A little disappointed that we came when one of their coolers was broken (we didn't get to sample their wide variety of ciders!) However, we still got to sample a few different types of their cider, thanks to the really nice owner. He even explained a bit about their cider press and the local goods they offered around the store. We came on a really busy time of day since they were a pit stop for a local biking race. However, it was just lovely being here. The cider was delicious - we ended up buying their spiced cider, half gallon. They really fill these jars right up to the brim. We also got ice cream (also delicious) and the nice owner even allowed us to pay with card dispute being a little short of the $10 fee. Overall, I'm glad we made the trek out here. We got some nice local goods and enjoyed hanging out around the farm (they have a table outside to enjoy life and consume their goodies). They even have a chicken coop on top which the owner told us we could go explore/look at! The vintage cider press is super cool, and this year they had gluten free cider donuts. Bonus for me! I can't tell you how often I'm in a business and they upsell me on a product I can't have, usually it "We have blah blah delicious gluten filled this or that " and I say "I'm gluten free" and then the conversation stops. Cute place with overpriced stuff and disturbing political references. We went here looking for Apple cider doughnuts. We asked if they made them there. Woman was cagey and weird about it. Finally admitted that they didn't make them but would not disclose where they got them made locally. Ok. We bought 4 for a lot of money. As a native upstate New Yorker , Im here to tell you No, don't do it. These are not it. These are stale, packaged basic mass produced doughnuts with some cider in the mix perhaps. You can get a box of these stale nothing like apple coder doughnuts as we know them at Trader Joe's for about the price these people are charging for each that they keep in the back, likely still in their TJs or Franz boxes. That's so slimy imo for a roadside, " farmstand " to do. Don't pretend you are selling an exclusive specialty item and pawn off that obviously boxed stale bs for that price. When I'm in Kirkland or Woodinville, I make it a point to swing by Minea Farms store front! They've got some groovy apple concoctions, including cider, apple fruit leather, apple butter, apple sauce, apple vinegar and fresh pressed apple juice of various apple types (pink lady, honeycrisp, braeburn, etc.) which they grow on the farm and press on site. A gallon of fresh pressed apples will run about $9.75 and as I recall a half gallon is $5.50. They typically also have other varieties that are pressed fresh and then frozen, if you prefer to have a flavor not freshly available. Sometimes they have fresh eggs, but they go fast...and they have plenty of fresh honey on hand...but you have to put a deposit down on the honey bear glass container. They take Visa/Master Card, so don't let not having cash on hand concern you. The family running the establishment are always nice and courteous. Only complaints would be about parking and signage. If you don't know about this place, you will drive right by it. Also, on a busy day, you could block Woodinville-Redmond Rd waiting for a spot to park. Super fun spontaneous trip to Woodinville Today! Had lunch with my partners in crime,aka ,my awesome neighbors(i was the 5th wheel since my husband was working) ,then wine tasting and then....we needed ice cream. Specifically ,Lavender ice cream. The Lavender Farm ,was were we had previously been tempted by the dark chocolate lavender bars ,was closed to the public for a private event. :( Oh no, my 'hood doesn't give up that quickly.....We drove on down the road and saw Lavender colored balloons and we were like, turn, turn ,turn !! Just about to close, the very friendly man waved us in and welcomed us! What a cute place! Apples, cherries, jams, honeys, eggs, cider, crostini, cheese, oh my! I am on a farm house decor kick currently and this place made me very happy, totally my scene. The folks were super friendly! Us gals had our ice cream fix and the men tried some cider and bought chocolates and cherries. The owners invited us to enjoy our ice cream by the outdoor picnic tables, even though they were almost closed for the day. We DID! Took some super fun pictures with some cow cutouts and the owner came out laughing, he got kicked out of that! We are a different bunch..... Stopped in because we saw a sign that read Cider. I didn't even think twice before we pulled in. (To tell you the truth, I thought there was hard cider. There is not so be forewarned.) Walked in, cute couple laying out front with their giant great dane who is as friendly as can be. We go into their little store and have a looksee. Lots of apples, different types of non-alcoholic ciders, various fruit products and local honey. Not much else was going on here but it was a nice detour and break from our journey. I went to Minea Farm for the first time today and can concur that they have good cider. Mr. Minea's attitude is very condescending towards others that do not share his politics. They currently have a sign up that says, "Don't Redefine Marriage: Reject Referendum 74." However, we didn't notice this until we were done paying, but the sign goes to show that the owner is someone that mixes politics with his business. When we trying the samples, he asked us where we were from. When we mentioned we were grew up in