The you can order from the menu board or they will take your order if you're seated. I ended up ordering the crab Rangoon which was very unique with a ton of crab and cheese present and lightly fried casing. The spicy dumplings were really good with pork and mushrooms and a nice sweet and spicy sauce to accompany them. The star of the show was the sweet and spicy garlic chicken - nice and crispy with an excellent sauce. The Mac salad is reminiscent of my time in Hawaii so they get two thumbs way up to that. My son is eager to get his pilots license. The Ohio State University has a has an exceptional program managed by the University. So before we looked at their facilities, I took my daughter and son to Ohana Island Grill. I am always looking for something different. How about Hawaiian Cuisine? Why certainly. Expecting palm trees, a Aloha greeting and other decor reflecting the Hawaiian Island atmosphere, well not here. This was a stripped down version of the Hawaiian Islands vibe I remember visiting. Ok, not so much but how about the service. Let us just say uninspired. The bright spot here is the food and drinks. I ordered three Hawaiian Sun drinks ($2.50 each). The orange/pineapple flavor came through so I'll say it was a homerun. The star was the food. The BBQ short ribs ($16.99 ) was delicious, as were the Gyoza (6 for $7.99), Chicken Katsu ($12,99) fabulous, and Crab Rangoon (6 for ($7.99) was wonderful. Unfortunately, the BBQ plate was nothing to write home about. Salty overall and heavy taste of just soy sauce and sugar. The beef felt like scrap pieces, the chicken was okay, and the short ribs were decent in texture. Service: 5/5 - quick and straight forward service. Don't expect Amercian hospitality but she got the job done. Much more friendly to guests who speak Chinese. Ambiance: 3/5 - there was a soft Hawaiian music playing in the background almost completely drowned out by the humming from the refrigerator or AC. The humming did stop but started again. You order at the counter, and everything is brought to you in to go containers. We started with lumpia it was okay. I got the BBQ mixed plate, and my husband got the chicken katsu. He loved his plate that came with a massive pile of fried chicken, two small scoops of white rice, and 1 small scoop of savory macaroni salad. The macaroni was served warm. My bbq mix came with 1 short rib, 2 chicken thighs, and 3 small pieces of beef teriyaki. I liked the teriyaki. The chicken was tough, and the short rib was sliced was very thin. It didn't really taste like much. Most had a heavy soy flavor with little other nuance of flavor. My husband loved it and got tofu fried rice togo. Overall it was ok. Yet another Hawaiian place in Columbus. I think we have half a dozen now. Went with a friend; we each got the barbecue meat sampler. Short ribs, barbecued chicken, grilled pork, and teriyaki beef. All pretty good. Served some perfect rice and excellent macaroni salad. I also got a side of lumpia, which were amazing. And Spam musubi, which was one of the best I've had- although I've only had them from about three places. Plus, they gave us a sample of kara-age, which was very good. Stopped by to pickup dinner to take home, but I will say that the inside looks nicer than the outside of this small strip mall restaurant suggests. My wife went with the Pork and Cabbage while I ordered the Loco Moto. We were both upsold to the "regular" size versions of the entrees from the "minis" by the nice lady behind the counter... and we were good with it. Both entrees provided enough food to be full without yielding leftovers. Taste-wise, the gravy *made* the Loco Moto. It saturated the beef patties and the rice underneath, which is a very good thing because the eggs and rice don't add much in the flavor department. The macaroni salad that comes with the dishes is a notable upgrade to the rice, but it's unfortunate that you only get one scoop. The Pork and Cabbage dish had a pleasant flavor, but it could have used some gravy/jus/marinade to moisturize the dish. There's a lot more to explore on the menu. We ordered carryout and enjoyed everything we tried. How can you not love a place that gives two carb options (double Mac and one rice or all rice). Lots of flavor and the fried stuff was crunchy after the drive home and a good amount of time after. Musubi was the right amount of sauce:rice:spam or kastu ratio. The pork on the loaded fries was seasoned way more than I would have guessed. Will try the kalua pork with cabbage next time. I was really excited to try this place, and I'm glad I did. The menu is full of new and familiar dishes I couldn't wait to try. The service is so nice! Like family! There is a water and condiment station that I saw in other poster's pics, so eating in we didn't know if we just got those ourselves. Nope. They'll bring you everything you need or ask for. We started with the lumpia and loaded kahlua pork fries, and if we ate nothing else we could have left happy. The lumpia was perfect and clearly cooked to order. And idk what that gravy was made of but I'd take it on anything. I ordered the bbq beef short ribs and husband got the pineal fried rice with tofu. I was VERY happy with the short ribs. Cut thin (think rib tips, or the ribs at a Korean BBQ spot), marinated in soy sauce, and that BBQ sauce! Again, I expected sweet and got savory deliciousness. Husband said I ate like a maniac. I'm ok with that. The ribs came with macaroni salad and that was a creamy break from the beef. I poured the rest of my sauce over the rice and bed of shredded cabbage and ate every bite. Husband would have the pineapple fried rice again, and try it with chicken next time. He said it's wasn't as special as he was expecting, but he liked it. We took home an order of malasadas (donuts) for the kid and they were so fresh when we left Dublin, they were still piping hot when we got to Worthington. I was craving for the rice plate, so will have