I had my synthetic oil changed at this place back in January. Recently, my car was in for service at a different shop and they were conducting a service bulletin about the PCV Valve Cover System. I am sorry I haven't come here earlier. The service is SUPER quick. No pressure for all the bells and whistles. BUT, very helpful in regards to what does need to be done and what can wait. I feel very confident in saying that this is an honest shop. So often I walk out of a mechanics wondering if I just got taken for. Not here. They do much more than oil changes. Terrible customer service most of the guys there are rude and inconsiderate to their customers. I came in for an oil change 2/23/18 and I specifically asked for my headlight to be replaced as well. So I paid about $66, ok NO problem. Within a couple of hours I notice that my lights still weren't bright. So I decided to pull over and my headlight was out! I called on Saturday 2/24/18 and spoke with someone about the situation as well as the year and make of my car. I was told to come back to the shop the same day. I arrive and the manager told me that he did not have my light in stock. Inconvenience #1, I was told to return on Monday. Tuesday 2/27/18 I returned and was immediately approached by the smallest mechanic that works there. I do not know his name. Well he decided to tell me that he changed my fog light and not the headlight. I asked why he would do that and his reply was " I told you the fog light needed to be changed it costs $25". That was a lie. I never agreed to having a fog light replaced ever. I specifically asked for my headlight. He continuously argued with me about this situation and laughed pretty much the whole time. I asked the little guy why he was laughing and he said "because this is a joke to me" . I then asked the manager for contact info so I could report this to the owner. The manger refused to give any information. I then asked for a copy of my receipt from my previous visit and I was denied a receipt. The very unprofessional mechanics were laughing the entire time. I planned on having $1000 worth of work done here,but now I will not. This type of service is NOT acceptable. Those types of people should not have the privilege to deal with customers. I will take this further. Disrespect is disgusting and I hope the real owner fires his staff. People like this should be plastered on the news for disrespecting a customer. Usually I go to another place up on Ogden, but I didn't have much time today and Oil Depot was so close that I decided to try it out. I got directed right into the bay and asked which oil I wanted. And in less than the ten minutes they said it would take, boom, done. I even got a $4 discount! I think I'll be back in a few months for the next one. read more

These guys are amazing! I had another mechanic tell me I needed a new fuel pump - an $800 repair. The guys here found a crack in a hose to my fuel tank - they replaced it and charged me $5. Excellent custome service. They don't try to sell premium oil or other unnecessary items. Best oil change shop in the area! read more

As a young driver, today was the first time I had to get the oil changed myself (rather embarrassing actually). Now, I should let you know, that I know almost nothing about cars. I was kind of worried that I would be asked a lot of questions that I wouldn't know the answer to. As soon as I got out of my car, they were friendly, saw that I didn't know a whole lot about cars, and helped me get my oil changed without any problems. And they're quick! I timed it. It took 4 minutes. While paying I talked to the guy who had just changed the oil (in case you want to know, it cost me about $34). He was friendly, we talked a little bit about how often I should get my oil changed (he was honest, unconcerned about getting me back as often as possible). And let me know about the free checkups that come with the oil change that I can get whenever I want. AND I was leaving he gave me a $4 off coupon for next time (I know yelpers love coupons. When you find a place that takes a simple thing like oil changes, and makes a sincere effort to be the best at it, you stick with that place. The staff here is friendlier than any local business I frequent. They are honest about what they find, upgrades are offered with 0 pressure, and they often go out of their way to do the little things. The last time I took my car elsewhere for an oil change (just to save a few bucks), the staff did damage to my car's exterior. I gave Oil Depot a shot after that, and couldn't be happier with my decision 10 years later. They've given me solid advice when I've asked, made recommendations that have saved me money and make me feel more like a friend or neighbor than a customer. read more

Son Took Jeep in for an oil change. When they finished Jeep wouldn't start. Technician tells son it's a bad starter and they need to replace. Replaces starter - still won't start. Says bad battery - tests and still not problem. Checks spark plugs and states there is fluid in the engine. Drains fluid and try's to restart... still won't start. Tells son the engine is seized. He calls me - I get car towed to mechanic hoping engine is under warranty. Of course it's not - and new mechanic tells me that the piston blew due to it being started without fluids and the engine is now toast. All of that is bad enough but when I went back to discuss with owner - he basically tells me the same story and indicates he and his team worked in the Jeep for a long time. I tell him Jeep ran when son brought it in and now Jeep is basically scrap and somehow I paid you $350 to do it? I ask if there is anything he is willing to do to make this right and keep our business with my families other four cars. He replies no - but real sorry this happened. Needless to say he has lost my business and I would recommend he lose yours as well. In reading other bad reviews - seems to be a recurring issue at this place. Buyer be ware. read more

I've never been to an oil change place that has been this friendly, this cheap, or this quick. I needed an oil change for my car, which requires 0W-20, which is a more expensive oil. So, i called around and most places quoted me 60 or 70 bucks. Oil Depot told me they'd do it for 49.99, and could use my $4 off coupon from the paper. So, I went in (no appointment needed) and was met by 4 friendly guys, waiting to help me with my car. They asked what i needed, and once again went over the options and pricing with me. I told them what I wanted and sat down in their fairly nice waiting room. About 5 minutes later (no kidding) they came in and told me they were done! I paid my dues. The guy at the counter let me know that (within the listed life of the oil change) i could come in and get my tire air or fluids topped off for free. 5 minutes later, and $48 (including tax), I found my new oil place. read more

