THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. I placed a simple black and white print job at 9am with an estimated completion time of 5pm. Not having received an email notifying completion, I called at 6:30pm. Apparently their print guy didn't come in today. There was zero effort made to notify anyone waiting for prints. They said they could do part of the order for me but despite it being posted online they were open until 8pm, they were closing at 7pm. There was no way to make it in time. This is not the first time their print center fell well below expectations but I risked using them again because they are closer than other options. NEVER AGAIN! I wish I could give negative stars. I came to the Office Depot in South Salem to buy supplies in bulk for our local high school supply drive. I asked if they price matched all items (was told yes), spent an hour shopping the store, and filled two baskets with the help of a sniffly coughing clerk. When I arrived at the counter the manager chastised the clerk helping me and said they would not price match the items (save for one of each item in the basket). I explained that this had not been my experience in previous years. The manager was completely rigid about it. I left my basket full of $600+ of purchases and walked out. I will not go back to this location of Office Depot. The customer service from sales associate to manager is lacking in social skills and basic training about sales items. The sales associates were unable to answer questions about ink cartridges (two days in a row), and management appeared bothered by being asked questions. I'd advise taking your business elsewhere. read more

I understand why this Office Depot gets so many negative reviews. The staff need training in basic social skills. They need to learn how to speak to customers and interact with customers. And Sales-101: "Find out what the customer wants and give it to him/her." And yes, as other reviewers have mentioned, they will try to upsell you on services and products you didn't ask for and don't need. read more

I went into Office Depot to buy new ink for my 8600 printer, but the salesman told me I'd be better off buying a new printer, because he claimed it came with full full-sized ink cartridges. I spent 3 hours setting it up, just to get an error message saying the cartridges had been previously used. I called both HP and Office Depot, and it turns out the printer only came with starter-sized cartridges! I went back to the store and the manager basically told me I was out of luck. (I then called Best Buy and found out they had this same printer for $20 less!) I was leaving on vacation the next day, so I decided to accept this case of being hookwinked by Office Depot. They're near my house, and I've shopped at this same store for about 15 years, but I won't be making any more major purchases from them. read more

I took my Acer tablet to Tech department at Office Depot on Liberty Road in Salem, Oregon 97302. I asked them if they could figure out what's wrong with my tablet as it was acting funny. They agreed to wipe my drive at my request and I also asked them to fix my tablet to run normal again. My Kindle app was not working prior taking my tablet in and I felt it had to do with Windows system. They agreed to fix it. I picked it up today and find that they did not fix the problem. My tablet was not able to get updates from Windows. Because I have to take my tablet elsewhere to have it fixed, I asked them for a refund or a half refund. They declined and claimed they worked on it. I took my tablet to a PC shop in Salem. They were shocked with what Office Depot tech people did to my tablet. What Office Depot did was wipe my drive and left my tablet in a pre SP1 state. Now that I lost $49.99 and will have to pay $100 to my local PC shop for my tablet repair. I am not happy with Office Depot Tech department. Unprofessional and failed to do what I asked them to do. They tried to talk out of me to get Microsoft pack for $149.99. I declined because I don't know if my tablet was working correctly. read more

I always come here for school supplies and took my little sister here a few days ago to do her school shopping. And whilst doing so, I also brought in my laptop to see if they were able to replace my hard drive. They were able to and they had such wonderful customer service at the tech support desk. However, their charges for their services were so ridiculous. I was charged $69.99 for the hard drive - separately, $199.99 to replace the hard drive, and $49.99 for them to switch all of my data from my old hard drive, to the new one. I was aware of the charges and had very important things on my laptop, so I went ahead and paid $239.97 for the entire process. I was called the next day that my laptop was finished but they weren't able to transfer all of my data. The employee who helped me said they were closing in ten minutes so I would have to wait until the next day. I picked my laptop up and the employee was able to offer me a review of anything in the process. I asked him to clarify what had happened with the data transfer, and he said their computer was not able to pick up anything from my hard drive and transfer it to the new one. The employee As a result, I'm pretty pissed that I was not given a refund for a service that I paid for, and they couldn't do. I was not given a warning from them of what would happen if they could not provide a service they offered. But I know better now to either find a cheaper place for their service, or just buy the parts I need and figure it out myself. Other than that, this place always has decent customer service and everything I need. I just won't be coming to them when I'm in a laptop crisis. read more

It's Office Depot, so I don't have much to say. I really only shop here for work supplies. The place was remodeled, but it's still hard to find what you're looking for. It was really hard before, but now it's even worse, if you can imagine that. BUT, the staff are REALLY SUPER friendly and go out of their way to help you. It's like they know how screwed up the place is too. The staff really make up for the confusion and high prices. Yeah, I said high prices. But that's just comparing them to Wal Mart, where everything is cheap because they strong arm good American companies into lowering their prices so they can be "the low price leader". Or they buy their crap from Indonesia where the 6 year olds earn .03 a day. Anyway, Office Depot is a much better place to purchase your office supply goods. Plus they always have coupons and awesome clearance sales. read more

