For breakfast, we ordered two Mushroom Frittatas, a Fresh Buttermilk Biscuit, and a side of Housemade Breakfast Sausage. The Mushroom Frittata featured three hearth-baked eggs with roasted mushrooms, sweet onions, and Gruyère cheese, served alongside breakfast potatoes and a peppery arugula salad. It was flavorful, hearty, and incredibly satisfying. Although I informed the staff about my peanut allergy, I was surprised to find the crispy breakfast potatoes on my plate, which left me uncertain whether the allergy request had been fully communicated to the kitchen. The Fresh Buttermilk Biscuit, served with strawberry preserves, was one of the highlights of the meal. It was flaky, buttery, and wonderfully moist, pairing perfectly with the sweet preserves. The Housemade Breakfast Sausage consisted of two peppery pork patties that were juicy and well-seasoned, making a great accompaniment to the rest of the meal. Overall, we enjoyed a delicious and filling breakfast with fresh, high-quality ingredients. While I wish the coffee station had been monitored more closely and that greater care had been taken regarding my food allergy, the Mushroom Frittata and fresh biscuit alone make Northstar Café worth returning to.

The lack of customer care, patience, and professionalism I encountered from the Manager on Duty was entirely unacceptable, and doesn't deserve even a half star, but I had to choose one. On Father's Day, my family ordered five bowls, two of which were seasonal bowls made with the original ingredients with the exception of extra lime. One of these bowls was specifically meant for my husband, who is currently in the hospital. I had raved to him about your restaurant, as it was one of the few healthy options he could safely enjoy during his stay. Unfortunately, the meal was prepared with a blatant lack of care. Even after it was made clear that this was a special meal for him, his portion size was equivalent to a half-bowl, and it was entirely missing the onions and tomatoes. Seeking to resolve the issue, I called the restaurant and was placed on hold. When the phone was picked up, the staff member did not offer a greeting, a name, or any indication of who was speaking. I politely stated, "Hi, I was holding for the manager," to which she abruptly replied, "This is." When I asked for her name, her response was unclear and unkind. Despite maintaining a calm and respectful tone while explaining that my husband's hospital meal for Father's Day had been made incorrectly, the manager was immediately combative and argumentative for absolutely no reason. Instead of offering a basic level of customer service or empathy, I was met with disrespect. Your company's mission proudly states: *"We strive to empower people through radical accessibility to natural food."* Unfortunately, the radical lack of care and professionalism I experienced completely contradicts that standard. Because of this deeply disappointing experience, I will no longer be a patron of your establishment. Furthermore, I will not be recommending Roots Natural Kitchen to anyone moving forward, including for any future corporate or community events I coordinate. As someone who works long hours and is trying to prioritize health and fitness, CleanEatz has given me back HOURS of my life. The new menus come out every Tuesday morning. There are at least 5 meals to choose from, plus multiple extras. The more meals you buy, the less they cost per meal. Go online to their website, pick your location, and order your meals for pick up on Sunday or Monday. If you decide to order extra protein, the pick up day is Tuesday. The meals are portion controlled and the perfect amount of food. They are all done after 2 min in the microwave. Macros are detailed on the website for each option. I buy 15 meals each week. I have lunch and dinner for myself, and my husband works from home so only gets a meal for dinner. This. Is. A. Game. Changer!!! Pro tip: if you are a first time ordered, pre order online, choose "pay in store". Go to the store on your pick up date and tell them it's your first order for a 50% off coupon for 10 meals!

So I went with the lunch special and the roasted garlic pizza. Everything was SO GOOD and came out pretty quickly. The pizza was a nice size and I was able to take a few slices home to enjoy later. While there isn't a location super close to me, I definitely won't be sleeping on them again.
