    Pros: Great little hustle and bustle ambiance. Lots of BBQ decor and photos on the wall. Good looking little place. Service was on point. Friendly cashier, food that came out promptly, and BBQ sauce provided on the table. As for the food, excellent ribs! Simultaneously were tender, but also had a nice bite to it. Great, subtle smoke flavor. Big fan of these ribs. I can see how they won their prestigious award. Cons: No real cons that I could tell. The burnt ends were not that much better than your average burnt ends. Not like those ribs. Tips: Get the ribs, get the beans, get the potato salad. Skip the ends and go with something else, I would recommend.

    Work trip to STL. I had one place I had to hit - Pappy's. Logistically difficult because of work hours v. open hours. Only one chance - be the first in line on the day I fly out, cram a full rack of ribs in my face as fast as possible, and hope my Uber driver likes to speed and TSA wasn't a mess. The window was barely open. My wife warned me not to miss my flight, but I had to chance it. Best. Ribs. Ever. Worth every second of planning and scheming and standing in line with my suitcase. Just the most tender, perfectly sauced and perfectly crusted rack of ribs I've ever enjoyed. I didn't know Pappy, but I'm thankful he was here and did this. The staff is incredibly friendly, the service is top notch. The ordering process is simple and the food comes out fast. The place feels exactly as a smokehouse should - not at all fancy and proudly adorned with local stuff. I am thrilled that I took the risk and experienced Pappy's. Yes, I made my flight.

    Isn't much to say that hasn't already been said-Pappy's is the St. Louis stop for the best ribs. We came with research that it was the best, and it did not disappoint. Better also than any ribs we have had in KC. Got there right at 11 when they open for lunch, and still a line almost to the outside, however it moves quickly and is very efficient. Parking on-site. You order first and get a table, food came out quick. Ribs were phenomenal, we also got smoked turkey to try something different and pulled pork sandwich for the kiddo. Homemade applesauce is also not to be passed up on. We come to St. Louis annually now for Skywars so we will be stopping here each time.

    I heard about the long lines at this spot and was worried about having to wait for a long time. Two of us ended up stopping by shortly before 4pm on a weekday and did not have to wait at all. We split an order of the ribs, brisket, and burnt ends, with a side of potato salad and corn. We were starving and happily gobbled everything up! I had a lot of fun trying the various sauces at the table, but would also mention that the meats are flavorful enough on their own that you don't have to add sauce if you do not want to. However, I'd recommend adding some acidity with the carolina vinegar or some spice with the hoodoo sauce! It helps bring out even more dimension in the meat. The ribs and burnt ends were the highlight for me-- so smoky, tender, and the perfect balance of meat and fat. The brisket, while also tender, was not as flavorful as the other meats. Both sides I tried were solid. The corn was on the greasy side but very savory. I guess the trick is to come at odd hours on a weekday! But the food is delicious enough that a long weekend wait would be worth it, too.

    The best BBQ I've ever had in my life. I ordered the full rack of ribs with vinegar slaw and baked beans and my lady ordered burnt ends and smoked brisket with beans and potato salad. Everything was absolutely amazing and worth any wait in line.

    St Louis Ribs it is...fall off the bone, balanced flavor, really good flavor even without sauces. The salad serving was huge, good for 2. The service was quick, efficient, and we were a big group. The restaurant just lining up will stimulate an appetite, you can smell the smoke.

    I hadn't been here since before the COVID lockdown, and while some things, like the menu, have changed, the smoked meats are still full of flavor and very satisfying. I was a bit disappointed that some of the side options are different now, but the baked beans remain a clear winner. Inside, it still feels like a true BBQ joint. You can smell the smoke the moment you walk in, and the view of the BBQ pits is a great touch. I also love that they still carry Fitz's soda, which is easily one of the best sodas out there. The staff does a great job keeping the tables clean and the line moving, making the overall experience efficient and enjoyable.

    The best BBQ in the country. In my opinion. If you are in the St Louis area. This bbq place is a must try. Even for a road trip. It's that good. I got the combo plate with ribs and brisket. The sides were potato salad and beans. The ribs are probably the best I've ever had. No joke. They are that good. Just incredible. The brisket was nice as well. But the star is the ribs. Tender, flavorful and fall off the bone. The line was very long to get seated. But it does move a fast. Don't worry. Staff was very friendly, and service was fast.

    When in St. Louis, you must try Pappy's Smokehouse. I was visiting St. Louis on a team volleyball tournament and inquired with a friend of mine who lived in the area, but had never tried it out (there are so many barbeque options in the area as you may know). Even she was impressed with the offerings and the presentation of food. I love ribs, but I think my favorite part of any good smokehouse is sampling the creative sides. The pickles, in particular, were my favorite. Between the ribs, sausage, brisket, corn, slaw, fries, and everything else sampled; I think I experienced just about every flavor: sweet, spicy, sour, etc. Will definitely be back the next time we're in town!