This has been my go-to store for a number of reasons: Prices are good, service is EXCELLENT, associates are friendly and knowledgeable. Go ahead, come in and ask anyone where anything is, and they will know. The selection and availability is great. They match prices, returns are no-hassle. In short, they have what I need, when I want it. As opposed to another big box tech store in Salem, they open at 8 AM, which is great if I need something for a client first thing in the morning. I am also posting this review for the Lancaster Drive store, for exactly the same reasons. Depending on what part of town I'm in, Office Depot has Salem covered. read more

We go here because everytime we go to target or Walmart they don't even have PAPER! I must commend them because their shelves are always stocked and someone always asks if we are finding everything. I also am happy they donate funds to whatever school you want. You can find everything here for school or office. Seriously. read more

Very Rude customer service. Difficult to find where things are in the store. When I asked, I was given confusing directions to find what I need. Prices are high. Was not given or offered a bag for my 10 items until I was trying to juggle them out the door. My husband was not offered a bag at all, and was told that they charge for bags. He finally got a one, but the employee was quite rude and unhelpful. Check out time is always longer than it should be. read more

they're really consistent. consistently providing the worst service I've ever experienced in a place of business. like, I'm actually awe-struck every time I come in with how this place is even still in business with such poor service. the employees are inattentive and extremely slow, and don't ever greet customers when they walk in, or even acknowledge them when they've been standing at the pickup counter for far longer than they should have to. (isn't the whole point of ordering online ahead of time that the process should be quicker than doing it all in-store?) We went here to buy a desk. Not one person spoke to us the entire time we were there. We had to go ask someone to help us. When we finally got someone to help us they asked us to go get the model number off the desk and give it to them. We went back a couple days later to look at chairs and not one.single.person said hi or bye to us. They really need to work on their customer service here its very disappointing and we will not be back. read more

They just remodeled the interior -- and I've yet to adjust. Our business frequents this place -- 1-2 times a week. The checkout speed has always been an issue, with usually only 1 cashier available. The staff though has always been friendly and helpful. But if you buy a computer -- like all salespeople -- they bug and bug you to buy insurance/protection/etc....so just say "No!" Overall, a small and easy to navigate store. read more

This is the worst Office Depot I have ever been too. It was Black Friday 2016 and I went in and purchased 2 cases of paper and some batteries for a total of $68 and left the store. The next day (Saturday) I checked my bank account and noticed that I was charged twice for the exact same amount. I called the store and was told by an associate that he was going to put a manager on the phone since he did not know how to help me, a few minutes later the associate came back on the phone and told me that the manager did not wish to speak with me but there is nothing the store can do I would have to call the Corp on Monday and see what the can do for me. One think that was not thought about was word of mouth can damage a company and I work with the public and I will make sure everyone is aware of the treatment you will receive at Office Depot and how you are double charged so please check you accounts carefully. I will now be getting everything from a local company and not a big corporation since this is how you treat your customers. read more

Some of the employees are nice. Some are very slow and unethusatic. My sister payed about $149.00 to take out hard drive and get a new one and put everything on the new hard drive and they said they could not "read" anything. I get it if you can't fix anything if you can't see the problem but at least give people their money back. And it's ridiculous how expensive something can be. Like a big pack of sticky notes for $21 or stickers for $10 EACH. Most of the times it's not satisfying. read more

I go to this Office Depot about 3x a week for shipping for my eBay store. I don't know how I would run my business without them. The manager Sheri tries really hard and is beyond helpful and friendly. Staff, ALL the staff are friendly & helpful. I would have given this store five stars but I have to admit that waits can be long if other customers are there already to ship. The computers at this store are horrible like EVERY Office Depot store. The manager is not at fault for staff's lack of experience. The pay is terrible so staff leave after a period of time for better jobs elsewhere. This is the way it is at ALL Office Depots. I like printing & shipping there. One stop shopping. Everything I need at one place. I must admit though: I buy all my envelopes for shipping at the Dollar store. 3 for a Dollar. Here one envelope can cost $1.49-$2.00. I wish they reduced the price of shipping envelopes then I would do everything there. The staff tries so hard to make it a great experience here. read more

Totally awesome service, bought a product protection plan from then and just when the warranty from Toshiba expired, BAM. laptop died, called the Plan number and they sent me a box and shipped it to their repair center. well long story short, got a new laptop and the associates were awesome in helping me in the shipping process and ill defiantly shop their more often. read more
