I found out about this place through a friend who has been going here for years. I called to make an appointment, saw the optometrist and then was prescribed contact lenses/ picked frames for a new pair of glasses. The process was seamless from beginning to end. Everyone was nice and the price was affordable/super fair. The owner helped me pick glasses that suited my face structure but also was mindful of my budget. In addition, there was a promo for the contacts (buy 6m and get 6m free) and at the end, he even through in one-day contact samples as well. All in all, a great experience! read more

I came to get my glasses done and I came with my prescription (and also came with my original glasses) and they did it completely incorrect. I came back today to get the glasses checked because they did it completely wrong and the person who did my glasses started yelling at me and being extremely aggressive. He started yelling at me telling me that I never brought my original glasses and that I was fabricating the entire story. I should have called the cops because he was nearly about to ATTACK me. I am never coming to this narcissist business again and I highly recommend avoiding this business at all cost! read more

I have been buying very cool and affordable glasses from here for years now. They not only have attentive and accommodating customer service but soooooooo many glasses to choose from. Emphasis on so many. Yay! I like that. On top of that, you can't find the best deal on glasses eye exam for only $20! Amazing! The Optometrist here is literally the best I've met. He is impressively knowledgeable, detailed, fast perceptive, helpful, nice, and productively quick (doesn't waste time at all), and he reminds me of my baby Internal Medicine Doctor Sister. :-) He's a distant relative of mine from same surname. Very cool. Go figure how we're hyper active brain and behavior lol. No joke. Hehe I super highly recommend all to come here. They're so fast here with getting glasses done. I am already on my 5th super trendy glasses shopping with them here. Hehe I have the lavender, clear, baby blue, white with red sides, and clear red plastic frames by far with them. Such a happy camper! Though my own lenses are pricey because I want the best for me all the time, the prices here are still amazing compared to anywhere else. I love that they text you when your glasses are done to be picked up and paid the rest for. They respectfully text once as a reminder and they don't bother you anymore afterwards which I like that. Due to me being soooo busy with my very tight schedule, I need that only once text and not many. :) It's also very cool to unintentionally have same glasses as the korean celebrities haha :-D Happy shopping here, everyone! I have coming to OK Optical for about the past 8 years. I have been getting my frames, lens and my eye exams here.Seok is the owner and he gives excellent customer service. I have come back here to get my lens cleaned, frames adjusted. He speaks English and Korean. If you want a personalized experience shopping for your new eyewear. Come down here give them a try.I have had my Tommy Bahamas lens changed to a progressive lens and they work perfectly on my trip to Hawaii. I had for a n itemized receipt for my insurance reimbursement. It was a problem at all. When your frames are ready, Seok will send you text to pick them up. I had showed right after he had closed his doors for the day, he still let me in to pick up my glasses and he still made adjustments to them, so they would sit right on my face. The prices here are very reasonable. Same brands at higher end stores, with lower prices and better personal customer service. read more

I have been coming here for years now for my glasses even though I live an hour away and I am certain it will stay that way for a long time. First, Daniel is very knowledgeable about glasses and personable, even being trilingual (maybe more?) and welcoming customers in. The other workers are nice as well and the optometrist is professional. Glasses selection is impeccable and keeps up with the trends. They have something for the entire family regardless of age, gender, or style preference. I look forward to coming here every year to get myself a new pair of spectacles. It doesn't hurt that there's some good places to eat in the Torrance area. Parking can be tight sometimes. Cannot say enough good things about this place. If you're a fellow bad eyes club member like me, this place is a must. read more

Love this place, have been going for past few pairs. Always quick service, glasses available day after. Eye exam is straightforward, doctor gives helpful important information about both glasses and contacts. Gave specific instructions as well. Told me something important few years ago: I would need contacts to reshape my astigmatism eyeballs before I can get LASIK. Bathroom is also really nice, whole office is very clean and bright. Staff are always kind and helpful. I tried contacts, the lady helped me put both of them in and took one out for me; I decided not to buy contacts this time (too hard for me and also $270/3 months for daily astigmatism contacts without insurance) but they gave me a pack for free to try again! For contacts eye exam, it was $80 and not the advertised $20. And had no problems getting my prescription, he just gave me the transfer paper, which also had the charges for the visit. read more

