My homie and I ate here the other day and the service is really awesome! They have bento box meal that comes with two or three choices and she and I got it and we were definitely surprised by how much food we got! We expected to just get a small serving for each choice of the bento box(some of the choices include: salmon teriyaki, beef teriyaki, chicken teriyaki, bulgogi, mixed tempera, chicken katsu) but instead of we got a very generous serving of each. I choose mixed tempera, chicken teriyaki, and bulgogi and got essentially a nice plateful of each! She got the salmon teryaki and mixed tempera. It comes with a plate of salad and a bowl of miso soup, too. We also got a sushi roll. The environment is nice, clean, and appealing! You could do all you can eat or get it by the roll, who doesn't love all you can eat. I've tried several different rolls and I have yet to be disappointed. Some other places we've tried have been good but inconsistent with their rolls in terms of sauce; I haven't had that issue here. They'd be perfect, except for like twice that I went and had terrible service. I would assume the server was just overwhelmed or having a bad day, which is understandable. The food is usually pretty great. But don't go here expecting any kind of good customer service. I have a bad experience almost every time I go. I've just started ordering food to-go, and even that they make a poor experience. They're not friendly and they don't greet you. Their AYCE menu is trash, yes they have a variety of options, but they don't include everything thats shown on their sushi menu...which they should label as to not cause any confusion. The two rolls I really wanted to try was not a part of it and I figured, pay $26 for two rolls or $28 for AYCE...and decided to make the mistake of getting AYCE. The rolls I ended up getting didn't even have everything that was listed in the description, they thought I wouldn't notice but I did and I couldn't even say anything to get it fixed, which brings me to my next complaint! I sat at the sushi bar and the chefs weren't entertaining or friendly at all. I made the mistake of sitting at the sushi bar, the servers completely ignore you because it IS the chefs job...but they aren't friendly at all and ignored me most of the time. I had to flag servers down each time I needed something because they don't even look at the sushi bar unless they're picking up plates. Great place! The family and I have been going to this place for years now. The staff is always friendly and attentive. We would like to see the all-you-can-eat return. We are a transplant from Long Beach. Tonight my kids said lets get Chicken Katsu. Our go to restaurant was Ohana in Lakewood. So I searched Ohana near me and found Ohana Sushi. We were all excited to have a familiar food. We ordered 5 orders of Chicken Katsu and waited with rumbling stomachs. We ordered online and that process was very easy. We picked it up and it was packaged, bagged, and ready to go. However when we got home to our disappointment each box contained well done, dry and unremarkably flavored Katsu. What a disappointment! I enjoyed coming to this sushi restaurant; they have decent food in the area. What I did not appreciate was gratituity being automatically added for a table of 4; 2 in which were babies. When I asked the server about the automatic gratituity I was advised that has been in place for awhile. Now considering the fact that we have continuously dined here every few weeks, I have NEVER seen this on my bill made and this made me feel that we were being discriminated against. Not once did I read any details on the menu or throughout the restaurant that this change happened or was happening. As a paying customer, I want the transparency. I tip with great service. Not once were our drinks ever refilled while we dinned since this change supposedly took affect.
