This place is pretty great. I do lunch take outs from here all the time. The pizza is always fresh and hot, and their burger specials are awesome (I love the fries). The waitstaff is very friendly. Salads are a bit pricey, but I've heard they are good. And of course, if you're looking for something sweet, their hot beverages are better than Starbucks (taste and price) - and the cookies are humongous. read more

Warning: I am just doing a review of Oggi's "Burger & Fries" I was looking for a place to get a quick lunch at Harvard Sq. since I have to go to work after a doctor's appointment. I went to my usual jaunt at the the Garage since they usually have a lot of selections as far as food choices were concerned. However, much to my dismay, some food joints were gone and whatever was there didn't tempt me at all. Leaving disappointed, I tried to think of my other options and finally decided to try "Oggi's" which I have heard before and highly recommended by a local TV foodie show. Though, this place is more known for its pizzas (which I wasn't really in the mood for at the time), I decided to give this place a try. Presented with too many options, my eye was brought to the menu board which had it's special for the day "Oggi Burger & Fries" for only $5.99 and thinking that I would only grab a quick bite anyways, I decided to order this and then leave. How surprised I was when I got my order and saw that it came in a styrofoam container.... the burger was massive and the fries spilled over the container. But most of all to my delight the burger was to die for...... so yummy with the burger well-done and grilled to perfection as ordered. The dressing or sauce that was on the burger was so heavenly matching the veggies and the meat. I tell you, this burger is comparable to another burger joint that the family loves called "Local Burgers & Fries located all the way in Northampton, MA. I ended up staying and eating my meal and also was in good company talking to 2 people seating beside me who turned out to be related to the owners and also owns a restaurant themselves in the Cambridge area... Now, in my book, anybody who can do burgers right will always be good people because they cook food with their heart and soul even if it's only a burger. read more

Oggi has gotten me through many long days of hard classes and poor dining hall food. Heading south from Harvard Yard to the Charles, I often go out of my way to pass by the Holyoke Center in which Oggi is located. I usually check out the slice of the day, and have been treated with both some amazing slices and some underwhelming flops. As a result of the higher price ($3.45 instead of $2.50) and the risk of not liking the toppings, I usually opt for their tomato basil pizza instead. Here's where Oggi really impresses. You quickly get a slice of pizza which is thin in the middle, but outlined by a fluffy, crispy crust which provides for a great ending. For me, though, it's the first bite of the slice is always the best - that's when you get the most tomato sauce, and it's arguably the best part of the pizza. Oggi's tomato sauce is just absolutely amazing, with an intense tomato and herb flavor that I haven't found anywhere else. Aside from their slices, I really enjoy their daily burger specials. Beware though - most of the non-pizza slice items on the menu take much longer to prepare and are priced much higher. The BBQ Big Dog is also a tasty (if expensive) take on the hot dog. You could probably find a better taste-to-price ratio from the hot dog and sausage guy in the Harvard T-station. read more

Surely, if I was a local, I'd have a more nuanced review, but as a tourist, I was completely pleased with my meal here and am happy to give Oggi 5 stars. I ordered a slice of the tomato basil. Like everyone, I am super impressed with the crust. The slice was a nice even combo of ingredients: not too much sauce, cheese stuck well, and a good thin consistency overall. Then on a whim, I ordered a chai since it was drizzly outside: wow, wow wow. This was one of the best chais I've ever had. At times, you'll taste an overly spiced chai or get one that is drowning in added milk. This one at Oggi was subtle and delicious. I spent $5.68 on a very great meal. Thanks, Oggi! read more

Just left Cambridge and miss Oggi already. Having been a loyal fan from the beginning, I frequently detour through the Holyoke Center on my way to class to see the special slice, soup, and burger of the day. Reasons that I love (and you should too!) Oggis- Veggie burgers with all kinds of interesting slaws, crazy green and purple sauces on their pizzas, cool names for their food, at least two or three muffin and cookie flavors a day (big big fan of the strawberry-corn muffin in particular), the cookbooks you can peruse while waiting for your order, the cheapest iced coffee in the Square, and my favorite slice of tomato basil. And ahh, the Oggi crust, regardless of how thin/thick you like your pizza, the cornmeal dusted basil infused crust is just the best. But really, I eat anything on the menu. Only cautionary note- don't get the $5 pizzas on Mondays and expect usual Oggi greatness. read more

