I couldn't wait to come here so my husband brought me for Valentine's day. Busy, yes it is. We had a reservation for 6pm and showed up at 5:53pm to stand in a line. The same people that walked in in front of us had no reservation and were just standing at the desk waiting. Finally someone came over and asked if anyone had a reservation. I raised my hand and they got us seated. At this point it was a little after 6pm. We waited on our waitress a while. Again, they are busy. I sit in my booth writing this review. She is friendly and doing what she can. She has quite a few tables. We ordered drinks from the bar only to find out there is 1 bartender who happens to be the manager. We got our food and it was not what was expected. The hibachi steak and shrimp were both overcooked, the fried rice was not flavorful at all. I put everything to the side. Sushi came, only 1 of 5 rolls were decent. We have eaten what we're going to and no drinks still. The water tastes off by the way. Maybe no filter? I'm not sure but that was the first notice of something wrong... the water. By now it's 6:54pm and still no drinks. Finally another guy walks up with our drinks and we have already asked for a manager. The manager comes and asks what's wrong. We tell him about the food being overcooked and that we understood there was only 1 bartender but we've been here an hour at this point and they just showed up and we're done eating. He proceeds to say we were late for our reservation and we haven't been here an hour. I call BULLSHIT on that. We knew they would be busy and made sure to be on time so we didn't get pushed back. He said he would comp the drinks but we had to pay for the food which is fine. He clearly saw what was and was not eaten. I'm bummed because I really wanted to eat here and now I will probably never come back. He let us keep our drinks and I haven't touched it. It was just the way he wanted to argue. We weren't rude about it, just didn't want the drinks after we were done and to have them taken off the ticket. It's now 7:16pm and we're leaving. It took 15 minutes to get a receipt because the manager didn't fix the ticket, the waitress had to do it and she had to wait to get his card to take the drinks off before we could get the ticket. We paid and are now leaving. I hope no one else has this experience! Now my husband is taking me to chick-fil-a to get nuggets! Probably the worst sushi in Tyler. I've had better rolls at Brookshires. The staff was nice and the renovation looks great but the food was terrible quality. Even the fried rice was just rice and scrambled eggs. Miso soup was terrible and the house salad dressing was just spicy mayo. Most of the specialty rolls were deep fried and only had crab mix in them. The issue wasn't with the service but totally with the quality of food. Just enjoyed an absolutely fantastic lunch at Ohayo Sushi on Broadway, in South Tyler. The food, service, and atmosphere were GREAT! Our server, Lady, was MOST attentive, and ensured we knew we could keep ordering from their menu. The food was served very quickly after being ordered, and was absolutely delicious. Their menu offers SO many enticing options. The restaurant manager, Michael, also stopped by our table to greet us, and make us feel welcomed (even more so than Lady had already done). All in all, this was a really great first experience. We will definitely be returning, and highly recommend y'all going to try it out. read more

A little hesitant about all you can eat sushi but I was quite impressed. I'm someone that can eat a lot of sushi and at any other sushi restaurant you'd pay twice the $32 ticket. This place has only been open for a week so there are definitely some kinks that need to work out but that's to be expected. It's going to busy till the new wears off then they should settle in. The food was delicious. I can't believe it is all you can eat. You get a lot of choices on the Sushi, etal. Everything is fresh and the waitstaff are very friendly as they move back and forth from the kitchen. We get the soup to start and I like the seaweed salad. I love the redfish with spicy mayo. When I First saw Ohayo on Yelp I was skeptical because it had just opened. I usually try and wait I few months so the restaurant can work out the kinks. I'm so glad we went anyway. I was stationed in California for many years and they have some of the best sushi outside of Japan. Ohayo did NOT disappoint. I loved the all you can eat because you could get a wide variety of fresh sushi as well as other menu items. The service was great (I did not get her name) and she kept asking if everything was fresh and to our liking. You could tell that was their biggest concern and it showed. One person at my table had food allergies and the staff were great about taking time to double check with the kitchen and go over the menu item by item to explain which items were safe and which items to avoid, we have never received such attentive care over these food allergies before. I also love the way the owners have decorated, it is very different from the last restaurant in this location. My only complaint is it is a bit dark inside. Get ready for this review because it's one of the most wild experience's I've had while in a restaurant. My husband and I tried this place out the weekend they opened, we went in Saturday night around 9pm. They were pretty steady with guests, but nothing crazy busy, no wait or anything like that. We were immediately sat at a table, but there was no explanation of the menu, no talking whatsoever from the host. Cool, whatever and we sit there for about 10 mins without being greeted before I'm assuming was a manager came up and checked on us. He said he would grab our server and about that time was a server came out of the kitchen for the first time since we had set down. She immediately went to her other table right next us to talk to them and the manager tapped her shoulder and mentioned she needed to greet us and she nodded her head. She kept talking to her table then went back to the kitchen back to another table, etc another 5 mins goes by and we decide it's time to go. At that time as we're about to get up she comes to our table and immediately asks us what we want to drink. No apologies for waiting, nothing just drinks. I wanted to leave but my husband insisted we stay, so we did. As she goes to go grab our drinks, i noticed she didn't have any shoes on!!! just nasty socks!! There's alot more i could say about this server in general and how she treated her other tables and what she was saying about the kitchen, but i won't. Just know its very unprofessional! She proceeded to put her shoes on halfway through dinner, as she was hiding them hiding under a bench in the middle of the dining floor. When the food was brought to our table, we didn't have any plates or napkins for the sushi to share, took forever to get refills, took forever to get her attention to order food. Keep in mind she only had us, and 2 other tables. she was just lazy. When we were paying out, I ended up asking her why she didn't have shoes on and her excuse was that "her feet hurt so bad from being on her feet and running food and the kitchen would yell at them if they didnt run food" and she asked me if her feet smelled bad since i noticed they were off ?? no its just obvious. Anyways she said the manager had already gotten on to her for it and that's why she put them on, but then showed me she didn't even have her foot in her shoes all the way, that was unnecessary i didn't need to see that. I guess me and husband ended up getting dinner and a show all in one! Overall, the food is fantastic!! We loved the sushi but the miso soup was terrible. We will be back we will just avoid sitting in Lady's section. read more
