    50. Loco Moco with Egg
    Sandy W.

Definitely not a place to eat inside. No bathroom available for customers! I thought the crab Rangoon was very good but disappointed in our main dish, Moco Loco was nothing like the one in Hawaii! Guess having a slice of spam which wasn't included did make a difference!!

This place looks so shady It is, however, entirely worth the trip. The food was delicious - I didn't love the crab Rangoon because there was too much cream cheese and not enough dough, but YMMV, but the mixed grill plate was superb and lasted for like three meals at a decent price. And online ordering is easy and the food was ready right on time.

I've only tried them through Grubhub & was very impressed with their packaging of all items. The bubble tea came in this great cup with a punch card & in its own bag. I would not get it again though. The boba is hard. I'll stick to a boba place for this. The side of bbq chicken was generous. It was tender & juicy. Super impressed & appreciate being able to try more proteins in a smaller portion. Well priced as well! The musubis were huge! More rice an anything but they were soft & flavorful. Nice soy based sauce with it. The Gravy Fries were ordered with the gravy on the side just incase they don't already package them like that. The fries are basic, most likely frozen fries but the gravy is flavorful with a tiny kick to it!. In all, I would definitely order from here again and there's much more on the menu I want to try!

Used to be Thai 2 Go and replaced into #1 Hawaiian BBQ. Personally, I am not quite familiar with Hawaiian food and get excited to explore. The store is tidy and small, however, able to fit a couple table for dine in. The menu have a variety of appetizers, Musubi, combo plate, and more... If you get the combo plate, you can select with mini or regular size. It also come with a side of macaroni salad and rice. I got the BBQ Mix combo plate, which have BBQ beef, short rib and chicken. I love the chicken they most as it is super juicy and tender. The beef and short rib is slightly dry. The side of macaroni salad is also my favorite as well. I also try Musubi for the first time. I do like this combination of spam, seaweed and rice, along with the sauce which is slightly sweet.

Excellent food! Everything was so tasty! I did not grow up in Hawaii, but I did grow up eating spam, so that was nostalgic. I ordered the bbq bento specifically because I saw the spam on there with a variety of other meats. The we ordered a spam musubi, too, for an authentic Hawaiian experience. The bbq beef and chicken were both tender and tasty. The fried mahi mahi fish was perfect with the tartar sauce. I also tried a bite of my husband's order: the loco moco with egg. A bed of rice, hamburger, gravy, with fried egg on top. Sounds odd, actually IS kind of odd, but also an oddly satisfying combination. Each meal comes with a macaroni salad and a sweet soy sauce for your rice. And what a nice surprise to find out that Friday through Sunday each meal comes with a sugar donut. A nice touch. Also, these meals are big. Tons of rice, and a great portion of meat. We both had leftovers.

#1 Hawaiian Barbecue is by far my favorite place to eat. Since my last review the food has gotten even better and the portions got bigger even though the prices went up a little. But definitely worth every penny. The food is always ready quickly and the service is kind. Overall, you should try it out if you haven't. I promise you'll want to come back.

Small hole-in-the-wall place. The service was fast and friendly. The food was great, too! Everything we tasted was 5/5. The food was very affordable with large servings. I'll definitely go back!

I was born and raised in Hawaii, but unfortunately, I moved to Ohio a few years ago. One of the items I've missed most about home is the food. So I could literally not contain my excitement when I heard about this place opening up. The menu is very much like an L&L Hawaiian Barbeque, which is super awesome! We ordered the chicken katsu plate regular size, which was served like I'm used to with two scoops of rice and one scoop of mac salad. I was so stoked to see that they served the same katsu sauce as the L&L I frequented back home! We also ordered the curry katsu plate regular size, which my boyfriend said "smacked." Additionally, we ordered the loco moco plate and some spam musubis. All in all, the food was very nostalgic of the plate lunches in Hawaii. So stoked to finally have a place like this to frequent in Ohio!

    30. Hawaiian Mochiko Chicken Plate
    Adri C.

I was so excited to try Hawaiian Barbecue, but sadly it was pretty disappointing :( We ordered the BBQ Beef plate and Mochiko Chicken, never having either. We loved the taste -- it's sweet and soft, like Filipino grilled meats -- but it was sooo so salty. The sauce it comes with is sweet and salty, complementing the flavors but impossible to eat it with because it was already so salty. As a Filipino I love rice and salt, but I had to eat a 5:1 rice to meat ratio, which I did not love. We saved over half of it for leftovers because of the unbearable salt. The macaroni salad was also not very impressive; very bland and greasy. At least it wasn't salty though. I trust the reviews and reputation of this place and would love to support a Hawaiian business, so I do plan to try again and hopefully post a more positive updated review. I'm hoping we just caught them on an off day.

    Rebecca H.

Family style to go and it arrived warm and well packed. Bonus...silverware and sauces included. We love Hawaiian food so this was a great find. It was good, not the best I've ever had. But, having lived on an island in the pacific I know I'm kind of picky on this one.

