I've been here a couple times, and it never gets old. The atmosphere is laid back, look around and you'll see plenty of odd pieces of artwork, couple jokes written on the wall, plenty of conversation starters if you're on a date. Next door is a Late Night Slice stand which is always playing some funny movie on the wall in the parking lot. Drinks, they have a nice selection to choose from. Your usual craft beers and liquors to keep your night flowing. If you're hungry, grab a couple slices from the Late Night Stand and bring it in. I suggest the spicy pepperoni and then make it rain slut sauce all over that delicious slice, you won't regret it. read more

My husband and I were in Columbus so he could attend a conference. On Monday about 5p we strolled down the street on one side and came back on the other checking out all of our options. (And there are many!) We both zoned in on the great patio outside Oddfellows and decided to stop in and have a drink. Bubbles Rosé Ale from Rhinegeist Brewery was on tap so I was a happy camper! Three beers, a slice of pizza and garlic bread sticks from Mikey's Late Night Slice rounded out our wonderful evening at Oddfellows. We look forward to coming back. read more

He could have just said, "I don't know, sorry" and I would have been fine with it but instead he just wanted to be rude. Not my first bad experience there. We decided to do something different for Mother's Day and had heard Oddfellows brunch was worth checking out. Brunch is cooked by Oddtaco and the chef has cocked for a number of local start up restaurants before starting his own concept. Our table had the deep dish biscuits and gravy, chicken and churros and the brunch wrap. The deep dish biscuits and gravy were worth the trip by themselves. It was a homemade pot pie filled with gravy and a biscuit top. I would put it in the top biscuits and gravy I have ever tasted. The chicken and churros was a Mexican inspired twist on chicken and waffles and was also exceptional. The Churros gave and extra crunch to the dish and did not get soggy as waffles usually do. Over all I would say this is one of the most unique breakfast concepts in Columbus. I would definitely give it a try. read more

I like the patio at Oddfellows, but to be honest, that's the main reason I ever go there because I've never really gotten good service. We went in for the brunch this weekend. They've recently raised the price now from $8 to $10 and I'm not positive it's worth that, but I was willing to give it a shot. We waited in a long line at the bar just to get our plates and bowls (they have you start your tab at the bar, then they give you the paper plates). You can imagine our surprise when we got to the food station and multiple items were completely gone (there are only maybe 8 items total on the buffet). Shortly after, they completely ran out of food. We waited for more food to come out. And waited. And waited. And waited. My friend, who had arrived late, went up to the bar to buy her plate and also waited in a very long line. No one told her that there was no food. It took a good 45 minutes or more for them to get more food out on the buffet, with no updates to anyone about when people might be able to eat. When more food came out, it was not what was marked on the serving dishes. Also, because so many people had bought plates in the meantime, by the time I got up there, a bunch of the items were already gone again! I'd say the food was decent, nothing that great - the french toast was just a soppy goop pile with cookies in it. The bacon, when I got to eat it, was super tasty. Eat the bacon. Don't waste stomach real estate on the the kale salad (why would you do that to me? I strictly want food that will absorb the alcohol in my stomach from last night) or the popovers. Also, this sounds pedantic, but a quiche has a crust and what they served was not quiche. Maybe it's a frittata? I don't know, I'm not an egg wizard. Also, they don't have knives, so I had to saw at my food with a fork and a spoon. The bartender apologized for the delay and the food issue when we went to pay and gave us some tokens for free drinks. I was a little suspicious because when I came in around noon, I also saw her give tokens to another customer when they were talking about how they had raised their prices recently. So either this food shortage is an ongoing thing for them, in which case, you gotta sort that out, or they were already giving away free drinks. I probably wouldn't do the brunch again. LNS at 2am is a different story though. read more

I used to live in downtown Columbus and came here often...I was in town last week and stopped in to have drinks. Cider was good, they have slushies, and some interesting mixed drinks. I really like the weird decor. Right outside the door is late night slice. I had brunch here a handful of times also, and for the price it was good. The most perfect brick-walled and articulately decorated bar with deliciously curated cocktails. The Painkiller is my favorite but don't say I told you so... Oddfellows is an ideal hangout for a casual but creative time, any night of the week. Bartenders who are genuinely interested in you (and your enjoyment of that cocktail). Your feet won't actually stick to the floor, but Oddfellows wants you to think that they will. Don't forget to enjoy being a voyeur while using the restroom through a one-way mirror. read more

I came here as part of the Columbus Food Adventure Breakfast Tour. I really like the decor of this place and it's sure to a happening spot this summer! The ultimate bonus is that they serve food here, but not just any food - it's Katalina's! The location is great if you're cruising High Street and want a late night munch and drink. One item that immediately caught my eye is the slushy machine! The flavors are very unique! One had ginger and vodka and the other one was bourbon based with a little something tart added. Fun little bar on high street. Serves pizza by the slice in an old boxcar on the patio - pretty cool little touch. Happy hour is 1/2 price drafts from 5-7. My fiancé and I stopped here for a drink and enjoyed sitting on the patio. Lots of little tables and standing areas, but by 6:30 on Friday was already quite packed. Last night stopped in oddfellows around 12:30 for a drink or two while we waited for our pizza to be made with a few friends. The bartender came up to me and the first thing he asked is if I was okay (I was a little drunk but not belligerent or anything like that) it came off really rude and he asked my friends the same thing. The whole time we were there both bartenders were flirting with two girls at the end of the bar. Everyone else that was there left because they were giving off the vibe that they didn't care about any other customer except those girls. I won't be back!! read more

