We always go to OCP when in Wildwood. They have very good happy hour foods. We got steamed shrimp which were large and delicious, and wings...hot crispy and meaty. I had an excellent French Martini; my favorite cocktail. Our bartender, Ronan was very nice and conversational, which we like. We always go kind of early, around 4 or so. We went there Saturday night to see the Sindi Raymond Band, What a great time and the Food was awesome (Steak Yummo)!! As friends began showing up, thast we know began funneling in, We had a problem with the check and it was quickly addressed from the manager Matt and corrected. The manager Matt showed how he cares about his customers, Also a shout out to Nick who showed, listened to us, and to also help resolve our issue. We hope to get him next time on our visit. We started having a lovely time on Irish Weekend until the bartenders and fake manager ruined our weekend with their unprofessional, condescending, rude, down right wrong conduct. My husband put his debit card up on the bar right away and the bartender took the card to the register. After the 1st band ended, the bar cleared out. We were saving seats for our friends who wanted to eat with us who were on their way. The bartenders rudely (with attitude) asked us not to save seats. We understand bar etiquette, no one was waiting for a seat at this time and we would have given up seat if needed. We asked to check out after being treated so disrespectfully. Our card was missing! The staff insisted they never took our card. We both remember precisely that they in fact did. Our card was charged from this seedy establishment. We were very upset and asked for help, the fake manager continued to berate us and yell. Patrons looked at us like we did something wrong! We were inconvenienced by not having a debit card that evening, publicly humiliated, and had to go to the bank to dispute charges placed on our card after being misplaced and obtain a new card. We went back the next day to show they indeed had our card initially proven by an inaccurate transaction on our card. We calmly asked for an apology. The fake manager refused to admit their mistake. The facts are that they took our card, proven by transaction at bank and charged another party's bill to our card. The fake manager yelled and cursed at my husband. What a shame to employ incompetent, angry, unhelpful employees. We were enjoying the live music and the potato soup was delicious. The food looked amazing; however, we would never frequent here again. Fake manager said "bring it on!" After cursing at us. *"Fake manager" because I could find a better service at Mc Donalds. Decent happy hour. Solid wings and sliders. Spacious interior, and I like that it's veteran owned. Minus 1 star for the service - it wasn't terrible, but the young lady working the bar just gave off a vibe that she didn't really want to be there. To be fair, maybe that was just because it was still the off-season and they were pretty slow during my visit. Minus another star being cash only at the bar. That's extremely out of date and inconvenient. They have an ATM on site- but there's a $3 transaction fee, and If you bank with TD, they're also gonna charge you for using a non TD ATM. Not sure how much, but say it's $2 from TD - I shouldn't have to pay $5 in order to then pay for my food and drinks. Best kept secret for great food! We used to come here regularly when it was Tucker's but mostly for the libations and not so much the food. Then it changed owners a few years back and got a little better but lost the atmosphere. Something great happened last year and is still continuing....they hired the most friendly Irish bartenders and started turning out incredible dishes on the cheap. Last night my wife and I split a salmon panini with roasted peppers, spinach, provolone, and served with fries (around $12) had 2 local craft beers, a Manhattan, and the most delicious potato leek soup. The bill was $37 and we left satisfied and full as we've done every time we've been here. We love coming to Old City. It is so cool inside, what the high ceilings of an old bank. The Coors Light draft is cold and nice and at the right price- 3.50. It had been a long time since I had the pot roast, so I was psyched. Sad to say, the recipe has changed. The gravy is some runny concoction that is a minus to the meat, not a positive. Bummed? Yes, I am. Kathleen noted the saltiness of the crab asparagus soup, and I, a salt lover, had to agree. Party of 24 We had a large party of different families come out to this pub and wanted to have our checks rang separately. So about 6 checks we wanted separate. When we asked if they could the manager sarcastically replied "we can do it but we choose not to. It made it difficult for us to have to figure out who ate and drank what and the price plus tax and gratuity when the restaurant has a system that could easily do it. Due to the lack of customer care shown by management we will not return here and will gladly take our large party to a different restaurant in the future. Also, the manager was sarcastic and rude and had the nerve to tell one of the parents that we don't have to eat there. So I guess we will choose not to!! read more