I have been taking our 3 cars to Oil Depot for years for oil changes and batteries. They always do a great job! Never have oil leaks after they do the oil change. I love the way they refill your windshield washer anytime between oil changes. They have a $4.00 coupon on oil changes too. I went to Oil Depot on Friday 5/9/14 at 4:30 because my battery light went on. They checked it and found out it was my alternator. They got my part within an hour and had my car fixed by 6:00. What service! Wayne and his crew are unbelievably nice and do a great job! I am so glad they are close by. I like that they don't try to sell you a bunch of stuff that you don't need. I took my G35 into their shop a couple of days ago and they are by far the best and most honest mechanics in town and i have had my share of car problems. A few weeks back my Radiator busted and I took it to 3D auto in Lombard. While they fixed my radiator they knocked of my AC switch so my AC stopped working. The guys at Oil Depot not only got my AC fixed but they went the extra mile and fixed my squealing belts. And they saved me about 400 dollars in the process. I can't say enough about bad experiences that I had with this location. I used to take three cars there for oil change! 1st of all good luck if they did something to your car getting them to admit to it! The owner and his staff will not admit but will accuse you of telling them a lie! They have scratched one of my cars, forgot to check the fluids in my car, and the most interesting thing ever they forgot to put back the dip stick in my car. When I called to speak to them about it. Again, I was a lair and "they would never do something like that!" The way I see it they lost my business and three cars, which 3 x $33 = $99! Rather than keeping me happy and trying to work out something turned me down flat! Good luck with this kind of attitude and business conduct! read more

I was extremely impressed by the guys at the Mobil Oil Depot. There were a lot of cars going in and out of this place so I was kind of reluctant to go here today since I really didn't want to have to wait a long time, but it is right by my house and my car was 6,000 miles over....YIKES! So I pulled in and one of the guys that worked there took my car immediately. He said it would only be ten minutes for a basic oil change, which I didn't believe him because I've never had an oil change take 10 minutes, even when I was the only person there. I went in the waiting room and literally 8 minutes later, the guy was ringing me up and handing me my receipt. What I loved most about this place, besides how quick they were to change my oil is that they didn't BS me and try to get me to pay more money than I needed to by saying "oh you need more windshield fluid" or "you should really switch to synthetic since you wait a long time between oil changes" or "blah blah blah". None of that! From now on, this will definitely be my go to place for oil changes. read more

I cannot understand all of the five star reviews on here. I went here for the first time hoping I found a new place for my oil changes, but what I got was a lack luster job. They did not check any of my fluids. My coolant was low, I had zero wiper fluid and my brake fluid was low. They are so close to my house, but if that's the job they do, I will never go back to them if I want my car to stay healthy. read more

Have been going to this shop for years with numerous cars. Apparently there is a new owner. I had purchased a battery 4-1/2 years ago. The battery was a 6 year battery. I was having issues with the cars starting and brought it in. I explained the issue right away and provided a copy of the receipt. I also asked for an oil change. They performed the old change, but would not pro-rate the battery or even offer to test the battery. Did not even look at the battery other than see what brand it was. They told me that they no longer sell that brand of battery and that I needed to pursue the brand. I felt that they should honor the original sale and try to at least make me feel like a valuable customer. Instead, I was told that they did not care if I ever gave them further business. I thought that this was told to me by some employee, but learned that he was the owner. Not the same owner that I had dealt with for 15 years. I was not expecting a free battery or anything, just a pro-rated one and better customer service and more respect as a past customer. Needless to say, I will not be returning with any of my 4 cars. Purchased a new battery from a competitor who was more than happy to test my battery and offer their advice. read more

They are always willing to answer questions for me and give me recommendations. Their oil change prices are reasonable, but the value is second to none. I Strongly Recommend Oil Depot. I first visited Oil Depot in 2-19 for an oil change. I had been using a couple of national brands for years but never felt truly comfortable as I was always told that I needed a number of different services. I thought it was time to try something new. While at OD, I met JP who actually looked me in the eye while we discussed recommended services. My car had more than 250,000 miles. I trusted JP. They also do not charge dealership rates. Since that time, I have had JP make various repairs and perform recommended services that ideally would have been done previously. One of them was replacing my power steering pump. About 45 days later, there was a problem with the replacement. A second pump was promptly installed at no cost. They stood behind their work. Since that time, they have replaced brakes, struts, shocks, well bearings, etc. Thank goodness I gave them a chance. Tim, one of the owners, has also been very professional in our dealings. read more

Crazy fast place. I think i was paying for my oil change in about 8 minutes. Only thing they 'bugged' me about was the air filter....which was indeed dirty (saw them take it out). While the air filter is overpriced, I went ahead and did it ($12.99) because I can never seem to find time to head to the store to get one. Regardless, the guys were courteous and gave some good advice. I asked them about my belt which has been pretty noisy for quite a while. He didn't try to sell me on getting it replaced (which they do), but offered a decent price and said it's ok and would take about a half hour to do. They didn't try to say "Ohhhhh look how dirty your oil is!!! You better get this super fancy expensive fuel and oil cleaning system! It's only $79.99!" or replace a PCV valve. Every time I go to other places they try those tactics. I'd have no prob recommending this place. I'll be going back. read more