other parts of the country where cider is popular, he started mumbling some weird comments. Also, we have 2 Obama bumper stickers on my boyfriend's car. I guess Mr. Minea saw our stickers from his window prior to our entrance because we did not say anything about politics while we were inside. After we had paid for some apple cider, he started making comments and assumptions about how my boyfriend is a Democrat and gave my boyfriend very exasperated sighs and looks, and then looked at his posted sign, which we then noticed. Mr. Minea's assistant was helpful with samples so we thanked him while Mr. Minea quickly walked away from us awkwardly. Although they have great cider, Minea Farm is not somewhere that we would go back to and support given their condescending tone towards others that do not agree with their politics. I would recommend going to Lattin's in Olympia for cider. Lattin's is worth the trek and they have even more amazing apple cider with great customer service. This is a small store with the most flavorful spiced cider I've ever tasted. It was kept warm. The other ciders were available for tasting. Some tart, some sweet. There's something for everyone. $10 for a gallon or $5.75 for half gallon of cider. It's delicious. I found this place via Yelp in my quest for some Autumn apple cider. As usual, Yelp fans did not disappoint me with their reviews! I've drove past this place 1000x, never stopping in. It was easy to find. Parking lot is small, as is the little store. TOTALLY worth it for the apple cider. When I was there they had two types, one was made with Jonagold apples and I do not recall what the other was made out of. I bought the one made with the Jonagold apples - YUMMY!!! Just saw the sign on the road and stopped by to check it out, SO glad we did, this place is a great find. The owner was lovely and had us try samples of the fresh ciders =) I thought the cran-apple was really good but the boy thought it was too sour. Decided on Pink Lady cider, tart and delicious! Got some granny smith leather, should have bought more than one. They also have raw honey and we got a jar of fireweed, which is sweet and flowery. Will be back and recommend to friends! read more

The cider at Minea Farm is fantastic! I'm always shocked by how much I can drink! When I went in last week there was a couple guys with large carboys... aiming to get the best cider that they could for making hard cider at home. No suger added, not anything added... just pure squeezed apples. It's worth the price! You can't get anything comprable at any grocery store. Grab some honey and apple butter while you're at it. Ok, I'm originally from the Mitten and have lived in Seattle for several years and there are times I miss the midwest (although not usually) but when fall rolls around something within stirs up the hankering for apple orchards. With Washington State being the largest apple producer in the United States (the Mitten coming in 3rd) I yearn for apple picking, APPLE CIDER, and APPLE CIDER DONUTS!!! ( I guess it's the 4 year old child in me from years passed back at home with Apple orchards dotting the state of Michigan and quite a few farms a stones throw away from where I grew up). Anyways, my thinking has always been biggest apple producer in the state= tons of apple orchards with cider and cider donuts. WRONG!!! Yes we live in Seattle and you would think there would be a variety of choices not too far away and again, WRONG!!! The Best so far for my apple cider and cider donut cravings I found was at Lattins Farm in Olympia WA (I've yet to try Rosabella's farm in Skagit). So my g/f and I made a trip to Minea Farm in Woodinville and the APPLE CIDER is there is no other word for it but........BRILLIANT!!! and it is unpasteurized (hedge your bets) so it's not sold in grocery stores. Minea farm would get a 5 star rating from me based on the Apple Cider (name an apple and they make cider out of it), the spiced cider, and the array of other apple products they have (sauce, butter, dried, and fresh). The only reason I give it a two stars and I'm not one to harangue someone for their political beliefs as long as they don't preach theirs to me. That's exactly what I got, I should've noticed it when I saw the Reject-RN 74 sign hanging on the back wall ( we should've walked away then). But again, I'm not going not sample just because of their politics. It was not until after I paid when the owner made a comment to me about voting for President Obama ( I have two stickers on my car). From that comment and the Reject RN-74 sign, WE WILL NOT EVER BE VISITING MINEA FARMS EVER AGAIN! Yes, we will travel back to Olympia to Lattins or Rosabellas. My partner and I were in the mood for apple cider after spending Sunday morning with a couple friends of ours. My partner mentioned that he knew of a really good place around Woodinville so the 4 of us decide to take a drive there. It took us about 30 minutes to get there and as soon as we walked in we were greeted by this Reject R74 inside the store. We were not only surprised but also very offended and immediately walked out. We will never patronize a a business that doesn't respect equality. Even though we respect differences in opinions, this is pretty much just telling us that we are not welcome there and we have decided to never set a foot there ever again. We've made sure to tell all our friends. No matter how good the cider might be, as someone else here said, it would have left a really bitter taste in my mouth. read more

