I needed new sink basins to be installed & I reached out to many companies to remove the counter top & reinstall. Many companies said they couldn't do it & I was told since it's granite countertops they will crack therefore new granites need to be installed. I needed the granite to be the exact color as the existing one. All the companies I have reached out to wouldn't help me color match except Otto. He came to the property multiple times to find the exact match. I appreciated his attention to detail & going above and beyond to find the granite. A deposit was made to get the material and prep work began. Countertops in the kitchen, guest bathroom countertops, and master bathroom countertops needed to be replaced. Otto & his team did the work from start to finish which I appreciated tremendously. I didn't have to reach out to multiple companies. One stop shop! I did stop by a few times to the property to ensure everything was completed as time progressed. I realized the plumbing for the sinks weren't done, but that was an easy fix. I just contacted the office & was able to get that fixed within a day. There was a little miscommunication regarding the phone line and it was covered up with the backsplash but they came out to uncover it quickly. If I had any questions I was able to get in contact with Kathy easily (I believe she's the office manager, I can't remember). The material we used is a marble-looking porcelain which requires extra work on all of the edging to ensure the design/image looks as if it is natural and transitions over the edges; they managed this flawlessly. The crew and the administrative team were very professional and easy to communicate with, and I appreciate that they gave the opportunity to review and approve the templates prior to fabricating the materials. Kathy under-promised and over-delivered on the installation timeline (very smart), which was terrific since we couldn't use most of the kitchen between demo and install. I chose a handmade zellige tile which is a lot more work than standard tile, and the guys were so careful to get everything straight and perfect which I really appreciated. I put off changing our 1980's tile kitchen countertops for years because we just didn't want to deal with problems, underestimates, work not done, etc. We have never had a house project go smoothly UNTIL OJ Tile and Granite. A friend recommended this company to replace all of our rather extensive kitchen countertops and backsplash with Quartz countertops. From the moment Otto walked in the door and efficiently told me everything that would happen, how long it would take and who would do what, I felt confident that maybe it would be ok. And the very detailed estimate (which was exactly what we were charged). Just the talk of "demolition" is scary! Kathy (the more than competent office manager) kept track of everything and called regularly to tell me the schedule, when to pay an invoice, who would be there and when. The whole process takes almost a month. Demolition is first and was done so quickly, efficiently and with practically no dust residue. They put up plastic sheets to trap the dust in the kitchen. Seriously 1 day to remove masses of tile and grout and clean it up. It was remarkable and the team was on-time, careful, nice and just good at what they do. All while we were also having a major plumbing leak repaired. Next came the template team - also, on time, efficient, nice and very thorough asking questions when necessary about how we could do things, where the seams should be, etc. (NOT that one can even find the seams - their work is so incredibly good!). Next came a visit to their showroom/fabrication center in Belmont where they brought out all the templates and had me pick the spots on the large quartz slabs I would like for each of the counters and how that would go with the backsplash. Rudy was remarkable and I was grateful for his guidance. It takes a couple of weeks to cut and polish the slabs and yes - you are living with a plywood kitchen for a bit. Not a problem. Then installation - that took 1 1/2 days and was the most amazing thing to watch. These slabs weigh a LOT and this team came in, put them in quickly, efficiently and clearly took pride in their work. It is remarkable how incredibly perfect everything is. I could have cried when I saw one of the guys carefully rubbing out a smudge on the perfect counter. Otto even recommended the MOST amazing handyman to do all the "other stuff" - connecting the new stove top (not easy - a Jennair downdraft gas cooktop), reworking the plumbing for the new sink and doing a lot of wall repair caused by the plumbing leak we were dealing with (but that is a separate review). We are 100% confident that this company is unsurpassable in quality of work. I would never go anywhere else (especially when it comes time to redo those 1980's bathrooms!). read more

If I could give OJ 10 stars out of 5, I would. We purchased 3 slabs of Bianco quartzite from DaVinci, and OJ fabricated our kitchen counters and a bathroom vanity for us. Pricing: Their pricing was completely transparent and very fair. OJ conducts business with honesty and integrity. Quality: The quality of their work is excellent. The infinity edges were beautiful, and the seams were practically invisible. Quartzite is very hard yet shatters easily. This expensive and hard to replace material was to be trusted only with a craftsman like Otto. Project management: We absolutely adored Antoinette. Otto and his crew are absolutely the best! The tile installers were really craftsmen and took great care in cutting and installing a glass tile backsplash which is not easy to work with because it is so fragile. Otto,too, did an amazing job of fabricating the porcelain counter. Porcelain, like glass, is also very difficult to cut because it can easily crack during fabrication, unlike stone. Otto not only had the necessary finely honed blades to smoothly cut porcelain but the seams of the porcelain pieces were virtually invisible. He was a perfectionist in everything related to this project. His crew installed all new electrical outlets and switches and installed and painted new drywall that was adjacent to the counter and backsplash. I've never had more competent or nicer people working for me. Their high work standards necessitated extra time to finish their job but the results were definitely worth the wait. Kathy, the office manager and Chris her asst. are also great. They were patient with our questions and concerns and were wonderful to work with . They gave true estimates of time frame and walked us through everything! The entire OJ team is awesome. read more

We had a large and very difficult tiling project, with over 400 exterior square feet, using a large 12 by 24 tile, with small spacing of 1/16 of an inch. Nery and his team did an excellent job navigating 2 slopes for drainage, and a deck that was 2 inches shorter on one end than the other. Also, they created a beautiful endcap for the tiling, even though it was underneath the deck and not visible. Nery personally inspected the deck upon completion to make sure that the job was completed to his high standards. I would highly recommend them for any tiling job, great guys that did great work, completed ahead of schedule and above our highest expectations. read more

We just had our kitchen floor redone by OJ Tile and Granite and we're thrilled with their work. Nery Alvarado and his crew were recommended by a contractor friend of ours who told us he has hired them for years and they've never let him down. They did a terrific job for us, working efficiently, cleanly and at a very reasonable price. OJ Tile and Granite is a family-run business, with Nery handling the estimates and his brother and cousins taking care of the rest. They're honest, knowledgeable and professional. Our house in San Francisco has a medium-sized kitchen, about 150 square feet, and we wanted to replace the tile. We had been told by previous bidders that the work would take a week, but Nery's brother and his assistant were essentially done in three days. They set up shop in our garage, where they cut the tile and did the prep work, and by the time they were finished you could barely tell they had been there. I believe they do other types of work as well, such as counter tops, patios, fireplaces, etc. If I ever need help in those areas, I'm calling Nery before anybody else. read more

I live in a hard to reach area and didn't want any last minute delivery up-charges and felt more confident with them measuring from the start. Plus you build a relationship from Day 1. Otis' team was responsible for the measuring, demo, prep and install - entire project from A to Z which was important to me. They were timely, did excellent work, and super responsive to all my questions. Helped me figure out what to do with some of the extra slab. I went with Dekton. LOVE my new kitchen. Nery and the team at OJ Tile and Granite are very hard working artisans who go the extra mile and back up their work. We had a particularly large and difficult tile job and Nary came up with a fix for the outside rim of our deck and his team executed flawlessly. We had some problems with the blue waterproofing material staining our tile and Nery handled the cleaning himself for five hours of cleaning each tile effected.
