Parents bought a furnace from them ~10 years ago. The circuit board stopped working, and I was told to "turn the power off and on" every time there was a brown out, or else the fan would seize. Despite doing this, the coil froze, melted, and destroyed the motor causing thousands in damages. We had our furnace stop working in the middle of a winter night. I talked to a tech on the phone, who talked me, a guy with ten thumbs, through a procedure that got it working again. The condensation discharge tube on my new furnace started to freeze up where it exited the house, making the furnace go into safety mode because there was nowhere for the water to go. I called Oelerich, since they had originally installed the furnace in 2014. These jokers left oil spots in my driveway, garbage in my back yard, walked on my carpet w/out protective booties - and after 6 hours still failed to fix it. Then they tried to sell me a new condensation pump. Instead, I used the existing pump and half an hour of my time, to route the discharge tube from the furnace to my kitchen sink trap. Problem solved. So in the end I paid these clowns $150 to leave litter in my backyard, get dirt in my carpet, and drip or oil on my driveway. Because they didn't fix the problem! read more

Run away from this company as fast as you can! They charged me $1150 for something that should of been $500. It was for a client of mine that was loosing her house and had to go to a mobile home. They totally ripped her off and took advantage of a very poor person as far as I am concerned. What kind of a human being and company does that!! My friend had call them and needed a new furnace and then got a second quote from a competitor, 2nd company was $2000 less! The fact that we both have know the owner of Oelerich for almost 40 years meant nothing! If you want to deal with his wife on the phone and his son at your house and the owner with the pricing, good luck getting a fair and reasonable price!! One of their technician did the tune up on the furnace, his son was with him since the technician experiencing back pain and is training his son in cleaning the furnace. I overheard the father telling the son not to clean some of the parts properly. this is a bad experience having a Dad telling his son to be dishonest. I don't trust Oelerich read more

Of course the air conditioning went out during a 90 degree hot spell! I called Oelerich and they were very responsive. Mike was the professional sent by Oelerich and he was awesome! He explained everything to me and found the problem quickly. Luckily it was not an expensive fix. Refused to listen to me when I described troubleshooting I had done on my AC unit. Would not schedule appointment until I did additional trouble shooting. Gave me a hard time about calling after 4 pm even though they are open until 5 pm. No apology for poor customer relations. Do OK work if you can get them to your house but absolutely not worth the hassle. Called a competitor and had them out the same afternoon without being given a hard time. read more

Yesterday was the coldest day in over 30 years. Unfortunately, the furnace stopped blowing heat. So we called for repair. I was very impressed that first they walked me through a few exercises to try to avoid a house call. However, when those didn't fix it, they were out to the house in 20 minutes. Not only did they fix it quickly, but the repair guy took the time to explain everything, including the trouble lights, to me. Having used Oelrich for over 20 years for inspections, maintenance, etc., it appears that they are as loyal to us as we are to them. Extremely happy with their service! read more

Would not recommend. No transparency in pricing. Did not itemize parts and labor. Pretty sure I got taken. Cannot understand how a simple repair requiring replacement of a $10 part. (Amazon price new) cost more than $400? No second chance here. read more

Called to make an appointment and was told they were only doing wait lists. My service need was not immediate so I asked for potentially a future date. Was told they are booked out next week and just doing wait list. I asked what the wait list meant and was told they will try and get to me but not a promise of service - understandable. I then asked if they would just randomly call one day in the next week and say we are coming today - they said yes that's how it works??? How in the world does that work, people just sit around waiting for them to show up. I am happy they are so busy, clearly they are not interested in my business - which most likely would have wound up with the sale of two new AC units...not great business model IMO. read more

Oelerich told me I needed a new air conditioner when it only needed cleaning. What is really sad is that I had paid Oelerich to clean my air conditioner before it stopped working! Because my unit was was only five years old when Oelerich told me it needed to be replaced, I called my builder. He sent the original installer out to inspect the unit. The installer had it working in no time. He said all it needed was a good cleaning. I now use my installer for servicing. When I told him about the situation with Oelerich, he told me that he has seen this happening with certain companies, and that homeowners should get a second opinion when they are told to replace a unit. read more

RUN FROM THIS COMPANY AS FAST AS YOU CAN!!! I recently called them for a client of mine with no heat, it was in the 20's outside. He started with why he had to charge her more to come out on a Saturday to pay his guy, turned out to be his son. The son said probably between $800 - $900 to fix the inducer motor and switch. Jerry the owner whom I have known for over 30 years, quoted $1150 and when asked, refused to lower the price. I explained my client had no heat and was moving in a week to a $12,500 mobile home and had no money. .He replied with hewasn't charging a trip charge for coming back to install (do they ever...not that I have found). Turns out the other companies that I called after the fact, charged no more thatn $550 for this completed job. Yes, he charged my financially poor client $600 too much!!! i have been a local agent for over 36 years. I have never seen a person taken advantage of as much and robbed of money in my opinion in this area as he did to her! I lowered my commission to cover the costs since she did not have it, really I felt like he robbed me!!!! Please feel free to email if you need a good and honest and reputable hvac company. Price was reasonable to have Oelerich out; however the technician didn't seam to care to help me in the cheapest way. When I told him what was going on and what I had already done (my pilot light would not stay on) I was told that cleaning what I did "never works." I was quoted $600+ for the part I needed, but that I "should just replace the furnace because it's 30 years old." I had someone else out to get a second opinion and they cleaned my furnace out and changed the thermocouple and What a surprise...I HAVE HEAT. So I went from a $600 estimate with Oelerich to a $153 fix with someone more competent. I felt like the technician from Oelerich didn't want to take the time to try and clean my furnace or replace the thermocouple. Very disappointed and I will not recommend Oelerich. read more