My husband and I visited Minea Farm in late October 2012, just before election day. Like another poster, I am originally from MI, now live in CA, and when autumn rolls around have a serious hankering for cider from a proper 100-year-old cider press. We drove out to Minea Farm from our friend's home in Bellevue, early enough to make sure we were there when it opened - that's how excited I was. As I browsed and loaded up with goods, I heard Christian music playing, but no matter; a business owner can play whatever music they'd like. And then I turned around and saw the anti gay marriage signs behind the register. I set my goods down and turned around to leave. The woman behind the register said "You won't be taking this?" I said "Not after seeing that sign." I think it came as a surprise since we're a hetero married couple and by all outward appearances not obvious sympathizers so... surprise! Next time I'll remember my pink triangle armband. Any business can freely post any signs it likes, and we can freely choose whether or not to spend money based on such signs. A friend and I stopped by Minea Farms a couple weekends ago...it was her mission, not mine, as I'm not usually wild about apple cider. After my Minea experience, however, I'm a cider convert. On this day they were sampling three different ciders made from Granny Smith, Jonagold, and Aurora apples. They were all so delicious it was hard to choose just one but ultimately I went with a half-gallon of the Jonagold which cost around $4.50. Gallons are $7-8. Be sure to taste the apple butter, which is divine...it turns plain bread into a dessert! It's just a funny shaped driveway ON A STEEP HILL so be ready for tight crazy parking especially during peak weekend hours. Prepare yourself. This is off the busy 202 highway between Woodinville and Redmond so getting out is just as fun as entering. It's very easy to miss this place even though there's a big apple sign on the 202. Stop in! Usually there's more than 2 cider selections to choose from. You'll get free yummy samples to decide on. Also remember to try their local honey selection. Blueberry honey is so good! We also spoiled ourselves with their great selection of local ice cream, too. Ask for their frozen cider because it's cheaper than what's in the fridge in front. Make sure to look beyond the room you're standing in to see their giant cider press operation in the back. Cider is expensive. Not just from here but from anywhere. This is because it's work to prep the apples and even just to gather apples either from eastern Washington or from your neighbor's tree. We catch cider pressing parties and it's about the same cost as buying from this farm. We also press our own at home when we're up for the challenge. This place is still equivalent if not better than whenever we try it on our own (with a lot of grunt work) so go out and support a local business. It's that good and WORTH IT. read more

I've been looking for local honey and found Minea Farm through Yelp. I'd have to say that I'm surprised at the fact people are refusing to buy product because of politics. Some in their reviews have said they won't ever return because of the owner's beliefs displayed by a referendum sign or that they spoke up about politics. Really?! Another reviewer mentioned that they "respect differences of opinions"... yet you refuse to do business with someone who doesn't believe the same or have the same political views you do? Then that seems more like intolerance from your angle, to me. Just because someone doesn't support YOUR political views doesn't mean intolerance... it just means they have different beliefs! It seems like these days no one can stand up for what they believe if it's not the popular opinion. Politics and beliefs aside, I'll gladly support Minea Farm for the quality products they sell here on the Eastside, and to support a local farm/business. I'd give it 4 stars just because it's easily missed if you don't know it's there. It would be great if hours are posted by the road so you can see hours of operation when driving by. read more

Woodinville Valley IS NOT DISNEYLAND. I drive by this place every day and looked forward to going there. They are open only from 11AM to 5PM Thursday through Sunday, so I had to catch them at the right time... Friday after work I stopped at Minea Farm in Redmond, on Woodinville Valley Road to buy some eggs and they were asking $5.25 a dozen for XL chicken eggs. The cider was tasty but I wasn't looking for cider I buy and use lots of eggs, Ive grown accustom to prices for free range and organic eggs being in the $3.00 range but $5.25 is uncalled for. Thats almost 50-cents per egg when regular eggs at the supermarket are less than 15-cents per egg. The eggs I buy tend to be around 20-cents per egg. I ask as I was leaving after being charged more than double the price posted for Fuji apples with bruises and was told that the high price of duck eggs is what makes their chicken egg prices so high. Huh? Good luck getting an honest price for anything at this touristy farm. I was charged 2.60 for apples that should have cost $1.35 at the $.60 per pound price posted, Really? .$5.25 a dozen for chicken eggs indeed!! When I called to complain I was growled at by this nice honest farmer?? I'll stick to more reliable souces with no multiple cider tasting to distract from decent prices. Get real fancy egg purveyor! I use over 400 eggs per year and buy them retail by the dozen. STOP the shell game farmer Minea! read more