Got seated in the side room, was given menus and waited for our server after about 10 minutes another table was seated behind us, within few minutes later they got a server. We stay across the street every year for Irish weekend. We've always had great service. Amazing food. We got the nachos twice today with chicken and chili! Fabulous! I had Katherine this year as our server... She was absolutely amazing. As a service industry person i myself...i can't express how amazing i know all the team working to get through that Lil pop today. Service is quick and the food is quality. Party of 7, ribs were fantastic, NY strip steak was supposed to be medium rare and was served medium well, burger was supposed to be medium and came out well done, U-Peel shrimp platter was almost room temp so we sent that back, prime rib sandwich wasn't that good, mashed potatoes were very dry and needed gravy, we waited for 20 minutes for our waitress to come over and check on us so we could tell her we were ready to pay and she gave us attitude and told us we should of gotten her attention if we were done. I explained to her the complaints we had about the food and the fact that we had to wait for a long time and she told me that she's busy and it's not her fault. I used to love this place when it was the Irish Pub and now it's a no go for us. We also had to wait FOREVER for our food and 3 people were more than halfway completed eating when the other meals showed up. I had never been to Old City Pub before (even when it was formerly Tucker's Pub) and I was always curious about it. My young daughter and I stopped in around 3pm on a Saturday in late February and found only one other table was seated. While we were there a man did come in and asked for a take-out menu, which they did not have any available as they "had just changed their menu" (according to the bartender.) The dining area is a large open space with a seemingly well stocked bar. The decor is nice, with a beautiful glass light hanging in the middle of the ceiling. It feels huge inside due to the room being entirely open to the second floor ceiling. It was clean and they had rock/alternative music playing. There are at least five flat screen TVs on the walls surrounding the dining area and bar. Appetizer - Mozzarella Sticks: Our app came out pretty quickly. The mozzarella sticks were not very big and clearly not homemade, but were hot and had a lot of cheese in them. The marinara sauce was very good. Kid's Entrée - Grilled Cheese with Fries: The kid's meal was plenty of food for my seven year old. The grilled cheese was on thick bread and plenty of cheese. It also came with fries, which were nothing special, but were hot and not over salted. Main Entrée - Chicken Caesar Wrap with Chips: The chicken Caesar wrap was good, but not very thick/big. The wrap itself was just a plain flour type wrap, but the chicken tasted good and the lettuce and tomatoes were fresh. The waitress/hostess was nice and attentive to our table, but again we were only one of two tables at the time so I cannot speak for how it would be during a busy lunch or dinner rush. Overall the meal was okay and I would likely go back, but there are other local businesses I'd recommend over this one. read more

We went to Old City Pub with a large group on a rainy, dreary, Saturday afternoon. The good news - they sat our 15-person party and served us affordable bar fare. Though I recognize the group is a tough one to accommodate, service was really rough. Food took forever and came at seemingly random times (with an appetizer coming after all the entrees). We were unable to watch the UVA baseball game because the pub doesn't get ESPNU (come on...). A vent was blasting freezing cold air at us - when we asked if it could be fixed, since we felt like we were dining in a windstorm, the waiter sorta shrugged us off. The waitress struggled to get the drinks and orders correct, but the food was delicious. Asparagus and crab soup was not great. The real issue was the staff and how they handled our request to stay after dinner and have a few drinks on the patio. Definitely not even close to the quality of Tucker's. No drink menu which wasn't big deal. One person got a bacon cheese burger. Looked like a bubba burger with microwaveable Oscar Meyer bacon on it. I had prime rib panini which the bread was hard on top and soggy on bottom. I don't think it had horseradish sauce on it or it just had zero taste. Tasted good but not as good as the other reviews made me believe. Another had chipotle chicken panini and said it was "ok".
