Dr Okamoto it's very meticulous and precise, and comprehensive in her orthodonic treatments. I appreciate the fact that she herself is very hands on, and does a lot of the work herself. During my orthodontic treatment, I needed some periodontal work, and Dr Okamoto worked very closely with my periodontist. She communicated with him, sent him tools so he could work with my braces during his gum treatment, and she promptly saw me back to make sure my braces were intact. I came to Dr. Okamoto with a long list of orthodontic issues. Cross bite (check), underbite (check), open bite (check), tongue thrust (check). I was a 34 year old guy that DREADED braces and never fully smiled because my teeth (and bite) were all over the place. I was insecure to say the least. Thanks to Dr. Okamoto that is no longer the case! I couldn't be happier with the results. My case was COMPLEX and required that Dr. Okamoto work in tandem with an oral surgeon and prosthodontist. For those of you who may be searching yelp for specific terms, here's everything I had done: SARPE (surgically assisted rapid palatal expansion) - a procedure done by my oral surgeon ... they cracked my fully formed adult upper palate and installed an expander (mine was very narrow and crowded) ... this left me with a huge gap between my front two teeth which was horrifying! It almost looked like I was missing a front tooth the gap was so big. Braces (the metal ones) ... no discreet clear braces for me! I didn't qualify for invisalign because I eventually needed strong elastics (aka rubber bands) to fine tune my bite after my surgeries. Double jaw surgery (upper and lower, 4 breaks of the jaw) ... this included a night in the hospital and a liquid diet for weeks. Retainers ... which I wear every night and will continue to do so because I never want to go through any of this again! Thanks to Dr. Okamoto's attention to detail, patience and collaboration with my other doctors I will never have to worry about not being able to chew properly when I'm older or losing teeth due to a horrible bite with very few teeth that actually made contact. I can't recommend her enough. If anyone has questions, feel free to contact me. I had braces done by Dr. Okamoto a few years ago and during Covid. They had strict protocols to prevent Covid and provided excellent service, scheduling and reasonable costs for service. I have only recently (3 years lasted!) had to replace 1 of my retainers and Dr. Okamoto continues to help correct a space issue via that retainer. Simply the best! We have long been patients of Dr. Okamoto. She is highly skilled and professional. When we initially consulted with various other orthodontists, we were told in some cases that 4 extractions were necessary before commencing the work. Professional consultation and the doctor seems like a nice person but I decided not to contract my kids braces to them because of the inefficiency and lack of dental office proficiency from Maria, their office administrator. While I appreciate their use of orthodontic appliances that don't require rubber bands, I didn't feel like their cost factor of almost $2000 more than other quotes I have been getting for the same procedure was worth it. I happen to deal with many dental offices in my line of work and Okamoto Orthodontics didn't make me feel comfortable. To this date, I have not even received a follow-up call either which even furthers my assessment of their office administrator as sub-par. I called to get a quote for invisaline. They refused to give any type of quote without first coming in. Under "normal" circumstance I understand. However, trying to limit unnecessary trip to expose, I have zero desire to go without knowing the price range. The receptionist was inflexible and stuck to her speech.
