Chaosan Style Marinated Oyster
Harrison H.

I would just come for the Chaosan Style Marinated Oysters! Wow, were the oysters big and full of flavor! You definitely need to order a bowl of rice with the oysters to enjoy the great sauce. As others have noted, there's only one table at the restaurant, so be prepared to take your food to GG Park or bring it home. Definitely a sold restaurant if you're looking for some fast casual raw seafood!

Salmon sando
Fiona T.

The salmon Sando was the group favorite vs the Wagyu Sando. Both sandos included strawberry which I wasn't expecting. It didn't quite work with the Wagyu but was okay with the salmon Sando. If you had to choose one, I recommend the salmon one. The speed of service is hard to judge. It's a one man show. You order on the kiosk and the gentleman prepares your order on top of any mobile orders coming in. I came during the Sunset Night Market which didn't help the crowd. It took 30 minutes for the two sandos.

Salmon Don
Lynne N.

Tuna House has fresh seafood donburi bowls, sashimi, and sandos for under $20. I really like that the Unagi Don was very flavorful and saucy. The Salmon Don was fresh and delicious, but I wish they gave more fish since I feel like they gave too much rice for the amount of fish they gave. I also like that Salmon Sashimi was soft and melt-in-your-mouth. The Wagyu Sando had plenty of meat and it was very interesting that they also added strawberries inside the sando, but I don't think it goes well together. Interiors is very small, designed for grab-and-go with one table outside

Uni is missing in this Super Don

Ordered online. Pickup time was met. Super Don order was missing uni - only had salmon, hamachi & tuna. It was $28! Also had hamachi don, tuna sashimi, salmon sashimi & hamachi sashimi. Salmon & hamachi were fresh and delicious. The tuna, however, was dark dark red and fishy. Would probably not go back.

Got a couple things that just melted in my mouth! We will be back when I'm Craving Fish. And that's pretty often

I ordered the raw marinated salmon, but it was made with cooked salmon, and it wasn't fresh. I don't recommend eating it.

Premium Uni

Had been living around the neighborhood for while, haven't seen anywhere sells Japanese bentos in this area till this shop shows up around the blocks. Tried their Uni and Super Don, and not gonna lie it's very tasty. Worth to stop by and try, service here is nice, I do recommend to try it out here.

Plenty of hamachi chunks with seaweed salad, avocado, and edamame beans. I think this is about $12 or $13 if I remember correctly. so good and wallet friendly Sashimi (5/5) I loveeee hamachi (yellow tail) and I always get their sashimi and nigiri here. They have both regular hamachi and also the hamachi toro! The toro is about $18 for 6 or 7 pieces. So much cheaper than what you can get at restaurants. I wanted to do a make your own hand roll night at home and got a variety of sashimi, a small container of ginger and wasabi for $1 each, and a small container of tobiko for $2! Everything came out to about $80 and enough to feed 3 people. They have plenty of rice bowls, sushi rolls, and you can even order catering from them. And since they are a mini market, you can get a variety of Japanese snacks, drinks and ramen! Service is fast and the lady at the cashier is very nice and efficient.

It's a small shop, but it's great for grabbing sushi or sashimi to go. The selection can be a little limited depending on the day, and it is definitely on the pricier side for the portion sizes. That being said, the freshness, quality, and convenience keep me coming back. Service has always been friendly.

We came for a late lunch on a Saturday and it wasn't too busy. You can make a reservation through Yelp, but it wasn't necessary when we went. We tried the Omakase ($42), the Chirashi ($23), and the Chicken Teriyaki bento plus salmon skin roll ($18). The Omakase was delicious and looked beautiful! It included salmon belly, bluefin tuna, shimo aji, and other daily specials. It did not include uni. I really enjoyed the Omakase. The Chirashi included salmon, hamachi, tuna, and albacore over a bed of rice. The fish was fresh and delicious, especially the salmon. I tried a piece of the salmon skin roll and really liked that as well. I didn't try the chicken teriyaki, but heard it was good. The lunch specials came with miso soup, salad, and rice, which was nice. The service was really good. Our waitress brought drinks and refilled regularly. We had a great first experience at Amami Sushi Bistro on Geary.

Though can be problematic if you also order a big sushi platter. Regardless, crisped up nicely with tender meat underneath. The generous amount of spicy mayo was a great pairing. Lovers Boat: Definitely meant for two people, so a decent deal for all the food. Lots of variety with rolls, nigiri and sashimi. Though the nigiri might cause some lovers quarrel because for many fish types there's only one nigiri. Thankfully I'm pretty skilled at cutting nigiri in half with just chopsticks, so avoided any conflict! The nigiri was my favorite, with nicely little accents to up the game of the fish. The sashimi was nice too, but it's really just about the plain fish quality being the star. Also, the wasabi on the boat seemed fresher than the paste on the side, so go with that. Wasn't a huge fan of the rolls though. The California roll was the fake crab stuff; some places use canned snow crab to give you real crab but not get too pricey. The spicy tuna tasted a bit fishy, compared to the high end tuna pieces in the sashimi and nigiri. So if you have to sacrifice some sushi to stomach space, save the the rolls for last.

