Terrible service. I came in looking for something pretty basic. Counted at least 5 employees including the person i suspect is he "manager" around the floor (probably 10 customers in the store tops, so not busy). Wandered around for 10 mins trying to find what I thought would be an easy item to locate. During that time I saw multiple employees who would dart by while on the phone or too "busy" even to ask if I needed help. They seemed mainly busy trying to avoid dealing with customers! Couldn't find what I came for, but went to front register to pay for two other items I had found. Nobody at front register but 3 elderly folks chatting and apparently waiting to be checked out. They waived twice towards the "service desk" (which for this store is an oxymoron). No recognition. I set my two items on the counter and left. So I'm a very tall and conspicuous guy wandering a near empty store obviously looking for something for 10 mins then trying to buy stuff and I'm not sure I was ever even noted by an employee! Somewhere this company has a board of directors having meetings to devise bold new strategies to grow their business. Maybe they should just visit their stores - if they are all like this one, the only "strategy" they need is to have managers and employees who show more than indifference towards customers! Mine was about a $200 potential sale. Imagine if they are losing 5 other folks like me per day due to staff indifference and they have 1500 stores. That is $1000 per day per store - across 1500 stores that would amount to over $500 mil per year in lost sales! Crazy! This review is for the print and copy center. I have ordered multiple times from the online print and copy where I pick up a day later. I have never once received a confirmation message of the order being ready but never had any issues with pickup next day. I went yesterday to pick up my order. The establishment was empty, save a few customers and 1 man waiting at the print center because it looked like the person working there had some technical difficulties. She was on the phone with what seemed like a tech person. I was waiting in line patiently until she finally asked what I needed. I said I was there to pick up. She asked if I got a confirmation saying that the order is ready. I said I didn't but asked if she could just check to see if my name was there in the filing. When orders are done, they usually set it aside in a filing area. She didn't. She just went back on the phone. It takes less than 1 minute to check to see if I had my item there. I was very tempted to go behind the counter to help troubleshoot her computer AND look for my order under my name. Yes, it should be that simple. She was on a headset, so it would not have been hard for her to maneuver and just look for my name. I am very disappointed in the customer service of this location and will no longer put in any orders from here. read more

I had some time to kill and needed some supplies for work so I stopped into this office depot. It was a little awkward to drive into, but once in front of store, I saw this was a really big store. In search of clearance items I walked around the perimeter and everything in between catching some really good items on clearance. One dollar candles and sturdy binders for 1/2 price. Also checking out was efficient, pleasant and without waiting. Great job Office Depot in Cary, I will happily return next time I'm in your neck of the woods. read more

This is probably the single biggest Office Depot I have ever seen... They've got a pretty good selection of all their stuff. I went in for an office chair and got really lucky. They had a great selection, were running great sales, and this was the easiest thing I've ever had to put together. I'd like it to be organized a tad better, but overall, I like it. Very big selection and they always have what I need to a certain level - they don't cary any specialty computer items which is a bummer. But for simple hardware - they usually have everything I need. Service is great and everyone is always nice. Despite how large this store is, it is never jam packed so my wait is never long - which is what I need. Prices are also very reasonable. Great order online and pick up in store option - makes the process even that much quicker!! read more

It's always frustrating to me to use a big box store. I was in here 4 days ago and needed an office desk. I talked to two very helpful people and the biggest issue was would it be delivered on time. I was assured it would be delivered by Friday. Great. Saturday came and no desk. Started calling and found out it would be many more days before that desk would show up. Not really what I planned. So Saturday now I am on the hunt for a desk that I can take with me today. Must have now. Check several other big boxes and try here again. I walk in and ask for the store manager and low and behold it's the same guy who helped me Wednesday. He remember all of the conversation except he put blame on the female who was with him and said she promised the delivery not him. To me it was their company who promised and failed. Don't pass the buck, stand up like a man and take the heat. I did settle on a desk and he folded to pressure and gave me a good price for the issues. Problem solved. But why should it be so hard to do business with a big box store? read more

After my bad experience at the Goldsboro store last week I decided since I was in Raleigh Saturday to try the Cary store. What a pleasant surprise! What great customer service! I needed a new overnight bag and had a $20 off coupon. The ones on display were nice, but my wife asked our salesman, Kumail, if he had a fresh one in the back that hadn't been handled and rolled around, etc. Kumail got the rolling ladder and found one, still in the box! No complaint, no hesitancy. Get in line at the front of the store (this is a popular Office Depot, and I know why now), and who has come up to help the cashiers out but Kumail, who ends up checking us out as well. You win the hustle award too Kumail! Next time we need a large (i.e..expensive) office item, the Cary store will be our first stop! read more

I needed to make a copy of a poster I drew, and employees Mimi and Mark could not have treated me better!! They were so kind to me and went above and beyond to make the best copies they could, where other places I tried like Staples charged me extra for their lower quality prints. They were so knowledgeable about the machines and had the idea of scanning it to a usb and then copying the poster, instead of just making a copy, which looked 10x better. Mimi tried both options for me and didn't charge me extra!! Would 10/10 recommend :) read more

Office Depots tend to be my favorite of the big office supply stores. Their selection seems a little better, as do their prices (at least for the things I buy). This location has a different layout from the Office Depots that I used to frequent. It may be a little bigger, but it's hard to tell because it's so different. They have always had everything I needed (including items that I couldn't get at the Staples that it near me). I recently bought some cordless phones here. The kind I wanted were only available locally here and at Best Buy. Office Depot sold them for $10 less. Made me happy :-) read more

Good stuff here and a very nice staff. I was originally going to purchase an office chair online (you know Amazon) however I ended up going here just to browse before committing. I am so glad I did! I found a much better chair than I would have gotten online. I am very happy with my purchases from this location. The staff doesn't harass you every 10 minutes and let's you look around. read more

This is the most convenient location for me to get paper for my projects but every time I go the place has sparse stock and unhelpful service. It's incredibly frustrating when simple questions about where to find stuff can't even be answered. Also, not a good place to look for schools as the options are very limited. read more

Do NOT order furniture for delivery from this place. I ordered a sofa for my office. They sent me an email giving me a delivery date and stating someone needed to be around from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (ALL DAY) for the delivery. So, I waited in my new office without furniture for the entire day. At 4:30, I called and was told the delivery folks tried to make the delivery and the office was closed. That was a lie - and the Office Depot person would not believe that I was there the entire day. Then, the next day - the same experience. Run from this place. read more

One time went there to ship something and spent time ordering on their computer for them to tell me it wouldn't work due to a "glitch in the system." I also order prints and my order said it would be complete in 4 hours. Never got a notification after 4 hours so called the store and they said it would take a whole extra day to get the prints I ordered due to a "glitch" that backed up their system. I guess a "glitch" is their excuse for everything. This store and Office Depot will not get my business anymore. Ridiculous. read more
