We booked an off-road Hummer tour the day after Thanksgiving. I didn't know what to expect, but the guy who answered the phone said it would be the most fun thing we would do on our trip to the Smokies. I'm happy to say that he was right. For a girl and guy from Raleigh, a trip to the Smokies is a treat in and of itself. A trip down the side of a mountain in an Army-issue Humvee is beyond cool. I didn't know what to expect. When we arrived, we saw the Humvee and took a seat at some picnic tables. We waited for our drivers to arrive. The Humvees were pretty burly looking- covered with mud and filth, so as to confirm we were in for some off-road fun and adventure. They have been outfitted with raised seats, so that you can see the madness that you're driving on/over/around at all times. We met our very country, but very funny driver. We drove about 20 minutes to a mountain trail on 40 acres that Offroad Voyages owns. The climb up the mountain was cool and crisp and filled with the excitement of the unknown. We were followed by another Humvee, driven by a fearless Czech driver. We drove through 3 feet of water, streams, rocks, across branches and around tight turns. It was a BUMPY, BUMPY ride. If you get car sick, do not seek off-road adventure. Instead, shop at the nearby Tanger Outlets. The trip is muddy. The drivers climb to the pinnacle and let everyone take a break (you get physically tired from bracing yourself and laughing) at the scenic overlook, which was beautiful. Make sure that you use the restroom before you go- there's no where to go until the tour is over. Down massive hills and around massive turns, it becomes quite clear- the military have chosen this vehicle as their mode of transport because it is unstoppable. It will not be denied. This tour was awesome. I highly recommend that you spend the $35/ticket and go have some off-road madness. The Tanger Outlets are tame and lame by comparison and that's saying a lot- since this girl loves, loves, loves to shop. read more

We were confused and manager tried to offer us a solution of giving us 2 rolls instead of 1. We paid $60, I mean OF COURSE we should be getting 2 rolls for $60. They tried to say it wasn't their problem, and then stuff went down when the Owner of the park came yelling at us why we are taking so long and absolutely screaming at us (not letting us explain or show proof), saying to get the f out of his property and he will call the cops, he's the owner, and we are a waste of times, and much much more. It was unbelievable. He made my friend cry on her birthday, and honestly, I really hope people don't support a business like this just based off how the owner handled it. I own many businesses and in a situation like this, it's a super simple resolution, it won't "hurt" you or even "cost" you to just to give the customer what they paid for and deal with the third party vendor. Please, they don't deserve the business.

Be prepared to do a lot of walking, as the park is divided into several themed sections, each with about four or five rides. Parking costs $25, so it's something to include in your budget before you arrive. One thing to know before you go is that if you want unlimited fountain drink refills, you'll need to purchase a refillable cup. The cup costs around $30, and you must scan it each time you refill your drink. One of the highlights of our visit was exploring Dolly Parton's museums. They were beautiful, informative, and gave us a deeper appreciation for Dolly's life, career, and accomplishments. I left the park a new fan! We spent about six hours at Dollywood and still didn't have enough time to see everything. There's so much to explore that you could easily spend an entire day or even two there. We didn't have a full meal while we were at the park, but we enjoyed several snacks, including churro fries, a pretzel, and nachos, which were all tasty. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely recommend Dollywood to anyone looking for a fun, family-friendly destination. Just be sure to wear comfortable shoes, budget for parking and drink refills if you plan to purchase them, and allow plenty of time to experience everything the park has to offer! We paid money for our entrance and were immediately greeted with blatant disrespect, dehumanization, and racism. Many of the white folks started getting out of the pool when we got in. One child wanted to have fun with us, and his guardian quickly gathered him in fake concern for our folks, saying "I hope he isn't bothering you" when we were all clearly welcoming him. When a white woman started to swim with us, the lifeguard told her to stop. The pool staff continuously came over to us and gave us rules that they were not enforcing on the white swimmers. They began with telling us we could not swim in the deep end, and yet when white folks got in the deep end they said nothing. They then continued to criminalize our activities by telling us we couldn't splash each other, or horse around. A staff member higher up kept monitoring us coming back and forth and even set up a chair to sit. They would only engage with the white adult present, refusing to recognize or speak to the youth or adults of color. We noticed this behavior and began singing "what side are you on my people? What side are you on? We on the freedom side." This chant was met with extreme responses from many people at the pool. One lifeguard called the police on us- she is pictured here and is currently training to become a cop. The officer who arrived is her uncle. They later informed us that the police were called because we were "singing racist songs." Some of the responses we heard from the pool staff were: "We aren't racist, and I wont shoot you, but they (the police) will." "It doesn't do any good to stir the pot." "These songs could get you killed." "It's good that the youth learn their heritage, but the civil rights movement was 50 years ago." Once the police arrived and we attempted to leave, a cop told a young person in our group "keep walking nigger," and threatened other young people in our group with arrest and physical harms. While the Civil Rights Movement was 50 years ago, anti-blackness (in the south AND the north) is alive and well. We paid to go there to have fun, and were met with racism and threats of violence of our people.. some as young as 12. This is unnacceptable, and we implore the pool in question to fire the lifeguard who called the cops unprovoked, and seriously interrogate their practices as a safe space for young people. Life guards should guard life.