I've been coming to this specific optical place for 6 years even though we moved to several places already, Seok the owner is very nice and accommodating. I never have any issues with them and their glasses and service is amazing, my family tried a local optician here in las vegas but their prescription was always off, so we decided we'll stay with them even though we live far. I highly recommend this office. I found them at a time when I did not have insurance, they are incredibly reasonably priced, they have an overwhelming selection, and are very kind. They do not take VSP, but VSP has an out of network reimbursement form you can submit. I absolutely love this place so much that even with insurance, I'll continue to go. 10/10. read more

I drove from another city for 40 mins and before I went there, i asked them if my insurance covered my glasses. They said yes but when they checked it covers only the exam. I found this from a Japanese magazine and said eye exam is $20 and their glass door said $20 but he told me $30 and reimburse exam fee and takes 2 to 3 weeks. glasses not covered. so I went home and checked my insurance and said it covers the lens and frame. so i called them around 6pm on Saturday and never answered and e-mailed them never responding. I had to call and she said your insurance is out of network. It's very annoying and I'm wasting time to go there and deal with liar staff do not speak fluent english. very hard to communicate. Eye doctor was really funny and nice but staffs are very bad. read more

So I've been to several different places to get my glasses done. And the service here is AMAZING. *Appointment needed to do an eye exam* I just needed to get both my glasses lenses prescription changed. Ok Optical was able to do it RIGHT on the spot. Where most places send it elsewhere - and may take up to several business days. I didn't get the persons name that was helping me, but he was very informative, and also adjusted my frame as well to have a better fit on my face. As my frames are couple years old - and was a bit loose. He definitely knows what he is doing. I definitely recommend this place and will keep coming again! read more

Came here by emergency because my contact had fallen out. After being turned away by Clear Choice Optometry down the street and my usual optometrist was closed, I found this place open early and took walk ins for exams- YES. I picked up my contacts today, a week later (1yr supply for $120 promo! Less than half of what I usually pay and for the same brand). The Dr. is caring and knows his practice. An easy 40 bucks made from lying. Not coming back Asked if they accepted vsp Insurance and told me they did. Arrived and did an eye exam went thru the whole program and in the end they said I have to pay and that vsp would reimburse me. Not what vsp told me before I went. Come to find out they are not in network with vsp. Which really means they don't accept vsp. So they charged me 40 bucks for the exams. Never coming back. Your welcome for the free 40 bucks. read more

I came here with my husband who got an eye exam and contacts here. We came without an appointment and he was able to be seen right away by the optometrist. I didn't catch the doctor's name but he was very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. They have a huge selection of eyeglasses and sunglasses here, even for kids. They have both American brands including high-end and also Korean brands as well. I found the prices to be very fair and reasonable. Service was phenomenal! The owner, Mr. Ko was super helpful and nice! I am definitely coming back here in the future for my own glasses! Parking: free in plaza lot. There's also an underground parking garage. read more

I think this optician is very expensive compared to other opticians. And I think the customer service is pretty bad. If the glasses came out, they wouldn't even adjust the glasses to fit my face, so I went somewhere else to adjust the glasses. This is a place I don't want to recommend. read more

Walked in after finding out this place just opened up and had great promotions of newly opening. I am very old fashion where when it comes to certain things I tend to stick around with where I've been going for years. But these people definitely moved me from their genuine kindness and willingness to help as soon as I told them about my recent headaches after work (being on the computer all day). Got my eye exam and they've noticed my eyes gotten worst in a year? from my last exam? well first, I didn't really believe it and thought this newbies don't know what they're talking about... Once I got the new lense , Woah I was seriously seeing whole different views of life. Not gonna lie, first 30 minutes I was seeing super clear yet had minor headaches being so damn clear. But my headaches went away and my eyes aren't that tired anymore. *POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE* I don't ever write negative reviews, but I had to share my experience. After spending a lot of money here in the past, on glasses and an eye exam, I was treated very poorly when asking for my prescription. I didn't even need a copy of the full prescription, just the PD number (needed to adjust glasses to correct position). The person I spoke to on the phone already knows I need this information to purchase glasses from another store, so he makes up some bs saying PD depends on the type of frame and he is UNABLE to give me the number. Since I did my research, I know this is false. PD doesn't depend on a specific frame, its the measurement taken from your eyes to adjust the center of the frame. He basically lied to my face, but I kept my cool and politely asked again. This dude is so stubborn, instead of just giving the number up he makes a desperate attempt to lure me into spending more money on their business, which would be a waste of money for me. After declining and at this point basically begging, he straight up told me he WILL NOT give me the number. All this just because I'm buying from a different store. He probably has the right to not give my prescription in order to protect his business, but this is the pettiest crap ever. I've never had a problem with asking for prescriptions in the past with other stores. Very disappointed. read more