This order is for delivery pizza. We ordered a tomato and basil pizza from Oggi's, and it arrived over an hour later, cold and soggy and in pieces. The dough was not cooked through. The "tomato" was nothing more than tomato sauce. And the add-on sausage we requested was not added. The pizza was somehow the worst pizza I've had in my experience in Cambridge (though I've eaten by-the-slice from the shop and it's been passable). And when we called to request a refund for the sausage we did not receive, in lieu of an apology, we were told that we probably received the wrong pizza because they are sure they put sausage on it. So terrible pizza and likely worse customer service. Next time, we'll go straight to Otto. Worth the walk (no delivery) and it is much, much better pizza. read more

The food is too expensive for students and is not particularly tasty. The fries sit on top of an oven all day and are re-fried to order making them taste soggy and stale. The pizza tasted alright, but made my girlfriend ill after an hour. My rueben was alright, but missed key ingredients that would make the sandwich an actual rueben. Went there with a lady friend who lives in Harvard Square. First, I liked the cashier guy - he laughed at my jokes. And he gave good suggestions, telling us what he liked as well as what most people get and like the most. So he was actually helpful, which is hard to find these days. Trust me, I ask a lot of stupid questions and get a lot of stupid people answering with stupid answers. We had a turkey club and deluxe oggi burger. My lady friend asked for no bacon on the club. Yes, you read correctly. No bacon. She is no longer my friend. Thusly, my review of the club is hindered. But it was fine, though nothing to write home about. Luckily this review doesn't go to my home, so I'm all good. The sauce was good though. My burger was solid, but nothing that special, just a good bacon cheeseburger. The fries were good - mostly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. So it was solid. I would give it a 3.5, but "A-OK" is fair. read more

Is it futile to review a pizza place on a "one to five star" scale? People's ideas about pizza are so varied, a linear scale doesn't capture it. Don't get me wrong. I think the pizza at Oggi is fantastic. They are unafraid to get creative with every aspect of it... the dough, the cheese, the sauce, the topings, etc. Others have adequately described this, so I won't bother chiming in. What I *will* chime in on is anything that comes off the grill. Their burgers are the best. Particularly their turkey burger. The patties are formed with the right dimensions that you get some nice char on the outside, while keeping the optimum amount of juicyness inside. The guys who work the grill know just when to take things off. The (grilled) brioche bun has just the right of sweetness to go with the smoke that comes off the grill. SO good. Gives Bartley's, that venerable institution, a run for its money. read more

I like to get a slice of the tomato and basil pizza whenever I happen to be at Harvard and am in the need for a quick and cheap meal. They have a variety of other offerings in their menu too, but the pizza is my favorite. Solid choice for lunch, and I've been here a handful of times based on its very convenient location. How I went nearly two years without reviewing it escapes me, really. I think of Oggi when I'm having a carb craving. (When that happens, which is often, I think of pizza. Pizza in Harvard Square means Oggi or Otto for me.) I really don't think I've had a bad meal here, and I've been here almost a dozen times. Make sure you check out their chalkboard of specials; there's always something interesting and I think I've ordered something from the chalkboard at least a third of the times I've been here. Seating here is...you get a lot of choices. There tables, a bar-like area, and big armchairs that you just sink into. So take your pick, haha! But my favorites here are hm...everything? Tomato basil pizza is a delicious, simple classic...I've grabbed this to go when I had a short break between classes all too often. I've also had their veggie pizza and the mushroom pizza, both of which I liked. I really like the crust at Oggi; it's thin but still retains some fluffiness. I've never had any of the beverages or burgers here, so I can't comment. Sigh...writing this review makes me want a slice of pizza...lunch tomorrow perhaps? read more

