Had a delicious sushi dinner at Bamboo Sushi. So nice to be able to sit outside and enjoy a good meal. We started off with the Brussels sprouts which were crispy bites of flavor in your mouth. The peppers add a little heat. The sauce has a sweetness to it. Combine all three together and perfection. We ordered four rolls. A traditional spicy tuna. The tuna was not ground up tuna which I have gotten at other many places but beautiful pieces with crispy cucumber to give it more texture and a nice heat but not so overpowering you lose the flavor of the tuna. The bamboo dragon was the least favorite of the table . Too much combined together and not enough flavor all at the same time. The sunset was the prettiest looking one. I felt the heat level took away from the flavor of the fish masking it too much for me. The unicorn which I asked for no cilantro was my favorite of the evening. The combination of the fishes with the seasoning of the oil was wonderful. I didn't even need the soy sauce. I of course tried all with the soy sauce and without to ensure I tasted them all both ways. My first time here and I have never been a sushi fan until now. The green machines with crab and albacore were phenominal, I couldn't stop eating them. You get a huge amount of edamame and my nephew devoured them, they are delicious. The brussel sprouts were some of the best I have had in a long time. They do a very steady business, but it's worth the wait if you don't have a rez. Bamboo is a mid-sized place with nice tables and a great sushi bar you can sit at if that's your thing. It's snugly placed in the middle of downtown Lake O with street parking and easy access from the parking garage. I have always had great service here, and I do admire the dedication to sustainability and the ethical sourcing of the food they serve. Try the crispy rice plates - they are not to be missed! I've always thought that Bamboo Sushi was a decent sushi spot to go to when in doubt so, when I got to Lake Oswego and the restaurant I was planning to go to was closed, I stopped by here. Fortunately, Bamboo was still open so my friend and I dropped by. After getting seated at the bar, we ordered a couple menu items. Staff was super kind but for some reason, when we visited 3 things were dropped at different times and broke behind the bar (which made me question the service quality?). The food came out not too long after. The edamame and the handroll was alright, and I really enjoyed the nigiri. The fish were all pretty good but I've had better experiences at the location on 23rd. This was the best meal far I have had at Bamboo. When I saw the seasonal items it had to be a must try before they are gone. Was I right? I was right!!!! The items ordered from the seasonal menu were: Tuna Crudo, Island Hopper Roll and the summer cocktail. We made a reservation and were seated immediately. Our server was attentive and remembered a dish that was slow coming out of the kitchen. Actually, most of the rolls were very slow to come out, not sure why. But when they did, we pretty much inhaled them, they were that good. We started with their new hamachi sizzle, which was quite spicy, and an order of gomae (spinach with sesame), which I loved. Gotta get my greens in.
