King of hamachi, Jalapeno Roll, 49er' Roll, Assorted Sashimi 12pcs
    Abbie N.

We ordered takeout and it was very good. We did the assorted sashimi, 49ers roll, king of hamachi, and jalapeno roll. I wouldn't order the jalapeno roll because it had a texture similar to bell peppers that I didn't love. It was around $80 bucks which seemed like a good price and quality.

Quite enjoyed this spot in Noe! Their menu is pretty reasonably priced, and the fish is super fresh and thick cut. I got the chirashi bowl which was so delicious! BTW they do 10% off with cash also!

Great location , always have a good happy hour! Our go to is always the red dragon, tiger , and jalapeño roll. We usually start off with the classic miso soup, and the house salad is phenomenal! The dressing is to die for , lil sweet and lil tangy! The Red dragon and tiger roll has freshly fried shrimp tempura. The crunch on them is amazing! And the jalapeño roll has a light kick of spice but very mellow and delicious as well! Service is always excellent and the restaurant is very intimate and peaceful. And 10% off the bill when paying with cash!! Always a plus!

Lovely small eatery with a neighbourhood vibe. Service was good, and food was adequately tasty. The GesoAge squid legs were meaty and tasty. Our sushi rolls were very filling. Presentation was frickin crazy, I had no idea what was in the sauce but it was going ham. The quality of the sushi is not the highest, but good enough for a neighbourhood spot, and also for the price of the rolls! Mackerel plate was bland to me but my partner liked it as it was just a well fried mackerel. Not dry but not juicy. Just a fish

I never thought I would say affordable and fresh sushi in the same sentence but Oki Sushi in Noe Valley does just that. Hello Roll (eel, hamachi, avocado), Hawaii Roll (tuna avocado), Spicy Tuna, and Salmon Lover (Salmon skin and cucumber topped with salmon, tobiko, and scallion) all for under $40 before tax and tip. I though the Hello Roll would be my favorite, but I also couldn't stop eating the Salmon Lover so had gotten it all again the second time in one form or another. The second time however wasn't as great as the first as the rice was mushy and didn't have any seasoning (rice vinegar, etc.). In addition, also got the king of hamachi which I was not a big fan of since I prefer raw hamachi over cooked, which this had both. Instead of just spicy tuna this time, I upgraded to the lover roll which was the spicy tuna topped with white tuna and tobiko that came with both the black and orange tobiko. Overall, the mushy unseasoned rice took away from the experience the second time but I am hoping that it was just a one-off since they were really busy with takeout orders that day. Was takeout only when I went the first-time but it has now opened for indoor dining. Walking distance from Mitchell's Ice Cream for dessert after is another bonus.

Ordered delivery here through DoorDash so can't speak to Ambiance. Service took an hour, which is expected for a Saturday night at 7pm. Food was solid. Was it the best sushi I've had? No. Was it the worst? No. Lion King roll was bomb and the 12 piece sashimi was delicious. The King of Hamachi was overcooked though. Would be willing to try this spot again but I'd want to try more rolls.

Visit Date: Dinner on 11/3/2024 The cutest local spot in Noe - I was able to walk in and sat down without any wait. The Oki Combo was great value and I was so full after! Good quality for the price.

Just amazing all around. The sushi menu is fun, dynamic, and delicious. My friends and I barely used any soy sauce at all! The flavors pop! Service was excellent.

Oki sushi was more than ok it was great! I was able to sample a majority of the rolls with my mother from another brother, who decided to order what seemed to be the whole menu haha! Every roll was delicious in its own way and packed full with ingredients. The presentation of each roll was very fun and appetizing! The service was friendly and fast, and I look forward to returning to this neighborhood sushi spot!

