    Eggs Florentine
    Mori N.

The Eggs Florentine. The construction of this classic egg dish in regards to the ingredients is spot on. Each individual ingredient paired with the rest is not only creative but culinarily harmonious. Imagine....a perfectly toasted crisp butter croissant with a thinly covered sliver of Tomato Jam, a delicate spread of smashed avocado and perfectly seasoned steamed Spinach all topped with a medium poached egg taking a final bow for the encore before the feast. That would've been ideal. It's not how it was. There was an overload of Hollandaise and an excessive amount of Tomato Jam, which oddly enough tasted just like Strawberry Jam. So, with the cream of the Hollandaise and the sweetness of the Jam, and it all being way too much..... I could not taste the spinach, nor the avocado, and nor the yolk, which was such a pity because those are all incredible flavours in their own right. Sadly, the amount of Jam and Sauce macheted its way through more than half the flavour profile this dish could've had. It just ended up having a very clear dominating taste of the sweet Jam and the cream of the Hollandaise. That's what it was reduced down to unfortunately for this dish. Also, it was ordered medium poached but served soft. The Service nonetheless was great. Friendly hostess and my server Hayleigh was wonderful and executed her job with ease and high standard.

As if OEB heard my wishes to find new tasty foods, they came up with a new menu called Chicken & Waffles. My friend and I had previously had bitter memories of trying and getting disappointed with Chicken & Waffles in a few other restaurants. Those unpleasant experiences made us debate whether we should stick to our safe choice (only waffles, but very delicious) or order the new dish. In the end, we knew we had to try it. We both had a feeling that we would be haunted, otherwise, by the thought that OEB Chicken & Waffles could be tasty, but we missed out by being cowards. I am thrilled to announce that OEB delivered once again! The sauce that crispy deep-fried chicken was coated with was a real kick! It was sweet, savoury, yet a tad spicy at the same time, and it went so well with already so delicious waffles. Kudos to the OEB chefs for creating and perfecting a new menu! OEB has become more than a brunch place in my heart. It is now a place that brings me the excitement and joy of tasting good food. I look forward to finding many more happy surprises at OEB. Who knows? Maybe OEB would be my culinary Santa and bring another sensational menu for holidays.

Overall experience was okay. I do appreciate that you're able to make a reservation; this is one of the few places in North Van that allow reservations. Our server, Olivia, was a little snarky; her tone just made her come off that way, which made our experience a little uncomfortable. The food was okay. It came out room temperature which means it was likely sitting there for a while. There were still tables available at 11am on a Saturday so they weren't that busy. The breakfast potatoes, even though they were cold, were the best part of the meal.

Firstly, the use of the waitlist was perfect. We got there and waited a couple minutes before being sat at a table versus the bar. I have short legs and the bar seats have my legs dangling. (They offered the bar immediately when we came in). Secondly, Ash was our server and she has a remarkable presence, very personable and her kindness shows through. I'd return just to see her. The food was also a hit, I had the Gold (rush?) Poutine with Berkshire Pork and truffle. This bowl was hefty and I'm kinda ashamed I ate every bite but it was so delicious. There was care and attention as they made this bowl because I was able to have topping on every bite. There were cheese curds on the bottom which had pull even at the end of the meal! The Brown butter hollandaise paired well with the truffle. And the pork was crispy and plentiful. The fries are so good and perfect vehicle for all the quality toppings. My spouse had the Gold standard waffle with bacon lardon and raved about the taste and texture of the waffle. Yep, we will be back!

I stopped into OEB Breakfast Co. before heading out for the day. This place had decent reviews and the menu looked pretty substantial. I ordered the soul in a bowl poutine style dish and it was absolutely wonderful; very favorable and filling. All of the staff were exceptionally nice and kudos to the cooks! The place was large with ample seating and clean throughout. Easy, free parking out front on a Sunday, which was an added bonus. Next time I'm in Vancouver I will certainly be back!

The Laks (lox scramble) with rye

This place had great ambiance, customer service, and food. I loved The Laks (lox scramble) although it had a few too many capers. The rye toast with triple berry jam was delicious. The caramel latte was yummy. The Confit de Canard (duck poutine) was also good. Would come back here again to try other food.

