Pricing was ok but one of the workers broke an $80 item and he failed to mention it to the lead guy. I felt bad for the kid so I didnt complain but I felt a little jaded after paying $500 because I had to pay for their truck to be refueled from Petaluma to Santa Rosa and back. The only reason the price was lower is because I helped and had most of my items boxed, stored and ready to go which cut down the time moving stuff.

We do not have video proof of exactly who took it, but based on the timing and who had access, we strongly believe the loss happened during the move. I contacted the company and filed a formal claim along with a police report. This has been stressful and disappointing, and I would not use this company again. At minimum, I strongly recommend that anyone hiring movers keep all wallets, cash, jewelry, medications, and valuables completely secured and away from the moving area. I cannot recommend fresh start movers based on my experience.

The moving crew was a bunch of inexperienced kids around 18 years of age. The owner did not even supervise the move and took one of the trucks to a casino while the others unloaded at my new home. When he came back there were items missing and many damaged things. He came back around 1 am with the truck. Then he told me that the move took longer and he would have to charge an additional 9000 dollars unless I tip his workers. ALso the owner smoked a vape in my house. They were also careful to point out damage prior and ensure I was aware before they packed up any items. Movers were quick completing the move in less than four hours. They ended up adding a person when we got to the next house to make the move faster. I was informed prior and agreed before the person was added since there was additional cost. All my furniture was put back together without any issues. Would use Hansen again for future moves.
