While we were enjoying our drinks, we talked with on of the owners, Michelle, who told us her story. She is a great local business woman with an excellent store. She actually remodeling to be able to do even more. We also had a nibble of her macadamia nut spread and macadamia nut butter on some locally made sourdough bread (6/5). It was all so good. A handful of espresso drinks, teas, and a few breakfast options like bagels and warm pastries. Not a huge selection, but everything feels intentional and well made -- quality over quantity. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the whole place has that laid-back Maui vibe where you can sit, sip, and just enjoy the moment. Since it was Sunday, I decided today was the day. I'm not a big coffee connoisseur because of a health condition I have and caffeine can affect me but I do love coffee (even if it doesn't love me) but I'll usually go with a Tea option or Smoothie. I decided on a simple smoothie so I got the Keiki Smoothie with Banana, Strawberry and Apple Juice. I asked the waitress what sandwich is the most popular and she said the Turkey Pesto Melt and boy did that hit! It really was the BEST sandwich. It was on a crispy, flaky...and might I add...buttery croissant with thick slices of turkey, tomato, creamy pesto aioli and melted provolone! It came with some chips and dill pickle on the side. The only downside was the price-it was about $17 so I'm sure I'll treat myself once in a good while to this. My small smoothie was $8 but refreshing nonetheless. I love the vibes inside with hanging plants and art work throughout. There was someone doing remote work or school in the corner with her sleepy golden retriever next to her, a few locals outside and some visitors inside. The workers are friendly and I saw one clean the outside tables right away after a few parties left. A nice spot to hit up for some nice breakfast, lunch and a coffee with a friend.

Local products including meat, eggs, fruit & veg are available, and rather reasonably priced. If you're not a Costco addict, you'll find the prices are equivalent to local grocery stores. We got farm eggs and local steak for less than what would be paid at Safeway or Foodland. Like many local stores, Rodeo offers warm ready to eat foods like spam musubi, breakfast wraps, and plate-lunch style meals at the deli counter. They also offer local and imported ingredients, including for some reason many products from Mexico. I picked up a dark Oaxaca mole here that was incredible. They have bottled Coke from Mexico as well. There's also a large selection of cold drinks, inexpensive and otherwise. A can of flavoured water costs $1, good deal and refreshing. Kombucha is available in bottles and on tap. Add to that a huge alcohol and tobacco selection, and an impressive cigar humidor! There's something for everyone here, and you gotta love the local general store ambiance. It's deceptive from the exterior how large the store is, and one would never expect the variety of products inside. Don't forget to ask the cashier for the answer to the sandwich-board joke of the day, or say hello to the shop kitty!

I got the smoked salmon bagel and my boyfriend got the breakfast sandwich, and we both really enjoyed them! We also split the bubble waffle. We ended up eating it cold, but I'd definitely recommend eating it fresh/hot. The real star of the show was the Maui Melt panini I got when I came back a second time. LOVED IT. Easily my favorite thing I've tried here so far. I also got one of their specialty lattes with cold foam and asked for it less sweet. It was delicious! The barista was also super sweet and friendly. I sat inside at one of the corner tables and there was an outlet right next to me to plug in my laptop, plus WiFi, which was really nice since I wanted to get some work done. They also have outdoor seating if you'd rather enjoy the weather. Cute spot, great food and coffee, friendly service, and a good place to hang out or work for a bit. Definitely coming back!
