Went to OEB Breakfast Co. in Yaletown for brunch on my last Saturday in Vancouver and it was clearly a popular spot, it was packed. I chose to sit outside on the patio instead of inside at the bar to take in that Canadian Vitamin D! It was sunny and hot, but the patio had a great view and was perfect for people-watching. My server, Dursh (or something close to that), was really cool. He asked my name, made me feel welcomed, and gave solid recommendations. He even picked my drink for me, which I ended up enjoying. He suggested a Benedict dish, but I'm not a fan of runny eggs. I had already decided on the El Camino poutine and plot twist....it also came with two runny poached eggs. Even so, it was still delicious, mainly because the yolk texture wasn't an issue with the crema on the dish. That poutine was an easy 9/10. It came loaded with cheese curds, pork carnitas that weren't dry at all, bacon, pinto beans, roasted pineapple for a little sweetness, salsa, jalapeños, pickled onions, salsa verde, cilantro crema, and spinach. The herb potatoes were seasoned so well too. All in all, a great last meal in Vancouver from the food to the service (even beyond Dursh, everyone was helpful) to the patio vibe. What an amazing neighborhood restaurant! It's cute and big, with seating outside. All the servers are attentive and kind. They look like they love their jobs. I got the non-meat " poutine ", my wife got the berries and cream cloud stack, and the kids got the side toast and jam with a side of fruit. The let was a choice os sour dough, rye or brioche The food was delicious. It came out of the kitchen hot and fresh. The pancakes were fluffy and tasty. BEST BREAKFAST POUTINE!! As this was my first time visiting Canada as well as the first restaurant I visited during my stay, I had a lot of options from the menu. I also wish I knew the name of my waiter but he was extremely knowledgeable when I asked him about what was popular. He broke down the menu of all the popular items from each section and gave me a fantastic recommendation. I decided on the el camino breakfast poutine and subbed out the pork carnitas for hardwood smoked bacon and it was INCREDIBLE! The amount of flavor and variety of flavors was absolutely delicious. I find that even though I am back home now, I still think about having that breakfast poutine. It was a nice mix of sweet, spicy, and savory between the roasted pineapple, charred tomato salsa, pickled jalapeños, and salsa verde. The bacon and potatoes were nice and crispy too! Not only will you find the best food here, but the views are unmatched too. If you get there early, you can enjoy your breakfast by the window or on the patio overlooking the marina. It was pretty quiet and peaceful and I would love to experience that again. Service here was also amazing! After a 16 hour travel day, I was ready for a good meal. Luckily, we got here with 45 minutes before closing. Our waiter was so good. He was quirky, gave us great recommendations, and stopped by at the perfect times. I ordered the Shakshuka and the mimosa flight. The Shakshuka was just what I needed! It had so much flavor! WHEN: Sat @9am Conference week has come to an end, but before I head to the Airport via metro line, I wanted to see a friend that was near the station. It was just a 15 minute walk from my hotel, so after my breakfast, it was an easy 2 block walk! Conveniently they take reservations and I managed to get a 9:15am, where I chose to have seatings be outdoors since it was such a lovely morning out! It was such an extensive menu but I decided on ordering: BREAKFAST SAMMY - $19 CAD Artisan ciabatta, two free-run eggs over hard, white truffle aioli, bacon, guacamole, arugula, pommes gaufrettes fried in beef tallow. I usually substitute my fries/potatoes for fruit, but because their potatoes is fried in beef tallow, I just couldn't resist. These potato wedges were well fried but sadly I didn't taste much of the beef tallow. I did ask for a side of truffle aioli to dip them in and they were perfect. The sandwich itself was massive and I was full eating a third of it--the rest I ate at the airport! I really really really enjoyed my sandwich. I think it's rare that it comes with all the things I love without needed to pay an extra fee for the bacon and avocados. I just realized it never came with cheese and I really enjoyed it! Wow, that says I a lot. Had I known I would have paid more for cheese but turns out I did not need any! I vacillate between healthy and not so healthy dishes- avocado toast with poached egg (the tomato jam levels up this dish) and Canadian lobster and crab crêpe. Come hungry as the portions are big! Came here bright and early around 7am and the place was already getting busy! I tried their waffle with bacon inside of it and my friends got the short rib breakfast poutine. The food was delicious and the ambiance was good, though it can get very busy and noisy. Food is still good. We ordered threesome, mushroom crepes and don't even go there and they are all very satisfying. One thing they can improve is to make sure the dishes have a protein element as the mushroom crepes and the banana/berries crepe with whipped cream both don't have any protein and we got sugar high very quickly. Thanks to the virtual waitlist we only needed to wait for 30 mins in person. The place is busy as usual. The service is good. The food is good as usual with decent portion. Chai tea is surprisingly lovely. Hot chocolate is delightful on a chilled day. Black coffee is normal. Three things - the air circulation in the restaurant is not good so we all smelled after brunch. We ordered berries and whip with the threesome and they did not arrive. Also the French toast is slight burnt and we needed to cut of the sides/edges. So therefore the 4 star rating. read more