You can pick up to 4 dishes each time, then added to cart. When your dish is coming, you see the light flashing, then a nice train carries your happiness over. Been here a couple of times already and the service never failed. Even came here during the Cherry Blossom Festival and the staff were still friendly / accommodating. They even put a spicy sauce on the side of one of the katsu plates when we mentioned that my dad couldn't handle all that haha. This cozy spot mainly focuses on katsu plates, but I like how they had off menu or specials to choose from if you'd like another option. I will say though them katsu plates were just chef's kiss. The meat is pounded thin enough where it's still juicy and tender, but doesn't affect the exterior from being crunchy and a bit flaky. Nothing was dry here yallll! I also like how it already comes with miso soup and salad. Huge fan of that Hamachi Truffle special though. Think of a citrusy flavor from the ponzu, fresh fish, a bit of micro greens, and a thin slice of jalapeño that just ~works~ on a cute wooden spoon that you want to steal I could honestly eat like 5 spoons of this. I'd skip on the calamari as it was kind of skimpy to share with a large group. Only note was that their fried katsu curry was a bit underwhelming with having more slices of carrots than potato! Would love to come back if I am ever in the area.

The restaurant can be a little hidden, but it's pretty easy to find with the instructions they send before your reservation. It's located above Fermentation Lab. Just head up the stairs and you'll find it inside the old Ichi Pub space. The restaurant is small and intimate, with only 9 seats at the counter. When you arrive, walk through the Yuji curtain and check in directly with the chef since there is no host. My biggest concern with set menus is always whether I'll feel satisfied and full afterward, but that was definitely not an issue here. My husband and I were both very satisfied after the meal. Every dish was delicious, and you could really taste the quality of each ingredient. Highlights for me were the bluefin sashimi, which was so buttery and soft that it literally melted in your mouth. The skillfish was rich and decadent, and the citrus and ginger balanced the flavors. The fried fish was another favorite as it reminded me of the savory Japanese rice crackers I loved growing up. Since it's located in Japantown, parking can be challenging. We had to loop around several times looking for street parking and even had two cars take spots we were waiting for, so definitely give yourself extra time before your reservation. I would highly recommend this place! The chef changes the menu periodically based on what's in season, so it's a great excuse to come back and try something new in the future. The location is unusual, as the restaurant is open to the mall, which is a bit disruptive. I came for the 8:30pm seating, but the previous guests were still finishing, so I had to wait until 8:45pm. The staff did not seem very concerned. Bad start. You could also hear the mall cleaning crew during dinner, which was not very pleasant. I ordered the 24-item Mizuho Menu, as did all the other guests. There were 5 guests in total (the restaurant can seat up to 8 people). Here is the menu I was served at the end of May: 1. starter: ama ebi cracker with caviar, pickled lotus root with shaved bonito, crab salad 2. nigiri 4x: isaki, iwana, myabi tai, kanpachi 3. sashimi: chutoro, hotate with caviar, umi masu, sawada 4. nigiri 8x: hirame, suzuki, inada, kurodai, shima aji, kamasu, otoro, aged A5 wagyu, kinmedai 5. hot dish: miso soup with inari and shrimp head, hokkaido uni with marinated ikura, black cod, umi masu with raw yellow egg and caviar 6. dessert: matcha ice cream with strawberry Frankly, the food was excellent. The starter was not very creative, but the nigiri were great. The sashimi selection was very nice, with some fish you do not see as often in omakase menus, such as isaki, iwana, and myabi tai, a kind of tai. Sawada was delicious and is always a good inclusion. We asked for some wasabi and received a small cup of kizami wasabi, a chopped wasabi with a slightly crunchy texture, which was a nice touch. For the nigiri, all the classics of a good omakase were present: otoro, kinmedai, shima aji, uni, hotate, and wagyu. Kamasu was also included, and it is one of my favorite fish. It is also worth noting that they age both their beef and their tuna, including the otoro that was served. A few pieces were torched, maybe a few too many. Overall, the service was not memorable, although chef Ron Au was friendly and nice. The place itself felt a bit questionable, and my expectations were not very high after the beginning of the meal.
