibes were good. My husband thought the place could look cleaner, but I thought that was an effect they were going for to not be too perfect. If I were giving reviews based on just food, I would also give this place four stars. Everyone liked their meals. I got the ribeye and I thought it was a bit too salty. The portions were not that big either. Maybe 3 1/2 stars if that were an option based on the price. And the menu is not that big, so it feels like it should be perfectly executed. Overall, we thought the food was pretty good, but none of us want to come back. This is a neat concept that we were really excited about and hopefully they can get it together to be a better place to eat

The patacones guapos and tacos del lechon were very savory and delicious . Unfortunately, the ribeye was supposed to be medium but it was dry and crunchy. The yuca fries were like bricks. Being that I'm Latina, I can honestly say these were the worse yuca fries I ever attempted to taste.

Came here for date night! The Aguacate ensalada was tasty and refreshing. Had a very light dressing on it. There was even a little bit of pomegranate in it, and everything was so fresh.

We went on a day that was nice enough to sit outside on their small patio area. It was beautiful ! The food was as expected from a fine restaurant like this. I had the chilaquiles and it was delicious. Now I did upgrade and got carnitas on top so that was a hefty additional cost. Nevertheless it was worth the price. Overall delicious and I highly encourage you to try OCHO at the Havana Hotel. They do have indoor seating if the weather prevents you from sitting outside. So I did want to say, if you are craving Tex-mex food, you are going to be disappointed because there are no tacos, Barbacoa, huevos rancheros, sweet tea on the menu. This is a Spanish restaurant so just be aware if that's what you are looking for.

Very cute restaurant! Nice design and great for photo ops. The menu is very unique, even for San Antonio- there's a fusion kinda of vibe to it, Cuban/Pan Latin. The drinks were delicious, refreshing, and stiff! We came for dinner and our waiter was very attentive.

Peach was our server-amazing doesn't even cover how terrific she was!! We tried so many things and almost all of their food is GLUTEN FREE!! They don't have traditional iced tea, tried a new one, olive tea-glad I tried, won't have again. Lamb was beyond delicious, so tender and full of flavor. Stuffed pork chop was mouthwatering!! The non-gluten free had the Mexican brownies as well. Overall portions were GREAT, flavor made us want to stay another day, and our server was the best!!

    No but it helps

Is there a long table or private room for a group of 10-15 for a birthday dinner?

Yes. There is a private room outside the courtyard area. I saw a bridal shower there during lunch.

Is their free parking on site or nearby?

You can park in the hotel parking lot but it's a small parking lot! Also there are other places to park not that far from the place.

So I went to Bar 1919 in Southtown, a tucked-away speakeasy-style bar. I'd heard it could be difficult to find, and that mystery is part of the charm. Once I stepped inside, I was struck by how polished and inviting it felt: low amber lighting, dark wood, intimate seating, and a quiet hum of conversation that made the room feel removed from the rest of the city. The atmosphere was elegant without feeling stiff. The dim light glowed against the bar, and the cozy layout made it easy to settle in. There was something satisfying about searching for the entrance and then emerging into such a carefully designed space. [NAME] took care of me, and the service was warm and attentive. I was there by myself, but I never felt awkward sitting alone. The bartender checked in without hovering and made the experience feel relaxed from beginning to end. He also made me a from-scratch cocktail. [COCKTAIL NAME/INGREDIENTS] The drink was beautifully balanced, with [YOUR WORDS ABOUT THE TASTE/QUALITY OF THE DRINK]. The aroma rose from the glass before the first sip, and the flavors unfolded gradually rather than overwhelming one another. It tasted fresh, deliberate, and carefully prepared. I also had [FOOD], and [YOUR WORDS ABOUT THE FOOD]. The dish arrived [DESCRIBE PRESENTATION OR TEMPERATURE], with [DESCRIBE TEXTURE, AROMA, OR FLAVOR]. Each bite added another layer to the experience, and it paired especially well with the cocktail. The hidden entrance gives it a sense of discovery, while the intimate setting makes it easy to linger. Excellent idea.

There is an outdoor seating area as well with views of downtown. We sat outside, so to order food you have to go to the inside bar. I ordered a mojito, veggie tacos, and the shrimp and artichoke dip. Found seating outside and vibed to the live DJ playing latin music. Food took awhile to come out but we weren't in a rush. The tacos weren't anything to write home about and could've used some spice. The chips served with the dip were crispy and light and yummy. The dip had a decent amount of shrimp and I enjoyed it. The ambiance is giving upscale lounge but the fact that there is no table service outside, it feels like a basic bar. Im not sure if there is table service inside. The DJ really set the vibe for the place. Im not sure if I wouldve enjoyed myself had the DJ not been there.

It's over $30 if you want the meat and things like cereal , bagels , and juice. Half the price if you only want the basic cereal yogurt and bagels. I would not recommend the brunch to anyone unless they are strictly going for the view. The view and vibe are stunning. The daytime vibe is much different than the nighttime so I highlyyyy recommend going for dinner and drinks. Make a reservation because it gets crowded. The coffee bar that's there early in the morning , which is probably more for the hotel guests because it's not open for long, was kind of a let down! I had the kindest barista that was easy to talk to. However half of their menu wasn't available because there was no matcha and apparently there hadn't been in weeks which is so unfortunate. They have tons of potential and have the right staff, so hopefully they fix that soon!

Drinks were AMAZING! Bartender Rob made the best Negroni I've ever had. I asked him to use whatever gin he thought best--result was an artistic smooooooth full-bodied drink. Told him when I was done I'd lick the glass if it wasn't considered so uncouth for a 'mature' lady like myself to do so Hubby's Buffalo Trace bourbon old fashioned was also outstanding. Rob was the bartender last night who did such a great job, and his work was even better tonight. We highly recommend The EsquireTavern for excellent cocktails. We love the long wood bar and high copper ceiling upstairs, but love the intimate speakeasy atmosphere downstairs even more. We'll definitely be back every time we're in San Antonio! First review, Friday night: Drinks were great (Manhattan and Bourbon Old Fashioned). REAL drinks, no complaints at all about those. And the bartenders were very friendly and helpful. Those aspects of the Esquire get 5+ stars from us. But the appetizers were not good, close to inedible. It was about 8:30pm or so, so maybe they were getting ready to close out the kitchen but the chalupitas with chicken tasted like rubber, and no flavor at all. The seafood platter had something in it that was breading with shell inside, but no meat of any kind. We couldn't figure out what it was supposed to be. The shrimp was good and the fish was good but those other things... We'll always love the drinks, the long wooden bar, and the ambiance at the Esquire Tavern, but we'll eat somewhere else and come here for before or after dinner drinks.