We came here around 11am on Boxing Day and found the wait to be pretty reasonable - waiting only a few minutes before getting our table. We loved all the egg puns and jokes scattered around the restaurant, a very chill and positive atmosphere. This time me and my fiancé ordered the 'Holy Crab Eggs Benedict' and the 'Chicken & Waffles'. The crab cakes for the Bennys were delicious and very filling - it came with some crispy potatoes wedges (honestly wished they gave us some more). The menu is quite extensive with lots of options for a variety of tastes. My dining partner got the basic breakfast with bacon and overhard eggs. I got the meat-less to say poutine with artisan cheese curds, avocado and tomatoes. I really like that I was able to sub half of my potatoes with spinach or arugula. I opted for spinach. The miss for me was that the spinach wasn't cooked and the dish came out lukewarm. I was expecting the spinach to be mixed in the rest of the dish and it would come out piping hot. One of my favourite brunch spots with a huge menu. We ordered the classic breakfast and farmer John's scramblette with a side of fries and sourdough toast. The portions are big and the wait for the food is never long. The service was quick and speedy. We didn't have a reservation and waited 20 minutes but it was quicker than our quoted time. The only negative thing I would mention is it is quite loud seated indoors (they do have a heated patio). read more

Another Homerun Breakfast / Brunch Spot. My girlfriend and I were the first ones in the place Monday morning after reading the rave yelp reviews shouting this place out as one of the top brunch spots in all of Vancouver. Not only did the place live up to the reviews, but the owner also runs Maxine's Cafe and Bar which is my favorite brunch spot in all of Vancouver. I tried the Lobster and Shrimp crepe the first day and devoured it in record setting time. You can also upgrade this item and add caviar if you have some extra money in your pocket and want to really splurge. A lot of people come for the Chia Seed Pudding as well, I loved this dish and shared it with my girlfriend. I would get this again in a New York Minute. Lastly, we came back another day and had the gluten free waffles with Canadian Bacon. Waffles were on point, perhaps a little bit burnt on some of the pieces, but the Canadian bacon really took breakfast meats to the next level, I had some of the leftovers later in the day and would probably eat this every week or two if I lived in the Great Northwest. Would have been a five star but day two's service just wasn't as excellent as day one's. Good looking, fit and courteous staff. Honestly, day one was PERFECT- service, food and ambiance. Day two was not. My eggs were jammy instead of the beautiful runny yolks of day one (and my asking for them to be runny) - my hamburger patties were tasty but waaay overcooked and dry. On a recent trip, we had the Gold.digga poutine. It's Berkshire pork, poached eggs, cheese curds and potatoes all covered in yummy hollandaise sauce. When I read the words "Banana Cream Pie French Toast" on Yelp, I knew this was the spot!! All of our breakfast dishes were decadent and delicious, service was excellent, the egg-themed decor was amusing, and the views of the marina were the icing on the cake! Their farm-to-table menu has lots of staple food genres with a unique twist to them - such as several intriguing varieties of poutines and French toasts. We went with the Chasing Chickens Breakfast Poutine, the Canadian Lobster & Shrimp Crepe, and of course the Banana Cream Pie French Toast! The poutine was hearty and delicious- very rich cheese curds, brown butter hollandaise, and perfectly poached eggs on a bed of steak fries. The lobster and shrimp crepe was packed full of generous chunks of lobster and shrimp, scrambled eggs, and topped with that lovely hollandaise - it was fabulous! And just like their menu says - that Banana Cream Pie French Toast is "fully worth the calories" haha!! It wasn't too sweet and had a lovely banana cream and slices on top of some classic French toast slices - excellently plated and prepared. Their coffee is delicious too - this was definitely our fave breakfast on our little Vancouver trip. Prices are pretty decent considering the portions and quality. Service was attentive and so welcoming. They have a lovely location - right across from the marina - so it's great views from the indoor tables and patio seating alike and the area is pleasantly walkable. This is our favorite OEB location and so far our favorite breakfast in Vancouver. House made chai, extensive drink menu to tickle anyone's fancy. Large patio area along the marina waterfront. They were able to seat us at a table with a large area for our Great Dane to sit without being in the way. Staff was so helpful and came to bring our pup fresh water and lots of pets. Pancakes were fluffiness to the max. I rarely enjoy pancakes out but had to snag one of my husband's pancakes. The poutine was planned to perfection.