My daughter was overdue for eye exam and knowing that she had trouble seeing thing at night, I was recommended by a friend to Ok Optical. Our experience was awesome. We were able to get an appointment and we were able to come in on same day. We met Dr. Phillip and he was fantastic, caring and knowledgeable. The test that they run are thorough. My daughter had many questions since it was her first time getting glasses and he was very helpful. All equipment is new in clean facility. The selection of eyewear were beyond normal. They have HUGE selections for all age group and we had no problem choosing best looking glasses. The Optician which is owner of the Ok Optical made sure my daughter's new pair of glasses fits well. We were very pleased that my daughters glasses were ready in 30 minutes. This place is best of the best! I wish I had been coming here for all my eye care needs in previous years. Drove over an hour, called the doctor to say I would be there at 440 (doctor leaves at 430) they said it was okay he would still see me, and I continued to drive there. Once I arrived they said "no doctor is gone." Refused to do the eye exam. Laughed and said "oh no no." when I said I literally JUST called.Terrible service. The optometrist here knows what he's doing. He is very straightforward with his work and the results after the eye exams. He lays everything out in front of you and let's you know the costs and different routes you can take after the exam. The staff here are really friendly as well and definitely cater to your needs. i am new to vsp and called to make an appointment for an exam for contact lens. the front desk…read morestaff were all really nice, over the phone and in person. they called prior to my appointment to give a friendly reminder. dr au and his staff were all very professional. my exam look about 30m dr au was pretty personable. recommended that i purchase pataday eye drops for my red eyes which are caused by allergies. the only thing is that i was not made aware of was the contact fitting fee, which is $60. when i called to make the appt, the gal provided my co pay amount and the allowance for contacts under my vision insurance. this is why i always opt out of vision insurance bc it costs less for me to pay out of pocket for contacts than to pay for vision insurance twice a month + copay + contact fitting fee + difference of what my insurance covers for contacts, which is about $100 more. so basically i am paying double this year. other than not disclosing the contact fitting fee..the visit was good. parking: plenty of parking.

I have a very specialized job where my eyesight is my lifeline. I've had countless frames, contact lenses, special FX lenses both standard size and sclera (prescription) always exactly what I need as my eyes changed over the years. When Dr. Gee recommended LASIK Surgery (which lasted 15 years) I still came for my regular check ups. Fast forward to today, I'm back wearing glasses and being cared for by the new Dr's now that Dr Gee is no longer with us. I'm so grateful that the team continues the same level of care and precision with their exams and all my crazy requests. Now my son, my husband and my siblings and parents come here. We love Avalon Optometry and will be coming here maybe even when I have grandkids!

Tried this small optometry office for an eye exam. The ophthalmologist that I went to for 12 years…read morefor an eye/vision exam retired so decided to try out this place... First of call when I called to make an appointment the young lady that answered was very curt and rushed. It was like being at a trivia night. When I got there the day of my appointment she stated that she didn't have any appointment scheduled at that time. I gave her my name and she stated she tried calling me to confirm the appointment and that I gave her the wrong number... so it was my fault she rushed when making my appointment and didn't reback the number to confirm she heard it correctly... which is receptionist duties 101. Waited a bit to see the OD because people walked in whike i was completing the paperwork so they were seen first. Once in the exam room the optometrist started the exam and he was thorough but he never explained what he was doing and just gave me instructions.. or never explained what each part of the exam was for which is what im use to. He did say my eyes were "pretty beat up" and I dont think I'll ever find that diagnosis in any medical book. The opthalmic machine looked old and it was sticky on my forhead asa lean my head on it. The eye paddle I was given to over my eye was also sticky. He told me not to touch my eye to it .... At no point did I see anyone cleaning or disinfecting anything with wipes. He did use a new machine to measure eye pressure that doesn't use a puff of air. After spending a long while going back and forth on the machine trying to get the correct prescription ... because the machine would blurr ... not sure what the issue was but it was frustrating and left the office with a prescription i didn't feel too confident with. Usually I get really nice frames and go all out. but ordered some inexpensive ones online to make sure the prescription worked for me. Not sure ill come back next year.
