The gel is uneven as you can see on the cuticle of the 4th toe. Then for some reason, she decided to use a dremel to clean up her mess. It cut into me and left a bloody mess. He did great with the shaping and filing, they're so smooth and feel great, but the design still wasn't what I expected. I got the a manicure and pedicure. I got the basic/regular pedi. The artist was amazing and so sweet. For my manicure I chose a dark pink cat eye gel. One of my nails on my right hand was a lot shorter than the others and she made it longer with an acrylic nail - this was my first time getting acrylics. Even though it was just one nail, I can tell that the artist did an amazing job. All of my nails looked incredible and they have excellent selection of colors. The place is smaller than nail salons I've been to, but the service is phenomenal. I will definitely go back to Solar Nails. The inside is not as fancy as some of the bigger nail salons around town, but it's still charming and very comfortable. I highly recommend!

Don't get me wrong, the employees are nice, but the skills are not there. I was charged $55 for these nails, and as you can see, they look like a nail tech student did them. You shouldn't be charging premium prices for low quality service. Now I have to go to a new salon to fix these, and spend more money than I wanted. The application was sloppy as heck, as you can see. The worst part is she originally was only gonna use a clear coat for the French, and it exposed the new parts of the nail that were filled in. I had to request that she put on a coat of pink to hide that new fill in. And one coat didn't even do the job? Yet she was about to go with it anyways. I don't know if it was laziness or just not having the skills to do nails. Either way I'm stuck with these monstrosities until I get to my vacation destination. My advice to the owner is to get skilled nail techs. There wasn't one person in that salon on a SATURDAY other than me, and that should've been my red flag right there. This salon is located in north park mall and is right next door to the old line leopard. If you park at the door that says Jerome's or rococo you'll be able to walk right in! It was very obvious that i was a first timer because my pedicure took a total of about an hour and several people came in while i was there asking for their specific person they requested and everyone knew one another. This salon does both nails and hair. Nothing fancy but definitely clean and quiet. No techs took phone calls while they were doing your toes and gave you their 100% attention which was a nice change. Their pedicure prices start at $30 and go up to $50. I got the middle one and got a sea salt scrub and warm towels also got callous removal as well. My tech was super sweet. Her massage wasn't as deep or as long as I'm spoiled to. Overall it was a great spot and i see while so many people enjoy this spot i just probably will go back to my place only because i like my long foot massage and deep pressure not to mention it's $15 cheaper.
