Algon performed a termite inspection for a house we were buying. They said no termite evidence…read more Fast forward a year later, we noticed termite evidence in a not easily visible area of the house. Upon further inspection in the attic, we saw extensive evidence of termites. We got a couple of inspections from other companies and they said the termites have been there for years. Algon only inspected 1/3 of the attic as they said it was not accessible. That is not true. After going in the attic myself, you can reach the other areas, its just not super simple. My opinion is that the inspector was too lazy and didnt want to have to crawl to get into the other part of the attic. As part of the sell of the house, we could have required the seller to tent. But now we are forced to pay and go through the process of tenting because of Algons poor inspection.

What really made Brian unprofessional was his sharing of the summary and conclusions with the listing agent! Excuse me, I am the one paying, not the listing agent. Never in my 7 years of real estate experience have I seen someone I hire give information out for free...to a separate party no less! The inspection company has no legal grounds to share anything from the report with the seller, since the buyer paid for it. Now we know your company improperly trains all its inspectors, since you do not understand California law around inspection reports. Second, your formal response to my feedback reflects the overall attitude from the inspector as well: dismissive, arrogant, reckless. It is becoming more apparent that simple SEO and branding are your business model, not listening to the voice of the customer--everyday Americans trying to get by. He is the best at not doing thorough inspections and missing major items in "PLAIN SIGHT." Informed Francisco (broker) of issues and was told to call Marcos to have this figured out. He missed several MAJOR items on the home inspection (shows he did a half assed job, at best) -Claimed there is no exhaust tor dryer (there is, all he had to do was run the dryer and it would have been obvious) -Claimed that the upstairs loft areas were 100% (he never mentioned major holes in ventilation ducts in the lofts, or debris, or major repairs to walls in thr loft areas (again, had he checked them, would have been VERY obvious) -didn't notice a bit of thr foundation exterior to a sliding glass door was deteriorating (again, very obvious) Just a couple major items he never mentioned- straight up didn't look. and then DEMANDS cash on sight for inspection.
