Recently visited Grand Junction for the Blue Angels Airshow!! Whoop whoop! Anywho, had a recommendation to visit this coffee shop while we were in town. Did not disappoint. In fact, surprised us in many different ways. The line was out the door, probably due to the airshow and the eclipse being all the same weekend, but the friendly staff kept everyone in high spirits as we waited in line. We were also able to entertain ourselves with all of the little gifts to look at and joke about that are throughout the store. We caved and bought at least $30 worth of gifts for different people, each one unique that we haven't seen before. The coffee was phenomenal and the breakfast burrito is 100% something to write home about. Of note, standing out in comparison to other local coffee shops, they make it a point to be environmentally friendly where they can. **Bring your own cup, save 50¢

This place is unique, quirky, and wonderful! In addition to consumables they also sell a variety of souvenirs and fun coffee cups, socks, oven mitts, dishtowels, etc. Their octopus logo is cute! I loved the Sweet Hamilton latte (with vanilla syrup, cinnamon and nutmeg) and the panini-style breakfast sandwich was a satisfying start to my day. The freshly baked scone was a winner for sure! The young guy behind the counter was lively and full of comical quips. He certainly brightened up my morning, along with the coffee.

Needed breakfast and a coffee on my way out of town. This place was around the corner from my hotel so I decided to give it a try as I was a little tired of Starbucks. When local, I'll try and eat local or drink local copies. My scone was excellent, very moist. It was not dried out or crumbly like most scones are. I can't remember what coffee I got, but it did not really have any flavor to it that I like it and it was almost too bitter to drink. I had to add five packets of sugar to bring any taste out. I did end up drinking the entire thing because I didn't wanna waste it, and I had a long day of work and travel ahead of me. The inside of the café is very eclectic. They do have mugs and stickers, games, toys T-shirts, all different kinds of things that you can buy as souvenirs. Some aren't even souvenirs. They're just things to purchase. Kind of like they threw a coffee shop inside of a Five and dime The weather was great and asked if I had any plans for the day where I was headed where I was from. Made friendly conversation.

I don't even know where to start I LOVE this little place. I got stationed in Grand Junction about 5 months ago now so I spend about 14 days a month here. On the whole I've found Grand Junction to be a little bit of a good wasteland, and haven't found too many treasures out here but Octopus is definitely one of them. From the moment you walk in you get a sense the place is about a different kind of vibe, somewhere between a modern contemporary and hippy kitsch vibe. Lots of tongue in cheek merchandise around the store, you'll be greeted with a very loud hello how are ya etc. the staff is very enthusiastic and everyone I've met has been wonderful. So disclaimer I've own ky tried about four food things on the menu but all of them have been good if you're in the mood for a quick bite, their burritos and grilled pressed sandwiches will hit the spot. It's not a dedicated breakfast place by any means but their food is healthy and tasty. What you're REALLY here for is their sweets and pastries, and they are some of the best I've ever had. Their sweet rolls, doesn't matter if they are the almond, the apple, or the OG sweet roll all are incredible. Their less sweet stuff like their lemon poppyseed scones are very good and have great subtle flavor too. You can't really go wrong. They even have a burrito loyalty program! Every five bucks you spend gets you to 1/10th of a burrito or a sweet roll or whatever they don't seem picky about it. The only cons I can think of are the layout is a little cramped and if they are busy which they often are you may have to kinda fight your way through the store to order. They also aren't the speediest coffee shop. Another thing is they are closed Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday so on those sad days I have to go to the Herman Melville place if you know what I'm saying!

I love to support local when I can. We opted for a quick breakfast at Octopus Coffee while visiting Grand Junction because it was close to our hotel and again support local. The inside is something to behold - so much to look at. They have a tone of cute items like kitchen towels, mugs, magnets and more with cheeky sayings on them. The chai was just e ought sweet as it was spicy.y husband got an iced coffee and they make there ice cubes with coffee so your coffee doesn't get watered down! We also got a breakfast burrito which lacked flavor and a cinnamon roll which was soft, chewy and iced to perfection. I highly recommend stopping by for a treat whether it is a drink, food, or trinket.

Excellent coffee, super cute and fun cafe! They have an extensive coffee menu as well as, breakfast sandwiches, burritos, wraps, smoothies and pastries. I ordered the Port Hudson (Neapolitan) latte and it was as pretty as it was delicious! The woman that worked there said they make their own whip cream. I tried the peach scone and a breakfast sandwich. The scone was very good, soft and slightly sweet. The sandwich was ok, eggs were over cooked-light brown and not much bacon. All of the employees were super friendly, they gave me a punch card for a burrito. The cafe is small, it only has a few tables. They have various unique decorations and items for sale. Beware- If your kids can read, a lot of the items have swear words on them! I will definitely return again for the coffee and pastries.

