    Korean shot ribs, chicken teriyaki!

Why did I wait so long to try Joy Teriyaki! I've now found my new favorite place. Yes, I did feel Joy after my first bite! The chicken was amazing, all the sauces were delicious. If only they had bubble tea.....

Newly opened in West Linn and stopped for dinner. They have an extensive menu when compared to other Terikayi outlets similar to this. I was toying between different dishes but settled for their Mongolian Chicken house special and decided on a take-out. There were three or four other patrons all deciding on take out even though I could see plenty of seating - in fact, no one was dining in at the time I swung by. The Mongolian Chicken came with two cups of steamed rice. A nice helping of chicken and various vegetables. A bit sweet (what did I expect from a teriyaki joint) for my liking but delicious nonetheless. Will be back since it's conveniently on my way home.

Chicken teriyaki with rice and salad

What you see is what you get! There's nothing fancy here. If you're craving Hawaiian style food then you'll likely be joyful after trying the teriyaki beef or chicken with rice and mac salad. The portion size of this dish is generous and the meat is juicy and very flavorful with every bite (not fatty). I've been to "Best Teriyaki" on Canyon Rd and spent $12 for grisly and bland meat, sloppy sides, and an uncleanly atmosphere. There is a difference! If you're craving teriyaki you really can't go wrong with Joy.

We started off with the Brussels sprouts which were crispy bites of flavor in your mouth. The peppers add a little heat. The sauce has a sweetness to it. Combine all three together and perfection. We ordered four rolls. A traditional spicy tuna. The tuna was not ground up tuna which I have gotten at other many places but beautiful pieces with crispy cucumber to give it more texture and a nice heat but not so overpowering you lose the flavor of the tuna. The bamboo dragon was the least favorite of the table . Too much combined together and not enough flavor all at the same time. The sunset was the prettiest looking one. I felt the heat level took away from the flavor of the fish masking it too much for me. The unicorn which I asked for no cilantro was my favorite of the evening. The combination of the fishes with the seasoning of the oil was wonderful. I didn't even need the soy sauce. I of course tried all with the soy sauce and without to ensure I tasted them all both ways. Service was friendly and we were there towards closing so despite being asked to close out our bill we were told we could sit as long as we liked to talk. Overall very fresh and flavorful.

Came in on weekend for lunch and it was definitely a 40 min wait, but then literally no one on a Tuesday night for dinner. Somehow, the time for the food to come out was about the same. You get a few that come out quick, then a few that took long enough for me to notice it, and then always a few where you wonder if they forgot your dish. Even when there was no one else in the restaurant. The XLB and pot stickers are all super solid, not quite Ding Tai Fung quality, but at these prices and wait times they are great. Qbao's are delicious. I think the noodles are honestly slept on. They all have great flavor, super bouncy noodles, and honestly come in a size that you can easily finish on your own or still big enough to split in case you wanted to try another flavor. I also think the pork wonton's with chili sauce are also super slept on, the sauce is oddly sweet, but honestly I love that. Service here can be hit or miss. They don't really do a each table gets a specific server system, at least that hasn't been my experience. You'll get some food runners, and you can usually just flag anyone down to get what you need. But it does mean things can slip through the cracks if you don't have one person keeping an eye on the list of food ordered for the table or you have multiple servers checking in on you to see if you got all your food even though you just told the server 3 min ago you were still missing something. All in all, this place is phenomenal and approachable. I will be back, maybe not on the weekends though, it's not quite worth all that.

The pieces are fairly substantial, juicy & ultra-flavorful. We had a mix of spicy and soy & garlic. Space was a little tight for eating but cold water was provided. Service was typical counter-serve. Upon first bite you'll realize how different it is from traditional fried chicken, and now it is the flagship for most people's first foray into KFC ( Korean Fried Chicken). The location in Clackamas Town Center is of no exception, and their quality and speed are still up to par. It's a great casual place to have some fried chicken and snacks ( or even heavier meals) with the family or friends. Their service is like any other chain, don't expect anything stellar, but there are no complaints either. The food is consistent, fresh, hot, crunchy, and plenty of flavor no matter what you get. I recommend trying their original flavors the Spicy and Soy Garlic wings on your first venture, but if you're familiar already then dive into their more expansive menu! I haven't had a miss yet, though their specialty is definitely their wings. The rest of their menu doesn't miss, but they aren't top tier compared to dedicated Korean restaurants. I find this to be more satisfying than anything in the Clackamas food courts, so I recommend anyone who hasn't tried Bonchon to give a look!
