We had the most incredible experience touring Yellowstone on snowmobiles with Old Faithful Snowmobile Tours (OFST). We did the 3 day tour trip with 4 other couples. Tom was our guide. I can't say enough good things about Tom-he was truly the best. He knew Yellowstone inside and out. He kept good care of our group and I always felt safe with him, even when passing the bull bison on the road. The meals on the trip were great, starting with the breakfast each morning. Even our sandwich lunches were special. The hotels were just right and our dinners were great. We saw so many different things, it is hard to describe. This was our second time (in 8 years) with this wonderful family! We didn't have the snow in Yellowstone this time (New Years 2024) to do all 3 days, but Senna and John did not disappoint - providing us with 2 days in the park, 1 day in the Tetons, and 1 day at Greys River. Our guides were Christian (Greys River) and Peyton (Yellowstone and Tetons) and were knowledgeable and caring about how we were doing and making sure that we had a good time! We just did a 3 day snowmobile tour with Jon. It was one of the coolest things Ive ever done. Going into it I expected a very casual slow sightseeing trip on flat groomed trails. What we did was something much better. We got experience the grand tetons in an incredible way through the mountain trails and deep powder. Something I never actually thought I would ever do. My wife had never ridden a snowmobile and this trip she drove her own sled for probably 180 miles through all kinds of terrain. So it caters to all skill levels. Can't say enough about how great an experience we had. We were originally worried since we had never been on a snowmobile before but from the start Tom, our guide put us at ease. Tom's great knowledge of the area and his sense of humor were what every guide should aspire to. It was like we had a trapper, geologist, and historian all wrapped up in one. He gave us the opportunity to photograph the wildlife and scenery while keeping us safe with the many close encounters with the Bison. The equipment was great. It was the last one of the season and unfortunately, it was affected by the lack of snow in the park this year. OFST called us a week prior to our tour date to tell us there would be changes because of the snow conditions. We really appreciated knowing that before we arrived. We decided to go anyway and are glad we did. Our tour consisted of 2 days in Yellowstone and one day on Togwotee Mountain Pass located on the continental divide. Everyone was very professional and customer service oriented. Joe, our guide, was low keyed, friendly and very knowledgeable. He made sure we were warm and safe throughout the trip. The snowmobiles were easy to drive. The breakfasts and dinners were very good. The scenery and wildlife, of course, were amazing. As another reviewer mentioned, if you are the passenger, wear at least one extra layer and have hand and foot warmers. It's definitely feels colder if you are the passenger. We had a blast snowmobiling two separate days. The first day we did a full day through the continental divide and we had a amazing lodge we ate lunch at. Our tour guide Mo was very friendly and patient and knowledgeable. The next day we did a half day tour called the 'Wild Life' tour. It was more of an 'open country' tour, which was also amazing. I guess I was under the impression that we'd be seeing tons and tons of animals. We saw some mountain goats, a bald eagle, a moose (far away) and I think elk. This tour had the Grand Teton in the background and was amazing. We went on 26 and 27 December. -5 and then -18 when we started. A little chilly if you're not used to that! Thanks! read more

All I can say is "WOW". I planned this trip back in May. I convinced my wife that a couple of 65+ Baby Boomers could handle it. I also convinced her that she should entirely immerse herself in the experience by guiding her own sled. We met the day before the trip the at the OFST office and were fitted for all our outer gear. Senne and all the staff in the office were very informational and relaxed some of my wife's fears. The next day we met back at the office and met out guide. Thomas is a true outdoorsman and a look alike for Paul Bunyan. He escorted us to the breakfast location where we met our team of 8 other thrill seekers. All the group immediately seem to hit it off. For the next three days Thomas guided us about 240 miles around Yellowstone. He was experienced, informational and always safety conscience. We saw, hundreds of Buffalo, some came as close as 8' while they were walking down the road, a Canadian Wolf scooting down the road, a Bald Eagle, Elk, Coyotes, Long Neck Swans and other assorted animals. This was the best tour company I have ever used anywhere. Every person in their company is friendly, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. We used OF for two tours and they were both fantastic. Joe was our guide both days. He is very concerned that you have a good time and helps you through the tough parts without making you feel inadequate. Our group was in town from California to ski Jackson Hole. After two thorough days of skiing, we planned on a Yellowstone snowmobile tour for our third day. We got lucky and the weather was amazing. We were even luckier that we chose Old Faithful Snowmobile Tours. This is a family run operation and they really work hard to make sure you are safe, happy, and satisfied. Our tour guide, Tom, picked us up in a van (we were a group of 8 adults and 4 children). Tom has a tremendous amount of knowledge of Jackson Hole and Yellowstone. He has a classy old school cowboy kind of charm and a wonderful laid-back temperament. Our whole group loved how he kept everyone on pace; we got to Old Faithful right on time at 11 AM to watch it erupt. What is so nice about going to Yellowstone in the winter time is the tranquil atmosphere that you won't have in the summer. Tom got lunch ready for our group in a yurt (aka cool tent) near Old Faithful. You could tell he really wanted to make sure everyone had what they needed and more. After lunch, he took care of the clean up while our group spent 10 minutes taking another look at the geysers. He was awesome. When we got back, they were very caring and attentive to everyone. I think Tom's daughter-in-law, Senne helps out behind the counter. I really respect that they cared about their business and their customers. We traveled in our camper with our pups and they were so amazing they let them out to potty while we were gone. They provide the warmest clothes to keep you warm while on the snowmobile tour. Take a tour with these guys! The owner Jon and his wife senna (I'm sure I'm spelling it wrong) are so great and accommodating. These people could not have been nicer! She took all the time in the world on the phone answering all of my stupid questions. I went snowmobiling with 5 of my girlfriends to two different places. First day..Gros Vant. Great guide, wild riding, tons of elk, moose and some big horn sheep. We even saw a porcupine. Had lunch in a great old hunting cabin. Good food, hot soups and piping hot chocolate too! It was absolutely amazing! Second day we did the Yellowstone trip. It was also great but totally different scenery. Super fast riding at times, almost 55 miles per hour if we let loose. There was so much snow when we were there! The park was almost empty so we felt like we had it all to ourselves which was spectacular. We rode 45 miles to catch Old Faithful erupt and then have lunch in a heated yurt. On the way back we stopped at all the great sites of Yellowstone. Another memorable day and again, our guide took great care of everything and even put up with taking pictures with everyone's cameras all day long. The company provided warm outerwear, boots, helmets and gloves but I suggest you bring a neck warmer...and layers underneath and you will be toasty warm . The machines go fast so if you aren't confident, ride on he back of someone else's. It's still crazy fun and not any harder for the driver.