We rented an off-road vehicle from Offroad Gatlinburg yesterday expecting an actual off-road…read moreexperience. Based on their advertising, website, and what we were told when booking, we believed we'd be taking the vehicle onto mountain trails and participating in genuine off-roading. Unfortunately, that was not the case. When we arrived, the employee at the front desk immediately informed us that we needed proof of auto insurance and a credit card. While that's completely understandable, none of this was communicated to us beforehand, so we had to spend time digging through our phones and paperwork to find the information. When I explained that this requirement was not included in the information we received, he argued with me rather than simply acknowledging the oversight. Throughout the entire interaction, he acted as though we were inconveniencing him. The biggest disappointment came when we asked about the trails. We were told that we could not actually take the vehicle off-road and had to remain on public roads unless we paid extra for a guided tour. This was completely different from what we understood when booking. As locals, we drive these mountain roads regularly and can enjoy those views anytime in our own vehicle. The whole reason we rented an "off-road" vehicle was to experience off-roading. Once the employee learned that we weren't tourists, his attitude became even worse. He seemed annoyed that we were asking questions. The drive itself was beautiful because the Smoky Mountains are beautiful, but there was nothing about the experience that justified renting a specialty off-road vehicle. We could have seen the exact same sights from our personal car. To make matters worse, when we returned the vehicle and asked if there was anything else we needed to do before leaving, we were then told that we were responsible for refilling the gas tank. Again, this had never been mentioned beforehand. In fact, we were told when booking that gas was included in the rental cost. Overall, the vehicle was fine and the scenery was great, but the communication, professionalism, and customer service were extremely disappointing. If you're looking for a true off-road experience, make sure you fully understand what is and isn't included before booking. Based on our experience, I would recommend looking into other companies first.

We wanted to surprise our 11 year-old with something other than white water rafting. Don't get me wrong we love our white water, but we just wanted something new and the rivers here can be pretty tame. So after finding a few outfitters we went with this operation mainly based on how helpful the girl on the phone was. We went on a couple of practice zips each a little further up than the last until away we went. The guides did not inspire fear at all and actually encouraged us to go faster and brake later. They even bounced the more adventurous of the group around while on the line. The view was beautiful and the last two Zips alone made the 2 hour round trip worth it. If you go you can ask for Joe and Steve, but really it seemed like everyone working there was great!. Around back of the building is the dog house with some pretty satisfying Chili Dogs so you can grab a bite for the road. Don't forget to sign the wall. Look for us "3 of 6 Pearson People Were Here" on the bottom center.

I would give this place 8/10 they only have 3 rides available but I can say the highlight of this…read morepark is the tubbing ride it has a drop had an amazing time . Family friendly .
