Newbie alert for my Husbae! I had previously been to Old Chicago but it had been awhile. So we were in the area home shopping and my kids wanted pizza so we ended up here. Very nice staff. Kayla was our waitress and she was extremely sweet. I had a beef and jalapeño calzone. The beef was a bit too soft for my taste. I can't put my finger on it but I didn't like it. I don't eat pork so my choices were limited. No one's fault. Kayla took it off my bill and asked if I wanted something else but I just need a nap because I had an eventful day so I declined. We had Spinach Artichoke Dip for an appetizer. It was a little liquidity for my taste and not enough spinach. My husbae had the works 8' pizza. He was only able to eat half and brought the rest home. As a family that loves pizza and our typical family outing is for pizza cause we can all get what we want I have to say I feel this place is very underrated. We had such a good experience from the second we walked in the door to leaving. Pizza was delicious and the beer selection was great in my opinion. The manager there last night though was absolutely spectacular he came to check on our table and since it was our first time he really took care of us and made us as customers feel appreciated. Our waitress was really sweet and made accommodations for my drink choice: I wanted a mock tail but they didn't serve them so she had the bar tender just get me a juice with seltzer and only charged us the price for the juice. I ordered DoorDash pretty later at night from Old Chicago mostly bc they are open so late and i genuinely enjoy the food. I got pasta and the cook was Mr Bird and it was amazing the pasta was creamy not dry and the presentation was beautiful. Not only for it being a DD but also for so late at night. Really pleased with my meal. I have ordered before when it wasn't the exact same, not bad just not as good as this time. Definitely rq Mr Bird if you can when or if you dine in I called once I ate to make sure the manager knew his staff is pushing out promising food. He was very kind. I want to like this place more than I do. When it first opened years ago, it was pretty great. And honestly, when they are having a good day the pizza is still tasty. BUT the super slow service and lukewarm food has driven it down the gutter. Sadly, this town lacks variety, so my family and I still visit here periodically. The last two visits were crazy packed, even at 5:30 there was a 30+ minute wait, which is usually still a pretty quiet time for dinner on a weekend. Back to back visits with order screw ups - I blame this on waiters/waitresses thinking they can remember every order without the need to actually write things down. Seriously. What is up with that? Write it down and get it right...no brainer. Ordered a pepperoni and sausage stromboli...got peppers, onion, and pepperoni. I mean...at least they got the pepperoni part right . While many restaurants are closed Christmas Day, Old Chicago was one of the few restaurants that kept their doors open and I was truly grateful because I was tired of "turkey food." There was a limited menu no appetizers, pasta, wings, or calzones, and they were out of thin crust, and many holiday and specialty beer/drinks. As long as they served pizza I was happy. Staff was friendly despite having to work on Christmas. I ordered the large Style Chicago with a Long Island Iced Tea. The pizza was absoluely one of the best I have ever tasted. It was steaming hot when the server brought it out and the topping were fresh. The Long Island had me thinking that I should have ordered a water instead, it was terrible. Ive been coming to old chicago on my lunch breaks since atleast 2-3 time a month for the past year, Ms. Tiffany has been there every time I walk in, and im sure she sees a bunch of people through her time here, but she took time to remember me. Always a fresh assortment of new beers, so for someone who enjoys a taste of everywhere this place has been awesome. Stopped here for dinner on a Sunday evening. Our server was Alexandria and she was absolutely amazing, not only to us but to all her customers. Even if the food was horrible, which it certainly was not, I would go back just because of the service. As for the food, all 4 of us ordered different personal pizzas. She not only took our order but guided us through the choices we were making to ensure we all got exactly what we wanted. The pizzas were wonderful, the ale infused crust was great so this just rounded out the great experience. We are visiting the Clarksville area this week and this made be wish the chain had locations in our area. Can't say enough good things here. The service here is pretty lousy, my friends and I showed up here Friday night and two of us weren't drinking so we ordered Diet Pepsis. One of us ordered a beer and his showed up right away of course but when it came to our soft drinks they weren't brought. Our waiter walked by us a few times and on his third walk by mentioned to us that for some reason they're out of Diet Pepsi and would get it out to us as soon as they 'fixed' the problem. Isn't it just a matter of switching out syrup bags and hooking it up to the soda line? I guess not, because we ordered our meal and our diet colas never showed up at all. The pizza here is definitely not Chicago style-Chicago style deep dish is almost casserole like with tomato sauce on top of a cheese/'topping' mixture. The 'Chicago 7' pizza ran riot on the Democratic Convention of my stomach the next morning. I have lived in the 606 for many years, since moving to TN we are always looking for good Chicago style food. When we saw this place we decided to stop in. Utterly disappointed. I'm not sure why it's called Old Chicago when the majority of the decor is TN themed. There is one photo of a Chicago style polish on the wall, but there's none on the menu. We sat at the bar and it took a while for someone to acknowledge us. When she finally did the bartender only took my boyfriend's order and then walked away for a few minutes before asking me if I was ready or wanted anything. Never got refills on our alcohol. Never offered water or anything. Ordered a thin crust cheese pizza which took a really long time. It was hard to decide what size pizza to get because it's listed by number of slices on the menu and the thin crust is cut in squares. We ordered a large and it should have been 18 pieces. It finally comes out and it's cut in the most uneven pieces I have ever seen. The bartender said "sorry I think the guy back there is new". New or not, the pizza was beyond hard. My teeth actually hurt from eating that. My boyfriend looked at me and asked "is the crust supposed to be edible". We were really hungry so we suffered through eating the pizza even though it was about the same texture as the rocks outside. I'll be making an appointment with my dentist tomorrow. The bartender never asked us how the food was or offered refills or anything else. Terrible service and borderline inedible food. I don't recommend going here unless you enjoy rough service and tough to eat food. read more
