Ordered on DD to the Westin and maaaaaaaan this s#it hit!!!! Prob the best fried chicken and shrimp I've had in a while. And it was still hot when it arrived. My order was correct so huge points for that.

Okay this here is some fire chicken! There's a little area in front of the registers for sitting down and eating at. The service was friendly too I'll definitely have to come back. The honey hot catfish was my favorite even though it was a little crispy

Me and my girls went to have lunch on 314 day and we made the right decision! The food was delicious and fresh. Wait time was less than 15 minutes. Food came out fresh and hot. The staff were WONDERFUL and a pleasure to be around. Fish was fried perfect along with the shrimp. Will be back! 10/10

Great fried chicken - crispy and fresh. The honey hot sauce was unique and really tasty. Outside courtyard had lots of seating.

Terrific services, the ladies at the register had positive attitudes and it was just about time to close no rushing or anything I really appreciated that. Not to mention the food was excellent!

Wow. Is all I can say !

If I could give 5+ stars I would this place is awsome, I actually walked passed this place and had to double, TriPple back, Yes this is the place I seen on "Door Dash" definitely took my chance today.. Walked in greeted by the cashier at the front, placed me a order of 4 wings, !! I asked which is your best sauce ? He replied our signature honey hot, that's what I order 4 wings two honey hot. I definitely wanted to try the wings plain.... But some how I had gotten five 3 honey hot and 2 regular wings ! Let me tell you I actually stayed to dine, This Food from the fries to the wings, to the sauce to the little piece of bread Mane all I can say when you in need of some good wings and some kripsy fries, Like you use to fry as a kid you come here... Thanks for the awsome experience didn't seem so huge but it was BIG for me, and definitely appreciate the hospitality and the great food and cooking techniques!!! This place is a winner !!

Another 10/10! I thought the last time couldn't top the last time but it did. The lemon pepper shrimp with honey hot on the side is my go to. I love it. The people are nice and welcoming. Do try! Plenty of street parking available outside.

I had this restaurant saved to try for awhile and I'm glad I finally did. My default meal is chicken tenders; their lemon pepper ones are delicious! Fries were not over seasoned and for the first time I tasted a roll that was soft. Even with a 25 minute drive home the food was still hot. I'll definitely be back.

Peach cobbler. It was just okay

I loved this spot! Let's start with the customer service. The employee at the register was so humble that he didn't want any personal recognition in my review. I always appreciate when an employee offers the indecisive help with making decisions. The food was made to order and so scrumptious. We will be back next time we visit St. Louis.

I was finally able to try Vails Brothers after hearing great things over the years. I got the 6 piece jumbo fried shrimp meal that comes with fries and a roll. The shrimp had the potential to be GREAT (I could tell it was seasoned well) but it was fried TOO hard, so it lost all its flavor and it was hard to eat. Disappointing! I will come back and try the shrimp again and also the catfish. They continue to open locations and have expanded to Houston, Texas, so I am sure it is worth a second try.

Food is always great. Wish they had catfish nuggets not just filets. That's the only reason I have for stars.

We ended up moving 1 table over just to give everyone some space and privacy. They were out of an ingredient of one of their menu-based cocktails, so we ordered a different one. That one had a nut-based liquor in it and the bartender was "allergic" to nuts so could not make it. They made 2 of the 4 drinks and brought them out in about 10 minutes. The 3rd and 4th took another 10+ minutes. Lol. The appetizers were just okay and the dinner entrees seemed on the small side based on pricing, but were actually quite good....just would've liked a small bit more. Service was slow-ish even though the place was nearly empty (and we all didn't arrive at the same time). Skipped dessert and went to the Vandy for a night cap. Of course the inside is beautiful and spacious. The service was really amazing from my good friends that work there Bri and Jay!! Drinks: *The Cornbread Sermon - My favorite- definitely unique in a sense that actual cornbread was used in Woodford reserve. *Bayou Breeze - this was a NA drink. Floral forward. The thyme and elderflower you can really taste. Food: *Crab Beignets - AMAZING!! I wanted more than 3. Had a nice crunchy crust but soft on the inside. The lemon aioli was really good as well with it. *Lucy Q Big Plate - great way to experience trying all the meats they other. Only complaint was that the brisket was a bit dry. This also come with two sides which had that Mac n cheese and greens. The Mac was cooked right and very cheesy but to me it needed salt and pepper. The greens were really good. Dessert: *Salted Bourbon Caramel Cheesecake - ABSOLUTELY AMAZING - I wanted not a slice but the whole cheesecake! The cheesecake itself was soft and decadent but that salted bourbon caramel drizzle tasted really good. *Caramelized Banana Pudding Cake - this was a good dessert too. Very dense so I know I couldn't eat all of it but definitely tasted really good!!