Lobster scramble breakfast poutine - IG @bougiefoodieboi

This place is known for their breakfast poutine, and when you are in Canada, of course one of the first things an American thinks of Canada is poutine. I made reservations for Saturday brunch for 11:15am and despite it being prime brunch time, they were willing to accommodate adding 2 more guests to the reservation. This place is better than the other locations in that regard, as it is less busy and offers prime weekend brunch reservations. If you don't see a reservation, Yelp waitlist is super helpful, though wait times in weekend brunch can be 1+ hour. We tried the lobster scramble breakfast poutine and French toast trifle. For drinks we got the mimosa flight. I really enjoyed the lobster scramble breakfast poutine and there was a decent amount of lobster. They also added shrimp as well, maybe because having just lobster would make the dish very pricey. The eggs are cooked to a medium and the overall poutine is very creamy. I am a fan. The French toast trifle was okay. It looked good on pictures but the French toast was a bit dry. I do like that they added lots of fruits (blueberries and strawberries). Mimosa flight is aesthetic but tastes pretty typical. Get it for the gram, but I would skip since the value is not really there. 6 oz total of mimosa is like barely a standard drink, and it was 17CAD which is high for a non-novel drink. But it is good that you get the same amount of alcohol as 2 standard mimosas served and it adds up to the same price. Service is okay as water refills are available. Just know that food can take a while because it can get busy. Beyond the restaurant's control, also note that there is plenty of parking BUT they are 1 hour parking. You most definitely won't be able to finish brunch in 1 hour because food itself takes 20-30 minutes and you likely need to wait for a table to begin with, plus walking back to the parking spot.

Eggs benny with tallow fried potatoes
    Keira H.

This is one of my favourite places to eat when I'm in town. The tallow fried potatoes are insane! Good service, especially on keeping that coffee cup filled. I love people watching at their North Van location and the interior is so bright and cheery.

Beef bulgogi eggs Benedict with the most delicious sweet smoked red pepper sauce. HIGHLY recommend. Sauce on the side.
    Amy D.

Visiting in town for a few days and made a quick stop at this adorable breakfast eatery! Pro tip - it gets pretty busy, so make your reservation ahead if you can! We walked in and were seated in 15 min. Great selection of different breakfast, including the Korean Beef Bulgogi eggs Benedict! The mean was so incredibly savory and had a fantastic soft spice. Served with some sweet smoked red bell peppers and potatoes! Brisket eggs Bennie - think tender slices of steak over a gluten free English muffin ($1.00 extra), and upon request fingerling potatoes! You can also pay $1.00 and upgrade to pesto fingerling potatoes. Mimosas were delicious, but on the smaller side to be quite honest. Coffee runneth plenty, so no issues there! Definitely recommend! There are a few locations, so try one near you! Thank you Sevval for the wonderful service!

I have been there three times and everyone the food was delicious and the service pretty quick. The ambiance is friendly and the decor is pretty. I tried the vegetarian omelette but also the gnocchi with carbonara. It was delicious. Their smoothies are also really fresh and tasty.

    Lobster & Shrimp Crepe
    Anna L.

Easy reservation online. Service was good despite being busy. Street parking is mostly limited to 1hr, but there is a paid lot right next to it. We came with a stroller and noticed a few other families so it seems to be a kid friendly venue. Food came fast and was good. We had a mix of sweet and savory. Portions were good as well, we were quite full. Ceasars are on the spicy side.

    Bulgogi Benedict
    Bea F.

Lovely brunch spot in North Van. I've been to their other location Yaletown and food/service is uniform across both locations. Wait times vary, with weekends obviously being the most busy. So be prepared! I'm a big eggs Benedict lover and usually go with a classic, but was curious about the bulgogi, as I love bulgogi in its authentic form. I wouldn't say it was my favorite take, as it was a bit too rich and salty for my taste, but still a fun Asian fusion option. However, despite this, I still had a great experience and will continue to order different items on the menu!

Our guide was the owner and we are curious science minded people so it was a great match. Jan is an excellent teacher and story-teller. The tasting really educated me but let's not mince words,.. it was also tasty! The final phase of the tour is to show you how to mix gins into cocktails with a little hands on mixology tutorial with batertender Ky. All told several samples, and cocktails were included - all amazing. All of the staff were great. It was just a really enjoyable afternoon and worth of a rare 5 stars! I think this place is a must stop for a day adventure from Vancouver to the Shipyards area. It should also be noted that these guys aren't kidding around: national and international spirit awards across the board with some really quality innovative (but not gimmicky) products here.