However, it was kinda muggy inside because it was warm outside. The staff was nice and welcoming, too. She was patient with us as we figured out what we wanted to eat. I ordered the Chicken Katsu. The chicken was tender and crunchy. My friend who ordered a sushi roll also enjoyed her meal. Everything tasted fresh, and the meal was very filling. The portion was generous, and maybe I was too tired and hungry from all the walking, so I ate the whole dish. Overall, we enjoyed our visit to Kazoku Sushi. The price was reasonable, and it was within walking distance of the beach.

For a mid-afternoon late lunch, we weren't really in the mood for sushi as I usually am, so we ordered: Agedashi Tofu - thin slices of deep fried tofu with a delicate crust in the traditional soy glaze. Fresh and on point and not greasy 4.4/5 Chicken Teriyaki - waited a few minutes for this one but this totally exceeded my expectations, as the slices of chopped chicken breast and thigh slabs were PERFECTLY grilled with everything MOIST and with the lightest bits of char to dial in the flavor. Not burnt, but juicy! Skinless too, so that makes this main even healthier with a big scoop of Japanese short grain rice and a serving of stir fried broccoli crowns, onion and zucchini alongside. The Teri sauce was a tiny bit on the salty side, but that's expected! 4.9/5 Maybe I'll try the sushi next time! Clean bathroom too! Approved! :)

Quality/Quantity - We had a large group, thank you for accommodating. I believe we made reservations, where we would not be seated until everyone showed up. Good thing the group all showed up on time (for once, lol). Ordered the following for our table, our other table had our larger half of the group. But due to the door mishap, I did not want to walk over to take pictures of their food/order. Okonomiyaki Fries - Was too soggy for me, but everyone else on our table enjoyed it. Popcorn Salmon - I did not enjoy this, but everyone else on both tables loved it, so it was "a me problem." Boneless Fried Chicken - I enjoyed it, but no one else did?!?! I guess I have very different tastes from this group...? Tonkatsu Ramen - Good. But very basic. Beef Short Rib Plate - Three orders, both people enjoyed it. Actually, our young eater ate 1.5 of this plate, 1/2 from his mom's order. This order also came with a side salad and steamed rice. Bulgogi Plate - I can't remember if I got my rice?!?! Well, the beef was of decent quantity, I actually brought a little back home for leftovers, with the boneless fried chicken. At home, it was a little too salty, too much soy sauce. Sizzling Bibimbap - My daughter's dish which was also good. I believe she had leftovers. Our other table got the regular bibimbap, they said next time they will try the sizzling as they felt that was better. Lastly, our guest on the other table ordered one of each dessert for both tables. Mango Panna Cotta & Chocolate Tartufo - I am not a chocolate person, but enjoyed the Tartufo better. Our guest wanted Soju! The first time, so we ended up ordering two hot larges. Smooth and went down too easily. I then finished my meal with a Ballast Point Sculpin IPA. Boy I miss this beer, I have not had in a while. Too busy supporting local breweries. Overall, the food was just okay for me and my daughter. Ambiance - Outside looks good, and new. Love the menus and the happy hour information. Might come back for HH. Small local restaurant. A few tables and bar seating. Clean restrooms, two unisex. Street metered parking, free after 6pm. Plenty of street parking. Service - Okay, the front door has issues... It stays open, then does NOT close. It is slanted, so you have to "force" it to close. When we ALL got here, I guess we left the front door open by accident. Well, the waitress did NOT appreciate that (I stayed outside taking my Yelp pictures while everyone else walked in). She gave me a LOOK... While I was still outside, more people came in and I tried to close the door for them and because the door is slanted, it did not close and had to be "forced" resulting in a slam, sorry. Got another look... After that, I went straight to my seat. Menus on the table. Price - Expensive, or did we order too much? I think our bill with tax and tip came out to almost $800. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2017; look forward to trying your happy hour.

This was my first time visiting Ramen Kameko on Clement Street. The promotion was $5 Special Ramen (To Go Only) with a choice of Tonkotsu or Shoyu Ramen. I like ramen, so I thought it would be a good opportunity to try the restaurant. They were already sold out of the Tonkotsu Ramen, so I ordered the Shoyu Ramen, a soy sauce-based broth topped with one piece of chashu, negi, and kikurage. By the time I ate it, the broth was only lukewarm. I also waited almost 30 minutes just to get the $5 Shoyu Ramen. Had I known it was only a mini-sized portion, I probably would not have waited in line for it. The chashu was okay, but the portion size seemed more like a snack size than a full bowl of ramen. For $5, it felt more like a sample portion. It was almost like eating a mini kids' meal version of ramen. There were only two people handling the promotion. It appeared the chef was preparing the ramen assembly-line style, scooping the soy sauce base into the container and adding hot water before serving. Overall, there wasn't anything particularly special about the promotion other than watching the chef prepare a large number of ramen orders. The $5 price was reasonable, but it felt more like a tasting portion than a full ramen experience.