The line wasn't too long, but I did notice it's set up a little differently than I remember. They now use more of the building, so the line runs down the hallway and loops into the restaurant, with two ordering counters available. While you're waiting, they have menus to look at and even a QR code if you'd rather pull it up on your phone. We ended up waiting about 10 minutes before ordering. Once we got to the counter, everything moved quickly. The staff member helped us right away and let us know they'd bring the food out to our table, which I was glad hasn't changed. One thing I did notice is that the original ordering/dining area is no longer open for seating, it looks like it's now used for staff and possibly catering/to-go orders. They have their drink station available for self-service and offer sodas and sweet and unsweet tea options as well as water. Luckily, there's still plenty of seating in the newer dining area, plus a good number of outdoor tables if you want to sit at a picnic table and enjoy the weather. Within a few minutes, we heard our names called and our food came out fast. And honestly, it was just as good as ever. I was especially happy with the sweet potato fries, and even though applesauce isn't anything fancy, it's kind of the perfect side for me at Pappy's. I ended up eating about half of my meal and boxing the rest up for dinner later, which is always a win. Overall, such a great spot, and I'm really glad it's so close to work. Definitely still a fan and will keep going back.

My research brought me here to Pappy's. I'm very glad it did. Ambiance starts with a line out the door, literally. You slowly shuffle down a long hallway full of Pappy's memorabilia. Then you make it to the ordering counter, order, and find a table. The dining room is huge, plenty of tables, with a full complement of sauces on each table. The service people at the counter were friendly, and so were the people delivering the food. The food came out quick and hot and delicious. We had baked beans and potato salad for sides, and they were pretty solid. Nothing show-stealing, but no complaints about them whatsoever. And of course, we got the ribs. Tender, juicy, a nice bite and chew, a decent bark, just a really wonderful rib. Better than any St. Louis style rib I've ever had back home in Florida. Other states, hard to say, the jury's out, but in that moment, I was eating a five-star rib. So good. We also got a 1/4 pound of the Burnt Ends. Usually, burnt ends are the king of meats, but I think we've entered the phase of America, where they're just another variety of meat and not necessarily upper echelon anymore. That being said, these were pretty ok. Should have gotten more ribs. Overall, Pappy's was pretty wow. Great local spot with a lot of pride and history, excellent ribs, I will definitely try to come back next time I'm in town.

The owners are very approachable and could immediately recognize us as Filipinos when we were sitting and eating there. The restaurant reminds me of a "fancier" Filipino style like you see in big tourist spots in Boracay. I do admit, the wait is a bit long as we were waiting for almost 30 minutes for our food to arrive. However, I feel like the complaints about it from other reviews are ridiculous since this place isn't considered fast food, but cooked with love. I mean- when I was living in The Philippines, everyone has patience of a saint, especially when it comes to food so I do not see the wait time as an issue. It's not served immediately like karinderya style. I ordered the Filipino-style chicken BBQ and I'd like to say that it's so delicious and flavorful. However, it doesn't remind me of home. I do want to point out to definitely ask for tuyo kalamansi with chili for the dip if you're not a fan of vinegar. I was told it was homemade by the owner and it did not disappoint. The pork BBQ that my father ordered was a bit too hard for his liking, as Filipino meat tends to be on the softer side. The ube banana pudding is also yummy, however, it is way too sweet for our liking. I'd like to point out that Java rice is so good that I think that it isn't enough for a Filipino like me and I personally don't want to pay for another cup of Java rice. There were more sides than rice tbh. I was also a bit bummed that halo-halo isn't in the menu at all, With that being said, I feel like the food and desserts here are mostly catering the American palette, but it would be good for people who has never tried Filipino food.
