This place is SO GOOD. Like a Korean chipotle where you build your own bowl. The ingredients are very fresh, high quality and delicious. Service is quick and friendly, and they always serve large portions which really gives you bang for your buck! The garlic fried rice base is a must. The chicken protein options are great but I think the braised beef is the best. You can't go wrong when selecting a sauce and get all the toppings! I highly recommend when you want a quicker lunch that tastes awesome! Love that they're opening a second location. read more

I've been dying to try this place out ever since one of my friends told me about it. I love the concept, even if it's similar to other restaurants. Nonetheless, the food is so flavorful and very filling! I had the Korean friend chicken and the braised beef and both were so good, although I did prefer the chicken more. The sauces were unique! This is one of my favorite lunch spots in downtown BR. Are you in the mood for a fast, unique lunch that won't break the bank? You are in the right place at Okki Tokki. Here is the setup. Pick your base. They have rice, sweet potato noodles, and spring mix. Pick your protein: They have grilled chicken, fried chicken, braised beef, and some other stuff I cannot remember and have never gotten. Add your extras. I suggest the pickled onions, pickled daikon, and a double heaping of kimchi slaw. Add your sauce. The OT is great but the one that is a herby kick to your mouth is legit awesome. Okki Tokki is a Korean-inspired bowl place located on Main Street in the side of the Galvez Garage. This contemporary eatery allows you to build your own creation from a base of greens, noodles, or rice, then you add meats, veggies, toppings and sauce. It can be as light or hearty as you choose, and anything from mild to spicy. It allows you to have a different offering every time! The noodle base is my favorite, and I'm fond of both the Korean Fried Chicken and beef. There's Tofu if you don't care for meat. I'm fond of kimchi and cabbage, but really any three vegetables can be chosen. A great bite is the pickled Daikon Radish! Then you have toppings and sauces. After reading the reviews I had to go. It reminds me of a poke bowls. Choose the base- rice,noodles,lettuce. A protein-KFC(Korean fried chicken) shrimp, tofu, braised beef, and grilled chicken. Lots of choices. I got combo rice and noodles with KFC. Then come the veggies-4- I got kimchi, roasted corn, cucumbers, and pickled onions. Sauces next creamy BBq. Korean vinaigrette and a soy tahini. All were good. I also got toasted sesame chili oil for a little kick. The food was really amazing and I'd certainly go back. Okki Tokki is such a cute little spot located in the nook of the parking lot downtown. I will say the location is a bit inconvenient and annoying to get to, but the food is well worth it. My boyfriend and I tried all the snacks and sweets, but I recommend skipping both and just going in for the bowls. The snacks weren't what we hoped for, the dessert was a bit overfried, and the dumplings were very tiny, but it's all due to expectation. We both really enjoyed the bowls, and the meats are wonderfully seasoned. They are definitely heavy-handed (which is amazing~) and the staff are so kind! I visited on a hot summer day! [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was warm inside as well. Not sure if it's a temporary situation or not but the only AC seems to be 2 portable units. I really didnt know how/what to order but the instructions are posted which made ordering easy. I started my base with the delicious garlic rice. Next, I chose the marinade chicken as my protein. For veggies I chose carrots and cabbage. The final step was sauce, I asked for the most popular. I got it on the side since I didn't know how it taste. It was orange and had a tangy taste. Pretty good. I didn't add any toppings which is the last step. first off, a few complaints.. why did I not find this place sooner? why do I not go here more often? why doesn't this place have more hype than it already does? this is one of the places that's actually VERY worth the hype i'd say this is a korean chipotle, but that's an understatement, it's a korean izzos but better. really bad picture so excuse me but goodness they gave me so much food. it was VERY filling. i got stir fried shrimp, short grain rice, goddess remix, i think ot sauce (wasn't spicy at all nor did it have a strong gochujang taste, i like it either way though), braised beef, kimchi slaw, roasted corn, cucumbers. they seriously give you a lot. i got to try some of the grilled chicken too which was just as good!!! it didn't dry up after a day in the fridge either. i'm not sure what sauces they use on the meat, but it's rlly good. all the meats are marinated differently though. i ordered food, didn't go inside or anything, but i'll definitely be going one day!! extra info: they gave a BUNCH of noodles in another box. so everything ordered was a LOT. read more

Tue workers kept touching and scratching their faced with their gloves on Tuen serving food. I understand people do that unconsciously but when you work in the food industry you have to be aware of that remember the customer is watching you. I was disgusted but got the food anyway and blessed it with hopes of not getting sick. The workers were not friendly and seemed disgusted when people wanted all the toppings on their food. The chicken Teriyaki was a bit on the drier side for me. I was expecting the chicken to be in a sauce but it wasn't. It also didn't have that typical teriyaki flavor. They did put a sauce on the side im not sure what it was. It didn't stick to the chicken and the rice soaked it all up. The macaroni salad was a disappointment it was on the dry side with just egg and maybe a relish of some sort but that was it. I had to add a salt and pepper but still it was dry. The dumplings were the best thing, it comes with a tasty sweet chili sauce. The kimchi appeared to be old and didn't have flavor at all I didn't eat it. Unfortunately I may not be back.

My companion had the hot and spicy noodle soup with ground pork, bok choy, pickled cabbage, scallions, and peanuts. Dumplings were delicious. And the dipping sauce was thin but wildly flavorful. The Lan Zhou was definitely good. Full of their noodles of which there were MANY and long; some stretched from Baton Rouge to Biloxi. Not really, but a pair of culinary scissors would be helpful. Beef was plentiful, full of taste, and not overcooked. The broth was thin and sooo good. Bok choy was fresh and added a crispy snap to the soup. Fresh radish added crispness and tartness. A single soft boiled egg was nice and contributing to a delicious soup. I would come back just for the Lan Zhou. My companion really enjoyed the hot and spicy ground pork. Definitely spicy and the pork was finely ground. Verdict? Worth a second visit to hopefully find other great dishes among the soups, stir fried noodles, and Hibachi. Give it a try! We will.
