Have been eating here for many years. Food is always good, reasonably priced. And consistent. Our big go-to's are the classic chicken teriyaki, chicken curry, and I do the vegetables and rice (their only gluten free option I can eat). Kinda wish they had un-marinated chicken, but I understand the supply and demand aspect. Only thing I will say, is more than once we've requested brown rice and still gotten white. Joy Teriyaki is a fairly good local small chain. I had the Mongolian Beef and an order of Gyoza. Everything was fresh and tasty. It's not going to blow you away but it's a good option if you're looking for fresh teriyaki that's not too crazy in calories. My only complaint is that it's a little expensive for what you get. My Mongolian beef, side order of gyoza and soda was $23. For that amount I could've grabbed a steak somewhere. Overall, not bad and I'd definitely come back just know that although it's more fast food, it's not cheap. read more

This is a great little local joint tucked away near a bank, ballet spot, and various other small service shops. They're efficient, very pleasant and good food at a reasonable price. It's clean inside and they always get my order right. Love their little side salads that come with the Teri chicken. read more

I love Joy Teriyaki for a quick lunch or takeout dinner. Food is very good and pretty much what you'd expect from a teriyaki restaurant. Service is very friendly and place is super clean. The only reason I am giving four stars is that they serve takeout in styrofoam containers and plastic bags. I know many places do and it's common, but I've seen greener alternatives at other places. Newly opened in West Linn and stopped for dinner. They have an extensive menu when compared to other Terikayi outlets similar to this. I was toying between different dishes but settled for their Mongolian Chicken house special and decided on a take-out. There were three or four other patrons all deciding on take out even though I could see plenty of seating - in fact, no one was dining in at the time I swung by. The Mongolian Chicken came with two cups of steamed rice. A nice helping of chicken and various vegetables. The portion size of this dish is generous and the meat is juicy and very flavorful with every bite (not fatty). I don't normally eat Asian food, but when I was immersing myself into Far Eastern culture, I decided to come here for lunch after work. In all honesty, I was not disappointed. The environment was fairly cozy with a nice blend of Eastern ambiance. The service was good and attentive to my needs. The best part, naturally, was the food. I ordered the chicken teriyaki with salad and white rice, all of which were delicious. It was also my first time using chopsticks for a meal, as I didn't want to use cutlery for this dish (but they did have some available). I even ordered some green tea, which was quite refreshing, and I got to refill it for free. My one complaint was that the background music was Western, but at least they kept it at a soft volume. I would definitely recommend Joy Teriyaki for those in the West Linn area looking to have Asian cuisine for lunch. read more

It's our second time coming to Joy Teriyaki and I really wanted to like this place but I give up after the latest visit. The shrimp fried rice was the worst I've ever had. It's basically their steamed rice with some peas and carrots added. Nothing fried rice tasting or looking about it. Also ordered the Kung Pao chicken and it had the consistency of thickly breaded/deep fried sticky orange chicken. Flavor wasn't terrible but it didn't taste like Kung Pao. No spicy aspect to it which I was hoping for. My husband had the curry chicken and he said it was good so he may go back. Maybe their teriyaki dishes are better but definitely not the Chinese food I ordered. I won't be back. read more

I found joy eating Joy Teriyaki. Good beef teriyaki is hard to find. I now know where to find it! The sauce is excellent. The prices aren't bad. I got the chicken beef combo. The chicken was nice and juicy. The cuts of meat for the beef could have been a bit better, but the sauce makes up for it. I also ordered miso soup, potstickers, and a side of stir fried veggies. Usually when you see high reviews, you have an expectation that you're in for a culinary treat. Not here. I would say it's average at best. We were feeling lazy and didn't want to make the drive to our usual yaki spot and decided to check out Joy because of all the great reviews. I wish we would've just went the 10 miles out of our way. The service was nice enough and the good came out quickly but it was just so bland. No amount of sriracha could save it. Now, if that wasn't enough to keep us from returning, my friend and I both ended up severely sick the next day.