Split a large tomato, basil and garlic pizza (added on feta which they didn't have so we substituted goat cheese which was just as well). Split a Caesar salad and two drinks. Came out to about $25. This seemed kind of a lot for pizza and salad but I got over it because it's Friday and I was feeling like going out. Seating is stupid, with two top tables on the outside with menus and seats at the "bar" on either side of the entrance, but no SERVICE. I definitely don't care that I had to order and then sit down and get the food when called and ask for silverware and plates...but why act like a restaurant with bar seating and the like? Maybe a sign indicating to order at the register? Call me crazy. The food itself was surprisingly good. Sesame seed crust is a nice flourish and the dough tastes exactly like Bertucci rolls (which everyone knows are the only reason you go to Bertucci's). Sauce and toppings are light, flavors co-mingle nicely. Took two slices home and they tasted fine the next day. Salad was kind of a mess to split with gigantic lettuce leaves and minimal dressing. Service was bitchy, but I expect that. They have a huge loose tea assortment and other menu items looked and sounded tempting for another time. They don't really market themselves at all, and I doubt anyone would know about them unless they are passing through from one street to the next..maybe a flier or outdoor sign? Just a thought. All in all I'd go to Oggi again, alone or with someone. Bonus point is the public bathroom right next to Oggi is clean, easily accessed and not scary like the Garage! read more

I hope that they don't go the way their location in JP apparently did (I heard they just closed up). Like the JP location, you have to really know about this place to get to it - not many people walk through this hallway. But if you do, and if they are open, grab a slice. Heck, grab two! It's pretty much like a party in your mouth. and the crust is nice and greasy/flavored so the fun doesn't end until the last bite but the number listed on this page is disconnected. I was visiting Harvard and hungry so I trusted Yelp to take me somewhere good. Oggi was a nice place, reasonably priced with seating. I really liked the cook, he was friendly and innovative when packing up my pizza. I got the pizza with garlic an basil It was a thin crust pizza that was very satisfying, I guess my eyes were bigger than my stomach because I ordered a whole and could only eat half of it. But it definitely got finished when I saw the rest of my family. read more

The pizza here is an interesting mix. It's kind of a gourmet meets NYC style. The crust thin on the bottom, but with a fairly large rim, doughy and tasty. The tomato basil is really awesome and I have high standards. None of this chicago deep dish crap or cracker-like thin crust either. Oggi's is just tasty pizza with cool combinations. This has taken over as my favorite Harvard Square pizza place from Pinocchios. The pizza is better, the service is very friendly, and you can usually find a place to sit. I rate this place five stars for the sheer uniqueness in their pizza! Their crusts are buttered and have sesame seeds on them!? But I give them four stars because of price. When you can get the best slice of pizza eve for 99¢ or get two slices and a drink for $2.50 in NYC, almost nothing else compares! Craziness! I took a bite and the cheese just melted. I've been stalking Oggi since I happened upon the toasted almond and goat cheese pizza in their original JP location. The Broad st location was great because it was close to my work. Once they disappeared from there, I wondered where they'd end up. A great place to warm your tummies with their awesome pizza. We wanted a snack so first ordered their normal pizza by the slice: pepperoni and tomato basil and garlic. We dug the thin crispy crust and sesame sprinkles but we were very much impressed at our second helping of their special of the day: Meatball with baby spinach, sweet onions and mushrooms (sesame sprinkles included). Had a slice of tomato-basil-garlic thin crust. It is clear they use mozzarella cheese of significantly higher quality than other places. But the tomato sauce was dead; no noticeable seasoning. Crust also bland and sort of wet-cardboard-like. So it was kind of like eating a nice fresh mozzarella ball with occasional pairings with fresh basil or garlic, but you also had to eat damp stale crackers with tomato paste from a jar alongside it. The really quality cheese experience was novel enough to get me through the first third, but then the other "qualities" came through, and also I felt a bit sick maybe just with the thought of eating that much pure cheese. Anyway it was way less bad than this review makes it seem, but I still wouldn't recommend it. Maybe the more gourmet (e.g. fancy toppings to drown out the thought of sauce and cheese) / not thin crust pizza is way better. read more

Oggi Pizza and Sandwiches is becoming one of my fave lunch spots in Harvard Square. The quality is excellent! I have tried both the sandwiches and pizza. Its also a great value, and they have a lot of seating, which is key in this area. The seating is indoors, since this is next to Au Bon Pain; inside the Holyoke Center. read more