This place is a tiny bit off the beaten path, but close to the Grand Junction Airport. It's in a small strip mall. Very unassuming spot, but my goodness, was it packed when we walked in! I got a hot almond milk latte and it was delicious! They also offer little bites/pastries if you're in the mood for a bite. Definitely worth stopping by if you're on your way to the airport. It was conveniently across the street from our hotel.

Came here on a road trip. I am not too sure if it was because of Covid but I remember ordering and waiting for my food outdoors. We ate at a nearby closed Italian spot because there were tables outside. The ambiance was definitely a to go vibe. The service was relatively quick. I ordered the Green Rocket Breakfast Burrito and the Blackberry Mocha. Everything was delicious and exactly how I would make it at home. The Blackberry Mocha wasn't too sweet. The Green Rocket had everything I wanted in it, which is why I ordered it. It was the perfect size. As a person coming through Grand Junction and on the go this is definitely a place to stop for a good home-cooked quality meal. I also snagged a punchcard and sticker for the next time I am in town.

Friendly staff, great service and awesome coffee. The best local coffee spot in Grand Junction! What a lucky find!

Phenomenal coffee shop! From the moment you walk in, you are greeted by friendly staff and a fun quirky collection of goods to buy (cups, oven mitts, kitchen towels, cards, etc). When we went to order we shared our allergy concerns for food and the staff were quick to help and make sure our food was made correctly. The food itself - delicious! Everything was fresh and full of flavor from their sandwiches to their burritos. Their coffee and smoothies were smooth and full of flavor! When we finished our coffees, we wanted to go back for more! I can't wait to stop here again!

Enough about logistics and my biscuit history, lets talk Alarado. The biscuits. Whatever you get, you have to try it with the biscuit. Personally went with the sausage, egg & cheese breakfast sandwich with pepper jack and the BISCUIT ofc. There's something surreal about eating a delicious biscuit breakfast sandwich at 7:00 am in the morning when its raining outside. I'm surprised I even got a photo of it before demolishing it. Now underrated co-start is the breakfast burrito. Because my back is big, I also got a chorizo breakfast burrito with green chili. Goodness gracious, that one also was a banger seriously. Biscuit sandwich or burritos are definitely the move I'd say here. Go get your biscuit on.

We decided to drop in without a reservation. The host was honestly pretty weird about it. He told us he had to go ask his waiters if they would even agree to take us. Truth be told, that is a bizarre way to welcome paying guests. They ultimately found a spot for us. Then they abandoned us for a solid fifteen minutes before anyone even approached the table. We finally ordered our drinks and watched another twenty minutes tick away. I went with the CMU Centennial Manhattan. It is built with a Colorado bourbon, sweet vermouth, local hot honey, bitters, and a bordeaux cherry. A proper Manhattan needs a careful balance between the whiskey and the sweet vermouth to round out the bite. Honestly, they were just way too heavy-handed with that hot honey. It was so aggressively spicy that it just wasn't enjoyable. My wife ordered the Lavender Lemon Drop. Hers was actually perfectly balanced with a really nice citrus kick. We put in an order for the Deviled Kitchen Eggs. Another twenty minutes passed before they hit the table. They make them with a tempura fried egg white and an herb yolk. I appreciate the attempt at a crispy texture. They were decent but ultimately nothing special. My wife ordered the Bison Tip Pappardelle. I decided on the Roasted Dirty Hippie Half Chicken. They use a local Palisade beer marinade for the chicken. I ordered it with duck fat potato dippers and truffle yucca on the side. Another thirty minutes crawled by before the main courses arrived. Both dishes were just huge letdowns. The pappardelle noodles were completely stuck together in a starchy clump. The wild mushroom cream sauce was overly sweet and cloying instead of savory. The bison meat was tough and tasted exactly like plain boiled beef. There was absolutely nothing enjoyable about that pasta dish. My chicken wasn't any better. It had a terribly rubbery texture. It felt like it was roasted three days ago and lazily reheated. The skin was soggy and gross instead of crisp and properly rendered. The duck fat dippers were completely missing that deep, savory richness you expect when cooking with animal fats. The truffle yucca was actually pretty tasty. A good side dish just can't make up for a terrible main course, though. We didn't bother asking for a second round of drinks. The food was so poor that we skipped dessert and just asked for the check. The panoramic view of the Colorado National Monument from the rooftop is fantastic. A beautiful sunset just isn't enough to excuse a bad dinner, though. We expected a much higher-end culinary experience. What we got felt like a bunch of college students running a very disorganized experiment. I would definitely skip this spot.