This is definitely going to be one of my go-to restaurants from now on. The prices are so reasonable and them food....10/10 soo good! It's a little hole in the wall in a little strip. The service was great, and the food was ready in under 10 minutes. The only thing that's frustrating is the place only has 2 parking spots allocated for the location. Other than that, there are zero complaints. I'm already planning my next trip!

#41. BBQ Mix Combo Plate #44. Half and Half Combo Plate Mac salad & Ginger Soy Dipping Sauce
    Trisha H.

This little shop was the perfect stop after a tough doctors appointment. It gave me a little taste of home with its delicious yet simple Mac salad (with tuna!) and plate lunches. For $13-15, you get a lot of food! The #41 BBQ Mix Plate contained two pieces of bbq chicken, two strips of beef short ribs (kalbi), strips of bbq beef, and lots of rice on a bed of cabbage. The ginger soy dipping sauce was really good - they should marinate the bbq chicken in it! The short ribs were fatty but had a really great flavor and the meat was really tender. That's tough to find especially for the cost. The bbq meat was good as well - pretty typical teriyaki marinade that could use more garlic and green onions to make it taste like authentic Hawaiian bbq. But overall this place is really good if you're wanting a Hawaiian BBQ plate lunch! The seating area is very small - maybe 10 people max - but the customer service was really nice and they offered us more sauce and Mac salad. They have a small selection of canned/bottled drinks but no complimentary water. The employee did tell me that they decided to purchase the location so they'll be open 7 days a week soon!

Baking macarons is a tricky thing and Damaris did such a good job breaking down all the steps. She gave us lots of tips and tricks for our home baking, and you can see her passion for what she does. That said, I have been to several of the cooking schools in Columbus and this was my least favorite overall attendee experience. It was more expensive, yet very "basic" for lack of a better word. All of the cooking classes I have attended come with some kind of amenities - a welcome cocktail, wine bar, cheese and crackers, hot coffee/tea, etc. Something. This class was three hours long and there was nothing offered but water and iced tea (on a 20 degree day). We also did not receive any kind of information prior to the class, so parking was like solving a mystery (hint: the parking lot is behind the house down a side alleyway)

So first off I want to say I am glad my husband purchased me this gift. In theory cooking with tea…read moresounded like the coolest thing ever and it was a very thoughtful gift, but the actual experience was a bit lackluster. The Seasoned Farmhouse is a beautiful space, but the cooking class was just okay. I unfortunately didn't learn any new skills and the main reason for this review being so low is because my husband and I got food poisoning at the event. I felt sick as soon as I ate the food and didn't feel better until 24 hours later. I have lots of thoughts on why this happened, that I will explain later. Class + Recipes: The recipes we tried were good. It was a class all about learning how to cook with tea. We made Shaoxing Wine Tea-Poached Chicken with Scallion Oil, Sweet Tea-Brined Roast Chicken, Salad Greens with Golden Raisin Vinaigrette, Tea-Poached Eggs, Black Tea Poppy Seed Muffins, Earl Grey Tea Cake with Chopped Chocolate and Tea-Infused Cream Cheese Frosting and Roasted Yukon Potato Wedges with Aioli Sauce. The food tasted good and I appreciated the amount of thought that Chef Cindy Ramsey put into creating them. However, I was severely disappointed with the set-up of the class. I've been to 6 cooking classes at other locations and always was assigned to a specific station where each participant would make each dish and learn new cooking skills. This class was set-up where we were given a 20 minute lecture and then told to wash our hands and disperse to focus on different aspects of the meal. For instance I mixed the aioli sauce, iced the cake and teared lettuce leaves. Though we were told to wash our hands, we didn't wear gloves and this is what I believe caused my husband and I to get sick. Cons: Lack of cleanliness. During the demonstrations sometimes the chef would touch raw ingredients like eggs and chicken and would then touch other ingredients that would not be cooked. This leads to cross contamination and should have been avoided on the chefs behalf. In addition, because 10 different people peeled eggs, and various people touched ingredient components that would not be cooked I believe this also may be the cause of getting sick. As a science nerd let me share that we all have a different skin microbiome. Sometimes people carry more of one bacteria on their skin than others. Also depending on the length and cleanliness of finger nails, this also could cause unwanted bacteria on food that was prepared without being cooked. If these bacteria get into the ingredients, some people can get ill from them. Net: PLEASE HAVE ALL PARTICIPANTS WEAR GLOVES WHEN PREPARING FOOD, ESPECIALLY ITEMS THAT WILL NOT BE COOKED. I feel like the price of the class was not cheap and hopefully could cover the cost of gloves in the future. Based on this experience, I would not come here again and do not recommend it to someone who is looking for a more traditional style cooking class.