to try that next time. If it is your first time trying out Hawaiian BBQ, definitely recommend to get the combination plate. So that you can try different meat at once. I got the BBQ Mix Combo, which come with Teriyaki Beef, BBQ chicken and BBQ short ribs. Along with some rice and macaroni salad. Also, consider pair the meal with some Musubi. All the food is packed in a to go box. The meats are pile up and sit on top of some shredded cabbage. I had the Loco Moco which I've never had before, I've only seen it on Food Network so I'm not sure how authentic it was. It was good although my egg was a bit over done for my liking. This is such a great restaurant. The food literally brought me back to my last vacation in Hawaii. We stumbled upon this restaurant a few weeks ago when we were shopping at Diana's Deli who is the neighbors to this restaurant. My husband wanted to give it a try. So I decided to finally order it online yesterday after seeing another Yelper eating there. Enough to get me to find something for everyone on the menu. My husband loved his kalua pork. Prefers to get it with the cabbage next time but said it was enough food to feed 2 people. I ordered the teriyaki beef and was reminded of one of the restaurants we ordered off the beach in Honolulu with this same dish. Not to mention I think they have to import those Hawaiian Sun drinks since you can't find them locally. My daughter got the teriyaki beef sandwich but preferred her dad's kalua pork to it. My friends love this place! They've been a few times so we decided to stop by so I could try it. Since they just opened, it was a bit slow to get our food that evening. Tons of people dining in and waiting for take out orders. My friends said they're usually much quicker. I got the mixed meat plate and chose teriyaki beef and fried fish. All the plates come with rice and Mac and cheese. So good! Flavorful and not greasy at all. I also got lumpia to try. Not my favorite, but my friends loved it. It had a bit more black pepper than I needed. My friends got the chicken katsu with curry and the BBQ plate, which came with 3 kinds of meats. They loved their food too! I grew up, loving Filipino, Korean, and Hawaiian flavors so when I saw there was a place not too far off of Sawmill, I had to check it out. I visited Hawaii back in 2016 and honestly I didn't expect to get the same flavors here as you would there. I was pleasantly surprised! I got the barbecue mix platter, which came with teriyaki beef, barbecue chicken, and grilled spareribs, along side of two scoops of white rice and macaroni salad. Pretty traditional. The spareribs had an amazing grilled flavor throughout the meat and was marinated perfect. You can only get a little bit the meat off of the spareribs before hitting gristle, which is very very tough, but I thoroughly enjoyed it, and the portions were large. Next up was the chicken. Again perfectly marinated, find meat, generous portions, and grill perfectly. I really really enjoyed yes! Underneath of the chicken was the teriyaki beef also had flavors from the big island. They give you a small cup of teriyaki sauce to pour over your white rice and dip your meat in. Macaroni salad was super creamy. In my opinion perfect. I love a good spam masubi, and finally found one in Columbus that is what I am looking for. Their rice to spam ratio is decent and they actually have sauce on the masubi. Other places put too much rice and a thin strip of spam, not Ohana. I got an order to go for lunch time to take back to the office. Wanted to try something new today and Postmates tickled my inbox, so I swiped my way to Ohana Island Grill - a Hawaiian bbq place that took over Asian Fusion's old space on W Dublin Granville. First up, Spam Musubi. Giant Japanese sushi-like handhelds, about 5oz each. The saltiness of the generous slab of seared spam paired well with the rice/nori and included an amazing sauce (Katsu?) overflowing with umami flavor. Reason I wanted to go here is as to try the BBQ Short Ribs. Got three slabs a la carte. They arrived on a bed of cabbage shreds and the sauce and prep were extremely similar to Korean galbi. They did not disappoint. Main dish was Pineapple Chicken. Bite-sized battered chicken and pineapple chunks in a velvety sweet glaze. Very close again to Korean style sweet and sour dishes, but not like the syrupy thick red sugar sauce used in Americanized Cantonese style preps. Served with scoops of steamed rice and a macaroni type salad. I wasn't prepared at all for the enormous portion sizes - this place doesn't mess around, everything was absolutely immense. Not sure about what that was referring to in Hawaii, but most of the menu items were more Asian food. My wife got the grilled chicken with rice and potato salad. The food is good but be careful if you assume it will be a chicken breast, it isn't. It is dark meat, I assume a thigh. I just got takeout here. It was alright. I got the bbq combo with chicken, beef, and other beef. I also subsituted the macaroni salad with rice since i am lactose intolerant. This is located in a small strip near sawmill. It would be easy to miss, but I happened to be in the area shopping with my family and noticed it. We were hungry and wanted something quick. You order at the counter and they bring the food out to you. I did notice that the menu had mostly diner foods like you would find at L&L in Hawaii. If you're vegetarian, or have dietary restrictions, this probably wouldn't be the best option. However, if you're looking for generous portion, sizes of hardy and tasty food, this is your place. The price point is low, considering the amount of food you get. Establishment is also very clean and organized. The owners were friendly and told us the story of how they started. Apparently the chef did work for L&L in Hawaii for years before coming to Ohio. They currently have plans to start a food truck too so start looking out for them at local events around town.