I think the running joke is that calling your brand new establishment a "dive bar" is like giving yourself a nickname. And I also think that the fine folks that run Oddfellows get that, and just don't care. It is what it is: designed as a dive bar, but it truly is a nice place with excellent, and I mean EXCELLENT, service. Our man, I think his name was Birch, was super attentive to our group. He cleaned up our pizza mess, he refreshed our coaster napkins, and he was always on top of things without being intrusive. The beer selection is good, the decor is great, the crowd is good people. What more can you ask for? Well....don't shut off the TouchTunes jukebox after we bought a bunch of credits. That's the only thing I could have asked for. read more

Good variety in liquor drinks that don't "break the bank". I like how they change up their menu and keep things fresh with a lot of interesting ingredients and local options. They also have frozen slushy drinks that are kind of fun... I'm not really into them but still think it's cool. It's super busy here on the weekends. I prefer going on a weekday night or afternoon just to beat the crowd. Does that make me old? They also have a win for partnering with Late Night Slice so you can get some pizza, sit on their patio, walk to another bad afterwards because it's a great location, or just stay there! Oh... Brunch with a side of dog. So the brunch buffet is decent. It's the best one can get in the Short North for such an inexpensive amount ($8, although it use to be $6).The drinks are absolutely AMAZING. If you're a dog lover, this place is for you. But if you're prone to allergies and/or have pure disdain for animals, don't come here. There is a free-roaming dog (I'm sure it belongs to an employee), that will walk right up to your table and eat off your plate. #annoying #disgusting maybe even illegal? I would think it would be against health code to have a dog in the kitchen and out amongst paying customers. There are two kinds of inconsiderate people in this world I can't handle; pet parents and smokers. I don't want your animals ripping my Betsey Johnson stockings and I don't want to walk out of my building to a face full of smoke. Chain that sucker up or leave it at home! This is one of those places that is far from the maddening crowd despite being right beside Bodega (full of the maddening crowd). The minute you walk in, you're enveloped in a nice, casual, hipster-ey vibe. Plus, a great selection of beers and the proximity to Mikey's Late Night Slice doesn't hurt. Service is always good and there is never a super duper long wait to grab a drink. I was here last week, and spent $20.75 on a couple of bourbon and gingers and a gin and tonic = a pretty good deal. And, it's nice to actually be able to hear your friends while they talk and have a decent conversation. A great neighborhood bar! read more

This place has been real hit or miss for me and my girlfriend. We love the place to death, spent many a night drinking here, but sometimes they manage to lay a big egg. They used to make a drink called the Odd Fashioned, which is basically an Old Fashioned. They never seem to make the drink with any sort of consistency. I've had them super sweet and at other times super bitter. I find when the place gets super crowded they do a sloppy job on it. Somewhat understandable as it's a drink that requires time and effort to perfect, both of which can be hard to come by when people are swarming the bar. Nonetheless I feel that they should try to maintain the integrity of the drink. We've gotten familiar with the staff, most of whom we are fond of. There are a few bad apples but we tend to avoid them. If you ever find yourself at Oddfellows, be sure to pay respects to Ming Chao. -Lewis read more

This would have to be my favorite bar in Columbus. The decor is very unique and borderline macabre, and slight additions/subtraction are made on a monthly(?) basis to keep you scanning the walls for new decorations. The staff does a great job serving, and they recognize good customers and treat them as such. They also know how to make 98% of the drinks you will order. If you order something they don't know, they will accommodate as long as you communicate clearly. The location is also nice because it is close to campus but also comfortably within the short north. Open all year is a truck that serves pizza and other bar food (outside patio). The patio is actually significantly larger than the inside bar. On Monday nights they have vegan bar food. I am not close vegan, but I tried a couple of the menu items and they were pretty good. The only complaint is I wish the inside of the bar was bigger. It is very narrow. 9 months out of the year , the aforementioned patio makes up for it. Pricing is about average for the area, no complaints there. read more

Worst service I've ever had. Came in with my friends to enjoy our Saturday. My friend ordered a drink and received a straw...I ordered a drink and did not. I asked my bartender for a straw since my friend had received one. He replied that that did not f***ing sell straws. I was blown away by his rudeness and thought he was kidding. Once I realized he was not kidding I was beyond upset, I have never been treated so poorly. He was the worst bartender I've ever dealt with in my entire life. The bartender made eye contact with us, looked annoyed and went back to what she was doing. We sat... and sat... and sat and no one greeted us. As a former bartender and server of several years, I know how easy it is to take a few seconds to greet people and say "I'll be right with you." In my book, ignoring people, particularly after making eye contact and especially for longer than five minutes when a place is dead is unacceptable. After a substantial wait, we ended up leaving, walking a few doors down and spending our money where it was wanted.