The quality of food and service has really dropped. Went there for an annual and traditional holiday lunch with a friend--we've been doing this at least 30 years. I checked the menu online before I went so I could decide. A lunch menu was online. When my friend and I were seated, my friend commented that the prices had greatly increased. It was the dinner menu. When I asked our server whether they had discontinued the lunch menu I saw online--he said 'they must have forgotten to give it to us.' He returned with the lunch menu. I ordered the tilapia bianca. It was awful. The shrimp was steamed/broiled but the tilapia was fried. Who puts a buerre blanc sauce over fried fish and pasta? The pasta was lumped together under a third of the plate instead of under all of the food. I ate half, and boxed half because I didn't want my friend to think I was ungrateful, and threw the rest away when I got home. This was on a Friday at lunch time. Unlike when it was a Mitchell's restaurant and full on Fridays--there could not have been more than 8 other diners. I noticed that the host was still seating people with dinner menus. Due to a mix up a week earlier, I was unable to meet my friend and he stayed and ate. He told me they gave him the dinner menu that day too. I don't think they 'forget.' I think that business is slow because the quality of the food has declined, and so they make up the difference in the lunch sales drop off by hoping people won't notice that they've not been offered the lunch menu. I am unlikely to return.

Pretty loud and hard to hear, but that vibe is OK for a boil place to me. Only waited about 15 minutes. Two adults, two elementary kids. I like Lees of all the boil places because they have good options for non seafood people too. Both kids found wings, chicken fettuccini, etc. Started with the hushpuppies, about 12 smallish sized but a perfect starter for 4 people. Came with ketchup, I wish they would do a remoulade option. My wife and I split the duo (snow crab, shrimp) and I decided to add a LB of blue crab. Medium homemade juice sauce (always....it's sooo damn good). Snow crab was really good this time, snappy not bendy like some places. knuckles sweet and not overly briny. Perfectly cooked and came apart and out easily. Shrimp were just a tad overcooked but not much. Potatoes were perfect. We sub +1 tater for the egg. Corn is never good at these places. :) gotta do those fresh not frozen to get it right. The blue crab had good flavor. However, crazy overcooked which made getting meat out damn near impossible. Stringy instead of in chunks and stuck totally to the shell. I mostly gave up. My biggest complaint is they have ZERO typical utensils. No crackers/pickers/hammers/etc. I managed to cut myself trying to get into a snow crab large claw, and the lack of pickers made the blue crab impossible to eat. Tiny, carryout only, though there are a couple of tables to sit while you wait or maybe to eat a quick lunch. Super friendly staff. Fairly short menu; all the good stuff. I wasn't famished and didn't want to wait for chicken or fish, so I got an assortment of sides thinking that would be quicker. They fried up the okra right then, though, and had a steady stream of pickup orders coming through the door, so it still took 10-15 minutes. It was okay, though, smelling the amazing scents coming from the kitchen, talking to the staff and customers. I hadn't noticed they have ribs (just a picture, not on the menu) so I might've ordered those. Oh well. $20 I think, or they do combos with sides or fish and sides. Anyway. I got fried okra, and it was a big portion and absolutely amazing. No need for any sauces, tasty on its own. Perfectly crisp. Baked beans: my style, sauce so thick you can eat them with a fork. Slightly sweet, mostly savory, very good. Greens (collards) with turkey: outstanding. Tender but not floppy, nicely seasoned. Cornbread: soft, sweet, crumbly, topped with butter. Yum. Geechee rice: seasoned, bacon and sausage, very good. And black-eyed pea salad. I like black-eyed peas but had never had them in a salad. These were great: plump, with bits of tomato and cucumber and onion, in a vinegary dressing. Again, yum. Enough food for two meals. They gave me the side plate special, three sides and cornbread, which helped with the price. I was headed home and not thirsty so I didn't get a drink, but based on conversations with other customers I missed out on the lemonade and sweet tea. I'll be back for those and maybe a rib-fish combo. And to try the mac. Get here if you can!

We had an older person in our party and when we asked our server to come to the other side of the table so he could hear her, she didn't-so she ended up misunderstanding and bringing him the wrong drink. There was a guy who we *think* may have been a manager hanging around, but he never did a table touch, so hard to tell. We had questions because gluten free food is offered but not marked on the menu or online, it said ask your server. She was annoyed but we have allergies so...I will say they have really good gluten free options; however when we reconfirmed that she had gotten the gluten free bun she was annoyed again. The only reason I gave 2 stars (the one redeeming quality) was the food. It was all excellent and cooked perfectly. The server didn't come back to check how things tasted-but someone in our party flagged her down to get lemon wedges for her seafood pasta. The waitress literally rolled her eyes, grabbed lemons wedges from the bar and brought them in a cup that she slammed down and walked away without a word. We ordered dessert because we were there to celebrate a birthday. Before dessert came, our server cashed us all out. This is what put me over the edge: WHILE WE WERE STILL EATING she slammed down a reserved sign. When we started standing up, she picked it up. Most restaurants allow for 90 minutes for reservations to turn a table. We were only at the table for 70, so we totally weren't lingering. I might give this place another try because the food was so good, but because of this experience, I'd definitely think twice.