    This place is an absolute banger if you're willing to wait one and a half hours in a line on a Sunday. But it's absolutely worth it, went here with a bunch of family and the line was bustling, but moving. We got a whole plate of ribs and pulled pork and fries and every single bite was absolutely worth it. The flavor was smoky and spectacular. The servers were extremely friendly and very understanding considering the Long weight that we had. I would recommend going on a non-busy time if you're don't want to wait because the food is totally worth it. Vibes are rustic western barbecue American style, Yeehaw!!!!

    Had high hopes and maybe my expectations were just too high. Had to try this place as I was seeking the best St Louis bbq. Came around 11:30 am on a Sunday. The line was somewhat long but not on the street yet, but we were told it was likely still a 45 minute wait when we walked in to stand in line. You can order it to go and eat on the tables outside and there was no wait. It was a hot day but not too hot yet so we opted for that. The ribs came in foil but inside the foil, they were wrapped in plastic wrap. Kind of gross to think about the microplastics being kept warm in cellophane like that. The ribs were tender, but tender as if they were just baked and cooked a long time, didn't have a nice smoky flavor like the outstanding ribs I had at like Franklins in Austin. The sides were nice. The applesauce tasted good and was clearly homemade. The fried corn on the cob was good. The green beans were good. The ribs just were disappointing. I'm glad I didn't have to wait very long (because if I had waited 45+ minutes, this rating would be 3 stars instead of 4) but overall not impressed with St Louis bbq

    Got the brisket with sweet potato fries and pickles. My friend got the ribs and corn. Both were good, very tender. The sauce was also really nice (I tried all four and we really liked the spicy one the most). The lineup was long when we got there but it was pretty quick, I think we had a 20-30 minute wait so not too bad (I once waited for an hour at a different BBQ place). Placed our orders and food came out pretty quickly. The staff was really nice and recommended the sides (was not disappointed). The inside had plenty of seating and had cool decorations, I think newspaper clippings or some articles lined the walls. Overall, had a good experience and would definitely come back.

    I love eating the American barbecue here! Especially the sauces combined with the meat. You can smell the aroma before you walk in and there's a huge line. It was worth the wait since a bunch of people are lining up for their meal. You order your meal first before finding a seat. After ordering from the cashier, my meal is already prepared after 2-3 mins. We just needed a place to seat, which we were able to find. The service is quick. The to-go boxes are already for you to grab before you leave. The portions are a lot, so it's perfect for meal prepping.

    Yes they're available.

    you will not necessarily wait more than 10 minutes, but they may be out of brisket, that is the only thing that you have to "worry about". I missed it by 15 minutes, but the ribs were more than great.

    Their pork ribs!!!!

    How much of a wait can be expected on a Friday night around 6:00?

    Typically the wait time on Friday night averages 25 minutes. Busy nights can hit 45 minutes. Expect 1-2 meats to be sold out after 6, with most items selling out after 7:00

I almost paid $42 to deliver 1 grocery bag of food to chesterfield! My car costs less for a full tank of gas so round trip delivering on my own was way way less. The amount was not shared with me on order placement and when the charge hit my bank I was really surprised! I called and cancelled the delivery and was issued a credit, but it was a surprise I did not need, if they had just been upfront about the charge while ordering. Love the food, great local business/neighbor and always a pleasure to give them business.

We were told the decorations would be put on the tables by your team and the tear down/set up of the room would be taken care of by Russo's staff. That may not be what is on the written contract but it is 100% what my fiance and I were told. Which is why we put together boxes and a binder to be organized and helpful. I have never spoken to you so I'm not sure how you know what was discussed with us and what was not. I stated above the communication prior to our wedding day was horrendous and it was very hard to get questions answered. Maybe if communication had been better any confusion on expectations could have been cleared up. Aside from that, if you had properly read my review you would have comprehended that my complaint was not with the fact that your staff didn't set out the decorations, but with the fact they didn't communicate that they weren't going to until 10 minutes before the reception started. As I stated above my mother showed them the boxes, decorations and binder before the cocktail hour started and the staff member agreed with my mother that they would set it out. If it wasn't in the contract and they weren't planning on doing that then that was the opportunity to let that be known. However, they waited until 10 minutes before and that made us run 40 minutes behind schedule. To address your comment that the outside bar closed and the inside one opened... how were my guests supposed to get to the inside bar while they were at the outdoor cocktail hour? They could not enter because my mother and bridal party were setting up the inside of the building. Therefore my guests were outside with a closed bar while the bartender was at an empty inside bar for 40 minutes.

They have a food cafe with its own order window. The deli, lunch meat, and meat area are all under the same number so you will traverse the counter if you need all three. The butcher/slicers behind the case are pretty friendly and helpful. They will answer questions if you have them. Lots of other meat available in other refrigerated cases and the freezer. Cheeses and prepared foods, pizza, ice cream, some grocery items, lots of seasoning and sauces, most things you will need to accompany your meat purchases. When you are ready to check out, the line heads from the cashier counter to the back of the store, even if its long, it moves pretty quickly. The cashiers are pretty quick but not always the friendliest, more like focused on getting the line reduces. Kenrick's does catering and they rent BBQ pits
